Rain fell without pause across the world. It was sad rain, cold rain, painful rain, heart-breaking rain. It had rained yesterday, the day before, and for countless days before that. The weather forecast said it would continue tomorrow and the days after as well.
Along a roadside, a little boy in a raincoat and boots splashed in puddles as he held his mother's hand. A smile lit his face with innocent satisfaction.
Swish!
Suddenly, a car sped by, splashing water across the boy as he stood near the curb. His mother quickly crouched down and scolded him gently, urging him to stand further back from the road. The boy pouted and insisted he had already grown up and could protect her instead. She smiled warmly, brushed his head with her hand, and convinced him to listen. He stepped behind her obediently.
At the next corner, another car came speeding past.
The young mother was struck and thrown into the air like a kite with its string cut. Blood burst across the scene like a smashed fruit.
Bang!
Her body landed heavily and bounced on the pavement before going still, as fragile as a wilted flower. The boy's face was splattered with her blood.
He froze in place, staring at the horror before him without knowing what to do.
Should he cry? Should he scream? Should he rush to his mother? Call for help? Hate the driver? Run for his father? He stood silently, unmoving, as the rain continued to fall.
The car kept driving. His mother remained still. Only he remained, alone in the world.
...
Rain continued to fall.
Fear, despair, anger, and hatred surged together in his chest. Time layered before his eyes like stacked pages of memory; bodies piled upward like mountains and spread outward like seas. Every raindrop felt like the tears of the dead. They poured into Yhwach's heart, leaving it full of holes and ready to break apart.
He whispered into the storm. Did others understand the pain that fell with the rain? Could there be a world without death, without fear, without sacrifice?
If anyone believed in him, he swore he would end the rain forever.
Yhwach rose from his bed, the weight of his boots echoing like thunder through the Invisible Empire. Every step pressed into the hearts of those who heard it. He gazed up at the darkened sky above.
"Hasschwalth, let me hear the report on the distance to peace."
Jugram Haschwalth knelt beside him. "Your Majesty, the millennium approaches. The world will inevitably fall into your hands."
Yhwach sneered. "Yuta... even with your remarkable perception, I have foreseen everything about you. Even if you wish to defeat Aizen Sōsuke, you cannot surpass me."
He shifted his gaze to the blond knight kneeling before him. "Hasschwalth, do you believe in me?"
"We all place our faith in Your Majesty."
"Very good." Yhwach swept his cloak behind him and strode forward. "I will shape a new world with your power."
...
In the present world-
"Did you hear?"
"They say the student council president is in the hospital."
"Apparently he was attacked by someone... maybe even cut."
"Nobody knows for sure."
...
Recently, Ishida Uryū had assumed the role of student council president. At first, he had no interest, but when he learned the position granted the perk of buying groceries at half price in the school's supermarket, he reluctantly accepted. Not long ago he was attacked by an unknown assailant and injured.
Inside a quiet mansion hall, Yuta sat by a large window, sipping tea. The space was simple but broad, with minimal decoration.
"Sōsuke, it seems the Fullbringers have already started moving," Yuta said evenly. "We'll have to meet them sooner rather than later."
At his side stood Aizen Sōsuke. He smiled faintly. "Don't you think it is excessive for us to use our power against ordinary Fullbringers?"
"Not exactly," Yuta replied. "Many Fullbringers possess abilities tied to 'rules'-their powers resemble supernatural laws. They're not as easy to deal with as they might appear."
Before Yuta could continue, Aizen's expression shifted. He sensed approaching reiatsu, and his figure faded gradually until only spirit particles remained, leaving the hall empty behind him.
Moments later, two small figures entered through the front of the mansion-Kurosaki Karin and Kurosaki Yuzu.
"Hi, Mr. Yuta!" The sisters waved cheerfully, carrying small bags with fruit bread and snacks inside.
Yuta rose and welcomed them in.
That day, Kurosaki Yuzu wore her new school uniform. It resembled a sailor outfit: a short skirt ending at her thighs, white calf-length socks that showed a strip of pale skin, a long-sleeved white blouse with a red scarf, and a small hairpin shaped like a strawberry in her hair. The school emblem was embroidered on her chest pocket.
"Mr. Yuta, how is it? I waited to wear the new uniform so you could see it first." Yuzu blinked, smiling with open expectation.
Yuta gently patted her head. "Yuzu looks beautiful no matter what she wears."
"Hehe~" Yuzu closed her eyes happily, enjoying his gesture.
Next to her, Kurosaki Karin wore the same uniform but with her black hair tied into a simple ponytail. She crossed her arms and looked away casually, though her posture pushed forward the curve of her chest slightly beneath the white blouse, making her figure appear more defined alongside her flat stomach toned by regular training.
By contrast, Yuzu's body was more delicate, her uniform more modest, with the blouse hem covering her waist and skirt in softer lines.
