Chapter 129 - MHGA Chapter 129: Demon King's Advisor—Kabru

"At this moment—proclaim the name of the Demon King Laios!!!!!!!"

Countless monsters soared through the dungeon, repeating that very phrase.

Before long, those monsters—capable of mimicking human speech—had reached the skies above the elves and adventurers.

Harpy-like beasts, incubi mosquitoes, parrots, and similar creatures swarmed together into a massive flock.

The sheer number alone was enough to make the adventurers shudder in fear. But now—

All of these monsters were repeating the exact same words in unison:

"At this moment—proclaim the name of the Demon King Laios!!!!!!!"

"N-No… it looks like… the worst-case scenario has come to pass…"

The elves stared upward, fear etched across their faces, all eyes fixed on the rapidly rising mountain.

Slithering atop that mountain, the colossal Najarala coiled and twisted, dislodging massive boulders as it moved.

Even at this distance, its terrifying presence could be felt—an overwhelming pressure born of sheer size and brute force.

They had never seen a monster like this.

Such a creature should not exist in this world—no record in any bestiary described anything like it.

And yet now… it had been created by a demon.

Created… by the new dungeon master.

"LAIOS!!!!!!"

Flaméla stared furiously at the head of the Najarala.

She had just heard from the elves operating the familiars what Laios looked like atop the Najarala.

Using a telescope, she immediately spotted him—Laios, clad in armor like a Demon King, standing prominently atop the monster's head.

"We should've just killed him when we had the chance!!" Flaméla shouted in a rage.

"We never should've given them an opening! We should've eliminated them immediately!!"

"Now he's the dungeon master—and he's summoned that many monsters!!!!!!"

Flaméla grabbed her short hair in frustration.

"We have to report this to Her Majesty at once!"

"Hey, you!!!"

In the Canary squad, the hot-headed elf named Freche grabbed Kabru by the collar.

She was one of the raven familiar controllers, and had just seen Laios's appearance atop the Najarala up close—his Demon King figure, and the Najarala itself. In her panic, she seized Kabru and demanded:

"You said it yourself! That the one who handed over the Mad Sorcerer to you was Laios, didn't you?!"

"What exactly did Laios tell you?!" Freche yelled.

Kabru, watching the scene unfold, couldn't help but question whether he'd trusted the wrong people.

Was all this really necessary just to lure the demon out of the dungeon?

But… would those people have had any reason to lie to him?

What should he do now?

Kabru looked around and noticed the expressions on everyone's faces.

As the monsters continued to proclaim Laios's name, fear began to spread—and with it, suspicion.

People started turning their attention… to Kabru, the one connected to Laios.

Would they attack him?

And if he fled… would they turn on Laios's companions?

Would they harm Shuro's group, or Namari and the beastkin?

No… before that—shouldn't he be thinking about his own safety?!

As Kabru spiraled into anxious thoughts, suddenly, a new phrase emerged among the monster chorus.

"Welcome… Chief Strategist of the Demon King's Army, Sir Kabru."

The sudden announcement left Kabru stunned.

A moment later, he saw dryads riding giant wolves charging toward him, shouting his name.

"Monster attack!!"

The elves and adventurers immediately prepared to defend themselves—but the monsters did not attack anyone.

They ignored the defenders entirely and swarmed straight toward Kabru.

In the next instant, while everyone was still reeling, claws burst up from the ground—grabbing both Kabru and Shisle, who'd been held by Freche, and dragging them underground.

"Don't run!! You are working with that Laios!!"

"Kabru!!!"

From within the crowd, Kabru's companion Lin shouted in panic.

Kabru was carried through the earth by a giant mole, who flung him back up to the surface… only now he was mounted on a massive direwolf, surrounded by a host of Dullahan knights.

"No! This isn't right! I don't even know what's going on…!"

Kabru shouted, panicked.

"Let me explain—please!!"

"Welcome… Chief Strategist of the Demon King's Army, Sir Kabru."

But before he could speak, he was already being hauled off by monsters—dragged toward the Najarala.

And around them, more monsters closed in—completely encircling the entire area.

Powerful monsters: Minotaurs, dragons, giant serpents…

Many adventurers were gripped by despair.

But soon, they realized—none of the monsters were attacking.

They simply surrounded them.

"We have no intention of harming any of you—including the members of the Canaries."

Amid the tension, a calm and rational voice suddenly rang out from the monster ranks.

The elves tried to pinpoint the source—when several figures emerged from the monsters…

Elves.

Canary members: Flaméla, Patadrille, Shifthes, and others.

"They" walked forth from within the monster horde—smiling as they addressed the group.

But the real Patadrille and others stared in outrage at the identical copies of themselves.

Soon, someone realized the truth:

"They're mimics! Those octopus things! They turned into elves!"

"We've come to deliver a message," said the mimic-elves, faithfully repeating the dungeon master's prepared speech.

"The Demon King only seeks to bring the Winged Lion to the surface, to fulfill its wish. No harm will come to anyone. Please remain calm. Do not fight amongst yourselves…"

"Don't use our faces to say something like that!!!"

Flaméla exploded in fury, unleashing powerful magic and tearing the mimics to shreds.

Yet the surrounding monsters didn't retaliate—they merely continued to encircle the group, silently watching.

"Inform Her Majesty."

Patadrille pulled out a communication fairy.

"We must report this anomaly to Her Majesty immediately…"

"The dungeon… might actually be breached."
