Chapter 1 - The Shire

In the midst of the boundless void.

A golden meteor streaked from beyond countless universes, heading towards the depths of chaos.

But just as it passed a magnificent universe, a supreme will from within the cosmos cast its gaze upon it, accompanied by waves of music, sacred, supreme, and majestic.

With just one glance, the golden meteor was seen through by him.

And so, the meteor suddenly changed direction, drawn and integrated into this universe.

An unprecedented new note appeared, bringing a new melody to this world, composed of a grand symphony, adding a touch of vibrancy to the originally magnificent movement.

… …

"Hey, sir, wake up!"

Waking from his slumber, Luke heard a voice.

Opening his eyes, he saw a wilderness of green trees.

Before him was a person looking at him with concern.

Luke was a bit confused; shouldn't he be sleeping at home? Why was he lying in the wild?

Also, who was this foreigner in front of him?

With questions in his mind, he directly asked.

"Who are you?"

"Uh, I am Bilbo, Bilbo Baggins, sir."

Bilbo Baggins? Why did that sound a little familiar?

Suddenly, he froze, his eyes wide, somewhat in disbelief.

How could he, a person whose English grades fluctuated around the passing line even in school, suddenly understand what this person was saying!

He even spoke in the other party's language, as if it were his native tongue, an instinct.

When he stood up with a feeling of surprise and doubt, he realized that Bilbo, in front of him, was less than half his height.

Dwarf?

He didn't look like one.

Upon closer inspection,

He found that this short person in front of him had a pair of pointed ears, and his large feet were not wearing shoes, but rather had thick pads and fur.

This was not a known human race at all!

Connecting this with his name, an absurd guess sprang from his mind.

"You're a Hobbit?!"

The simple Hobbit nodded sincerely.

"Then where is this?"

"This is the Shire, Hobbiton in the Shire, sir."

Luke completely gave up hope.

Good heavens, what in the world was going on?

How did he, upon waking up, transmigrate, and to such a dangerous world at that?

One must know that here there were not only extraordinary species like Orcs, Trolls, and Elves, but also Wizards, Dragons, Balrogs, and Maia, who were lesser gods, as well as the god-level Valar, and even the creator Iluvatar.

How could an ordinary person like him survive here?

This was simply a hell-difficulty start!

Bilbo looked at the human in front of him, his expression constantly changing like a palette, and couldn't help but quietly retreat a few steps.

This human seemed a bit mentally unstable.

But as a kind and friendly Hobbit, he couldn't bring himself to abandon someone.

"Uh, sir, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, I just can't find my way home!" Luke said with a wry smile.

"Are you lost?"

Bilbo asked in surprise,

"Perhaps you could buy a map in the town; they sell maps of areas outside the Shire there."

Luke shook his head dejectedly and weakly,

"My home is very far away, perhaps I'll never reach it in my lifetime."

Bilbo's expression was bewildered, somewhat unable to comprehend how far the distance he spoke of was.

But looking at this human, enveloped by feelings of loneliness and sadness, the kind Hobbit was at a loss, unsure how to comfort him.

"Uh, sir, I mean, would you perhaps like to be my guest?"

Luke raised his head, a hint of surprise appearing in his sorrowful expression.

Being looked at like that by the other party, Bilbo felt a bit embarrassed.

"We rarely have outsiders in the Shire. If you have nowhere else to go, you can stay with me for a few days."

Luke immediately showed a grateful expression and readily agreed.

"Thank you for your hospitality, Mr. Bilbo Baggins, you are truly a good person!"

Being praised, Bilbo was very embarrassed.

"Cough, then please follow me, sir."

Saying that, he slung the fishing rod, which was more than twice his length, over his shoulder, and with the other hand, carried the fishing bucket, leading the way.

And Luke, walking behind him, his sad expression suddenly vanished, and he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Although his emotions were genuine, earlier it was mostly an act for Bilbo.

Only to gain the sympathy and shelter of this Hobbit.

After all, he had transmigrated alone to this strange world.

If no one took him in, he would probably have to sleep in the wilderness.

Moreover, as far as he knew, Bilbo Baggins, in a sense, could be said to be one of the protagonists of this world.

No matter what his future plans were, being near the protagonist would offer more opportunities and choices.

Following the winding path, they passed by Hobbit houses one after another.

These houses were very characteristic of Hobbits, mostly buried in hills, with roofs of grassy slopes, round wooden doors painted in light green, light yellow, or light blue, and gardens full of blooming flowers in front of the houses.

They were like rabbit holes from a fairy tale.

The Hobbits passing by all curiously poked their heads out of their gardens, observing the human following Bilbo.

Bilbo, uncharacteristically, did not actively greet these neighbors, and even unconsciously quickened his pace.

Luke, on the other hand, didn't care about being watched at all, and actively smiled and nodded at these Hobbits.

The two arrived at a cave-like building at the end of the path, with a wooden sign hanging at the gate, which read "Bag End."

This was Bilbo Baggins's home.

The garden at Bag End was neat and beautiful, clearly well-cared for by its owner.

"I forgot to ask your name, sir, what is your name?" Bilbo asked after opening the door.

"My name is Luke… Peterson?"

Just as Luke was about to say his name, the name Luke suddenly popped into his mind, and his mouth unconsciously spoke it.

As if that was his name all along!

What was going on?

Luke's heart trembled, when did he get this name?

Bilbo didn't notice Luke's strangeness, and as he entered, he reminded him, "Alright, Luke, please remember to duck your head a bit when you come in, as you know, you humans are much taller than us."

"Bang!" Luke, without paying attention, directly hit his head on the doorframe, instantly clutching his head and crying out in pain.

"Um, Mr. Luke, are you alright?" Bilbo asked with concern and a hint of suppressed laughter.

"I'm fine!" Luke rubbed his head, waving his hand.

Now he couldn't afford to overthink things anymore. This Hobbit hole was a bit unfriendly to his height of one meter eighty-five. He could only lower his head and bend his waist, fearing he would hit the beam again.

Unable to figure it out, he simply stopped thinking and found a seat to sit down.

Bilbo, meanwhile, darted into the kitchen to prepare to entertain Luke.

[Hogwarts Sign-in System: Location Shire - Hobbiton - Bag End, do you wish to sign in?]

A text box appeared out of thin air before Luke's eyes.

"What the hell?!"

Luke was startled.

"What's wrong, Mr. Luke?" Bilbo poked his head out of the kitchen.

"N-nothing!" Luke realized the other party hadn't seen the text box in front of him, and immediately shook his head after reacting.
