"Ohhh!"
A series of gasps rang out from the spectators.
The reversal was too fast!
Just moments ago, the Hufflepuffs were suffering a heavy blow, but in the blink of an eye, Fairy Tail was ambushed and had two members eliminated.
Mrs. Weasley, who was just moments ago proud of her sons, suddenly changed her expression and began to shout furiously, "Fred! George! You two useless boys! If this were a real battle, you'd both be dead! All you ever think about is how to prank people, why didn't you think to make some protective gear for yourselves?!"
She was clearly thinking of her own battles against Voldemort and the Death Eaters a decade ago.
Victor, sitting beside her, shook his head with a wry smile as he watched the screen. He hadn't expected the two of them to be so easily eliminated. However, it wasn't entirely their fault.
The entire Fairy Tail team had very little combat experience, and their vigilance was extremely poor. It was normal to be ambushed in a real battle. Luckily, this was a tournament where friendship came first and competition second. If it were a battle to the death, those two would have been done for.
"Luna, Sonia. You two are up. And remember, don't be as careless as these two," Victor said to the two substitutes, pointing to the twins who had been sent back and were lying on the ground in a strange position, fast asleep.
It was clear that the Stupefy spells from Ivanna and Marietta had sent the two mentally exhausted boys into a deep sleep.
So, Luna and Sonia immediately entered the Wizard's Canyon and rushed to the battlefield as fast as they could.
Meanwhile, back in the Wizard's Canyon…
"Fred! George!" Realizing that her teammates had been ambushed, Hermione shouted anxiously, but all she could do was watch her teammates disappear before her eyes.
Before she could recover from the frustration of losing her teammates, several silent spells flew towards them again.
"Look out! They're behind us!" Penelope warned, casting a defensive charm in front of Hermione and Cedric. "Protego!"
The two spells were directly blocked. Then, Penelope immediately cast Incendio in the direction where the spells came from, forcing two figures out of the bushes.
"Immobulus!" Seeing the attackers, Cedric immediately tried to take them out while they were in mid-air. However, even though his spell hit the two in mid-air, a transparent blue light flashed on Ivanna and Marietta's bodies the next second, and they flew past unharmed.
It turned out that the three young eagles not far away had cast Protego on the two of them, which directly negated Cedric's Immobulus.
Now, in the sky above the Wizard's Canyon, Anthony Goldstein, along with Young Eagle A and Young Eagle B, flew over to meet up with Ivanna. He immediately asked, "Ivanna, what should we do now?"
"Take advantage of their small numbers and focus on eliminating them!" Ivanna replied without hesitation. She didn't choose to avoid them and come up with another plan to fight them.
To be honest, without the magic of the magic circle, the Fairy Tail team's overall combat power wasn't that much different from the young eagles.
So, as long as Ivanna and the others focused their efforts and eliminated at least one member of the Fairy Tail team in a short amount of time, they would have a numbers advantage for the rest of the match.
"Don't fight in the air. We can take advantage of the trees. We must eliminate all three of them before Fairy Tail's two substitutes arrive," Ivanna spoke quickly, giving her orders. "Just like we practiced before, four-and-one, separate them and defeat them one by one. The victory belongs to Ravenclaw. Let's go!"
After she finished speaking, the five young eagles immediately used the Disillusionment Charm to hide in the forest.
On Fairy Tail's side, since they had no way of countering the Disillusionment Charm, Cedric, Hermione, and Penelope were all on high alert, not daring to make a move.
"We have to wait for Luna and Sonia to arrive. The Ravenclaws' combat skills and teamwork are terrifying after Victor's training. If we make a move with our small numbers, we might all get eliminated," Cedric said, gripping his wand tightly, ready for battle.
"But it might not be that easy," Hermione said with her back to Cedric. "We plan to defend and wait for Luna to arrive, but the Ravenclaws may not want us to just wait here peacefully."
"Victor once taught us the tactic of separating and eliminating them one by one. When the fighting starts, no matter what, we must not separate too far. If we get separated, we'll be fighting with one against four," Penelope reminded them.
And a moment later, just as they expected, the five Ravenclaws began their attack. Four spells flew towards the trio at the same time.
Cedric instinctively shouted, "Get down!"
The next second, the spells flew right over their heads.
Before the three of them could get up and retaliate, several more spells came flying towards them. The three were forced to scatter and hide behind cover, while still firing spells in the direction where their opponents might be. The Ravenclaws' numbers advantage was slowly starting to show.
The spells flying at them made it impossible for Hermione and the others to get up. They couldn't pinpoint the exact location of their opponents. They could only take advantage of a few openings to fire a few spells in the direction their opponents might be.
"Hermione, Cedric, stay where you are, don't run away!" Penelope shouted from behind the roots of a large tree, as she fired spells.
Hermione was hiding behind a large rock. After a few exchanges, she realized something was off. The opposing team seemed to be deliberately avoiding attacking from one direction. Realizing that there was probably a trick, Hermione shouted to Cedric, who was not far away, "Cedric!"
Cedric nonchalantly fired a spell outward and looked up. Hermione held up two fingers and then made a "hammering" motion. Cedric immediately understood what Hermione meant. He gave her a thumbs-up and raised his wand.
"Homenum revelio!"
During a lull in the opponent's attacks, Hermione got up and cast a spell in the direction where she had felt something was off.
Sure enough, the spell created ripples in the empty air. Young Eagle A, who was hiding behind the silent charm and Disillusionment Charm, was revealed.
Cedric saw this and immediately cast Stupefy, and Young Eagle A flew away, eliminated.
"Nice!" Hermione and Cedric cheered.
"Hermione, you cover us!" Cedric decided to continue with their strategy of finding the Ravenclaws one by one. "Penelope, let's keep doing what we were doing. As soon as Hermione hits one of them, we'll follow up with a spell!"
"Got it!" Penelope immediately agreed.
But at that moment, for some reason, the Ravenclaws' attacks suddenly weakened, and a pungent, thick smoke began to drift towards them.
"Cough, cough! Where did this smoke come from?!" Hermione asked, covering her nose.
"Victor taught us that if we encounter a defense that we can't break, we should try to set green plants on fire to create a lot of smoke. This way, we can not only provide cover for ourselves and our teammates but also force the opponent out of their hiding spot," Penelope explained.
"What kind of messy things are you teaching them, Master," Cedric said with a wry smile. "Hermione, can you use your sky magic to blow away this smoke?"
"I can try," Hermione said, and she inserted her wand into the ground.
A deep blue magic circle began to form and expand. A moment later, a tornado rose from the ground and quickly swirled all the smoke into a ball that dissipated above the dense forest. Their vision became clear again.
Meanwhile, on Ravenclaw's side…
Seeing that their smoke tactic didn't work, Anthony became anxious and asked, "Ivanna, what do we do now? If this continues, Fairy Tail's two substitutes will be here."
"No choice. Fly and do a massive bombardment," Ivanna thought for a moment and replied with a grim expression.
At first, she had planned to use attacks from different directions to force Hermione and the others to spread out, and then focus their efforts on eliminating one or two of them. But she didn't expect the opponents to stay put and not get flustered.
This was most likely because Penelope, who was also a Ravenclaw, had seen through their plan. So, realizing that her plan had been foiled, Ivanna decided to go with plan B.
Young Eagle A was the "one hidden" in the "four-and-one" strategy. He was responsible for lurking and assassinating.
As long as he could get close enough to the opponent and launch a surprise attack while they were not paying attention, they would have a high chance of eliminating one of them.
By doing this, they would not be at a disadvantage, even if they were from different teams.
