News from within the Dungeon spread outside, and once it did, the entire world fell into chaos.
The unsealing of demons in the Dungeon, the mutation of the Dungeon, and the abnormal phenomena that had emerged—
The overwhelmingly powerful dungeon master had conjured unimaginably fearsome monsters out of thin air. The Dungeon's barrier had already been shattered earlier by Marushil's Winged Serpent, and its current state was on the brink of collapse.
Half the island had already been consumed by the Dungeon. Troops had arrived on the island, and Kakabrud's beloved soldiers were currently fending off the monsters that had emerged from the Hell Dungeon.
Were it not for the fact that the monsters seemed strangely restrained and hadn't attacked anyone, the damage would likely have been catastrophic by now.
Dungeons across the world had also intensified due to this upheaval, and magic energy was now gushing outward from them.
The boundary between the Dungeons and the outside world had grown increasingly blurred due to the upheaval on the island.
Nearly every army capable of reaching the site had already been dispatched.
All nearby barrier mages were now rushing toward the island, preparing to use new barriers to seal off the anomaly.
"The most important thing now is to kill that dungeon master! We can't let him keep creating monsters!!"
"If this continues any longer…"
"The world really will be destroyed!"
"Kill the dungeon master Laios!!!"
Thanks to the communication magic, the world had now reached a consensus.
To seal away this world-ending crisis, and… to kill the dungeon master within the Dungeon—Laios!
The name of the dungeon master Laios… was now known across the land.
"Achoo—"
At this moment, sitting atop the head of the Serpent King Dragon, Laios was feeling a bit dragonsick while holding his newly acquired Savage Deviljho Great Sword.
The Serpent King Dragon had been circling the area for some time. Once its magical energy had accumulated fully, it would pierce the barrier above in one strike…
But Laios couldn't shake the feeling that countless eyes filled with fear were fixated on him—and strangely, it felt kind of good…
"Achoo, it's really cold up here on the Serpent King Dragon's head."
Laios sneezed again and tried to curl up tighter for warmth.
"Laios, can you hear me?"
In the gathering voice channel, Kairo Retsu's voice echoed in Laios's ears, followed by the screams of Marushil and the others: "We're on the Serpent King Dragon's back, about 200 meters behind you. How are you feeling?"
"Cold…" Laios replied. "How are Marushil and the rest?"
"They're fine, just scared. Oh, and Kabur seems to have made contact already. I even had the monsters keep an eye on the people in the Dungeon to prevent any panic-fueled fighting and ensure everyone's safety," Kairo Retsu said cheerfully. "What about Joseph and Shield Hero? How are things on your end?"
"Still… recovering," said Naofumi Iwatani. "It feels awful to have your desires consumed like that."
"Just how big is this Serpent King Dragon you made?!!! This thing is way bigger than 400 meters, right?!!!"
Kazuma screamed in the voice chat, "I just came to when this monster was right in front of me! You owe me compensation for emotional trauma!!!"
"I'll compensate you with a pretzel!" Kairo Retsu snapped. "Out of all the Hunters, your desires were the most unimpressive! Summoning all those Succubus Mosquitoes—what the hell was that for?! You've embarrassed all Hunters!"
"What man doesn't like succubi?!" Kazuma shouted back, righteously indignant. "Then explain this—why did all those message-delivering Succubus Mosquitoes end up looking like beastgirls or dragongirls?!"
"What's wrong with being a perverted man?!" Kairo Retsu said defiantly. "I only committed the sins all men are destined to commit!"
"Grand Guildmaster, just how big is this Serpent King Dragon you created?" Joseph narrowed his eyes as he looked toward the massive beast in the distance, trying to gauge its size.
A normal Serpent King Dragon was around 440 meters in length… But as for this one…
"Of course it's the biggest! An ancient Serpent King Dragon at 2,200 meters long!" Kairo Retsu proudly declared in the gathering voice channel. "Most of the Serpent King Dragon's body is still underground right now! Once the mountain gets tall enough, it'll burst out of the Dungeon in one go!"
"I'm going to let the entire world witness the sight of a 2,200-meter Serpent King Dragon stretching its full body across a mountaintop!" Kairo Retsu said with fervor.
"Somehow… I feel like the ruckus we're causing is even bigger than the Winged Lion's…" Naofumi Iwatani said with a sigh. "But… having your wish fulfilled really does feel nice."
"It's kind of empty, becoming a dungeon master," Laios muttered to himself, sitting alone atop the Serpent King Dragon's head. He scratched his head as he joined the conversation.
"Laios, do you really know what's been done to you right now?" Kazuma asked, trying to persuade Laios to see through Kairo Retsu's treacherous schemes.
"You've been turned into a dungeon master who's going to destroy the world! The whole world sees you as their enemy and will try everything to kill you!" Kazuma exaggerated dramatically. "And then, tons of heroes will show up, trying to take you down—each with their own harem and weird equipment…"
"What kind of light novel hero are you even talking about?!" Kairo Retsu interjected. "And anyway, aren't you a hero too? The kind with a goddess, the highest-grade cheat-code hero!"
"Urusai!! Aqua's the kind—Aqua's the kind that… doesn't even count as a cheat!!!" Kazuma's voice was on the verge of tears.
"To stand against the world…" Laios's voice carried a hint of excitement. "Ooh! That sounds amazing!"
"Why are you getting excited?! Are you really a dungeon master, Laios?!!!" Kazuma shouted. "Don't tell me you're actually enjoying this dungeon master gig!"
"Ahahahaha! Give it up, twisted Kazuma!" Kairo Retsu declared proudly. "Laios is one of ours! It's fine! As long as the final result is happiness, a little bit of complication along the way is no big deal!"
"This is way more than 'a little complication.' Who knows how many people will be traumatized after today…" Naofumi Iwatani sighed. "Still, I can't really criticize—it's the only way to solve this."
"Well then…"
Kairo Retsu grinned and announced to all the Hunters in the gathering voice channel:
"I'm breaking through the Dungeon. The next mission is…"
"Hunt the Winged Lion!"
