Chapter 109 - Clan Master Ning

Chapter 109: Clan Master Ning, You Don't Want Anything to Happen to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, Do You?

One would think Qian Xunji cared so much about Qin Xuan, his convenient second brother. In reality, he was only thinking about the benefits of destroying the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan: a glorious record during his tenure as Supreme Pontiff, and the acquisition of the clan's immense wealth and prestige.

Unfortunately for him, he was dealing with Qian Daoliu, an honest man who valued stability and adhered to a knightly spirit.

"Improper," Qian Daoliu said, his voice firm. "Gu Rong only conspired with Ning Fengzhi through a spirit power transmission; he did not act on it. Moreover, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan was invited by our Spirit Hall. If we destroy them without concrete evidence, I fear we will lose credibility throughout the world."

After he finished speaking, he sent a private transmission to Qin Xuan. Qian Xunji and the other Titled Douluo could only agree. The High Priest's strength and prestige were unmatched; not even the Supreme Pontiff dared to defy his orders.

On the arena floor, Qin Xuan's seven spirit rings—two yellow, two purple, two black, and one red—quietly ascended. He released his Martial Soul, and with a flash, he vanished.

"So fast!" That was the shared thought of Sword Douluo, Tang Tian, and Yu Yuanzhen.

In the blink of an eye, Qin Xuan had already appeared beside Ning Fengzhi, his sword raised. "Clan Master Ning," he said, "when a person's ambition and strength do not match, only destruction awaits."

Whether in the original story or now, Qin Xuan had long been annoyed with Ning Fengzhi. A support-type Spirit Master with no offensive power, he was weak yet loved to meddle. Qin Xuan would not tolerate him. An enemy in the making was better off dead.

"Not good," Sword Douluo thought. Seeing his clan master about to perish, his only option was to use his ninth Spirit Ability to force Jing Ni onto the defensive, then take advantage of the chaos to rescue his comrades.

However, before he could act, Qin Xuan's sword-wielding motion abruptly stopped. He had received Qian Daoliu's transmission: "Xuan'er, stop. Tomorrow is the Sect Competition. If you act now, it will damage Spirit Hall's reputation. I will have Ning Fengzhi give you an explanation afterward."

Knowing that persuading Jing Ni is useless, he directly orders me? This old fellow... Qin Xuan glanced toward the Supreme Pontiff Palace, then chuckled at Ning Fengzhi. "Clan Master Ning, you are very lucky. Someone just told me not to kill you, and I dare not disobey."

"However, not killing you doesn't mean I can't kill Gu Rong," he continued. "I'll give you a chance: tell everyone what you and Gu Rong discussed via spirit power transmission. If you do, I'll spare his life. But don't try to twist the facts. My wife's mental force is unfathomable; transmissions have no secrecy in front of her."

He then turned to Sword Douluo with a sweet smile. "Senior Sword Douluo, I seemed to sense your aura locking onto me just now. Were you planning to attack?"

"Sneak attacks are despicable, but I am the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan's guardian Douluo. If you want to kill my Clan Master, I cannot stand idly by," Sword Douluo admitted frankly. He wasn't confident he could rescue them in front of Jingni, Chrysanthemum, and Ghost Douluo.

"No, I don't mean to blame you," Qin Xuan's smile faded. "Among the Upper Three Clans, you are the only one I respect. As a sign of that respect, I can give you one chance to act. No one else will interfere in our duel."

The entire venue was once again in an uproar. Too arrogant! How can a Spirit Saint contend with a level 95 Titled Douluo?

Sword Douluo's face was solemn. "Then what's the price?" His intuition told him that Qin Xuan was not boasting.

"As the price," a clear, cold voice cut in, "I will personally visit your Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan and wait there. This is the price for attacking my husband."

It was Jing Ni. The oppressive air was suddenly filled with the pungent smell of romance.

"Hey, hey, wife, aren't you too overbearing? Wouldn't that make me a kept man?" Qin Xuan said with a smile.

"I'm happy to let you be," she replied coolly. "I'm putting it out there now: whoever dares to touch you, I will wipe out their entire clan. Even if the emperors of the Two Great Empires come, I'll say the same thing."

"Senior Sword Douluo, it seems today's duel can't begin," Qin Xuan shrugged, speaking words that would make anyone envious. He then turned to Ning Fengzhi, an innocent smile on his handsome face. "How about it, Clan Master Ning? You wouldn't want anything to happen to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, would you?" The last part of the sentence was a private transmission.

"You..." Ning Fengzhi felt a suffocating pain in his chest, almost spitting out a mouthful of blood. This handsome, harmless-looking young man was even more shameless than him. He not only wanted to kill, but to destroy a person's spirit. If he admitted the plot, his clan would be utterly disgraced.
