MHGA Chapter 179 – Spectacular! Absolutely Spectacular!
Completely caught off guard, Himmel found himself pursued and surrounded by a crowd. It was only thanks to his steadily returning peak-level strength that he managed to shake them off, finally stopping—covered in dirt from having crawled out of his grave—and staring dazedly at his reflection in the water.
Light-blue hair. That same devastatingly handsome face from his youth. A body that felt like it had returned to its prime…
Was this all due to that Hunter Gathering Hub?
Himmel scratched his head, clearly troubled. "No—if that's the case, I shouldn't have run earlier! Now even if I want to return and say I've been resurrected, the chance is gone!"
After all, if he went back now and claimed to be the Hero returned from the dead, he'd probably just be accused of being some demon using illusion magic to impersonate the Hero…
Still…
Himmel admired his own reflection on the water's surface. "Damn, I really was ridiculously good-looking when I was young."
"Looks like I'll have to clean up a bit when I go see Frieren."
So said Himmel, not forgetting the most important reason he had returned this time:
To find out how much time had passed since his death.
"Hm?" Only then did Himmel notice—he was still holding his fake Hero's Sword.
Even after who-knows-how-long buried with him in the grave, the sword looked just like it had in the past…
Himmel had wanted to praise his trusty old companion, but after so long in the grave, the sword's surface had developed some slight rust.
"Just how many years has it been…?"
Back at the Gathering Hub, Kairo Retsu had prepared a full spread—sofas, popcorn, chips, cola, Fanta—before settling in comfortably to rewatch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3 with Joseph.
That was when Joseph suddenly realized: in addition to Kars, there was also DIO—lurking deep in the sea—waiting for him.
That thought alone gave Joseph a headache.
The moment his soul left his body on screen, Joseph felt his heart jump into his throat. Thankfully, he lived—thanks to Jotaro defeating DIO and reviving him.
"Spectacular! Absolutely spectacular!" Kairo turned to Joseph with an excited expression. "This is the face I wanted to see! So? Feeling even a tiny bit hopeful about your amazing future?"
"…I just feel like I have even more crap to deal with…" Joseph covered his face. "Why does everyone else get Stands that can stop time, and mine's just a glorified long-distance camera?!"
"And one of those 'everyone else' is my grandson… my actual grandson! And now, I've got to wipe out the source of all vampires! Take down Kars and save the world! Is there anyone more miserable than me?!"
"Uh…"
Kairo's expression suddenly turned complicated. "Actually… your great-granddaughter is even—"
"Okay! That's enough!!" Joseph had grasped the full weight of how bleak and grueling his future really was.
The moment he learned there were "many more parts," he should've guessed…
For now, he just needed to focus on defeating Kars.
While Kairo and Joseph were talking, a dirt-covered figure suddenly appeared before them.
Kairo looked up, immediately sensing something was off. "Huh?! Himmel?! Why are you young again?! And what's with all the dirt?!"
"I'd like to know that too… but I did confirm the time. Also, there were some… complications." Himmel sighed. "Got any clean clothes I can borrow?"
About ten minutes later, Himmel had washed up and now sat in the dining hall, wearing Kairo's oversized T-shirt and shorts.
"Ah, Hunter Himmel," Granny Felyne greeted him with a warm smile the moment she saw him. "Looks like the special Felyne Meal worked. The Hunter's body's become all strong and healthy again."
"Maybe a little too healthy…" Himmel noted that his mindset felt noticeably younger too. "This is kind of weird… all from just one meal?"
"What are you saying!" Kairo suddenly got fired up. "Take it back! I hate that! This is the sacred sanctuary of Hunters! Granny Felyne is our savior!"
He proclaimed with righteous fervor:
"There is one and only one absolute law that all Hunters must know! The supreme truth of all Hunters!!!"
"FELYNES CAN DO ANYTHING!!!!"
Then, just as quickly, Kairo's mood shifted and he flopped back down into his seat, turning to Himmel:
"So after checking your timeline—what year is it now in the Himmel Era?"
"Himmel Era… Fine, let's go with that. I checked the date. It's around Year 28 of the Himmel Era now," Himmel replied, adopting Kairo's phrasing. "Hard to believe… just a blink, and thirty years have passed."
"Too bad I can't see Heiter again," Himmel sighed.
"Year 28? Then that's right when Frieren's about to invite Stark into the party, and when they took out Aura, yeah?" Kairo scratched his head. "So…"
"I'm heading out to find Frieren." Himmel's voice was calm and resolute. "Now that I've been given a second chance, I won't let it pass me by."
"Just that… a few complications have come up…"
With a pained expression, Himmel told Kairo and Joseph how he'd been mistaken for a grave robber.
"…Is it just me," Joseph muttered to Kairo, "or has he gotten a bit less reliable since turning young again?"
"Honestly, the flashbacks in the anime already showed it, didn't they?" Kairo whispered back. "The old guy was pretty reckless in his youth…"
"So let me get this straight," Kairo turned to Himmel. "In the short time you were back, you not only dug up your own grave, but also got mistaken for a grave robber…"
"You missed the one perfect chance to declare yourself as the resurrected Hero, panicked and ran, and now even if you try to go back, they'll just think you're some demon using illusion magic…"
"Then when asking people about the date, someone recognized the Hero's Sword in your hand—but didn't recognize you, and now you're officially wanted for grave robbery, accused of stealing the Hero's Sword from the Hero's own grave…?"
"So…"
Kairo scratched his head.
"In just a few hours, you went from the revered, departed Hero, to the wanted grave robber who robbed his own grave and stole the Hero's Sword?"
"…Spectacular! Absolutely spectacular!!"
