Have you ever felt like you have been wronged? That you got blamed for something that you didn't even do? Then you are wrong because the fact that you got blamed is your mistake.
You think that this is all bullshit, right? Lyra also thought like that because if she didn't think like that, then her birth was also a mistake that she had made.
Because as soon as she was born, she was abandoned at the door of the orphanage. Her mother left her because she was a defective alpha. How did she know that? Well, it was a fact that even the whole world knew of. So it was hard for Lyra to not know, and also she heard the worker of the orphanage talking about her.
Anyway, when she was just a child, she thought the world was sunshine and rainbows, as all the children did, and thought that if one wished for something sincerely, then it would be granted magically, and so, she wished with her whole heart that her mother would come back to her even because of the guilty of leaving her behind.
But it didn't take long for her to realize the reality and lose all of her hope, and after that she didn't even think of finding her, as she didn't even know the name of her mother, much less her face.
Still, she was grateful to her for sending her to this orphanage, which was quite good compared to the other orphanages. The head of the orphanage was kind, and the food was good. Of course, there was some problem between the children and the workers, but that was such a life.
The orphanage was quite famous and had many occasions where they got volunteers who brought many gifts and delicious food and snacks. So according to the workers, compared to other orphanages that had many cases of embezzlement or not having enough food, their orphanage was much better.
Anyway, Lyra wasn't the only child who got abandoned as soon as they were born. There was a child named Alex who, too, was in the same situation as her, and being the same as Lyra except that he was an omega, they quickly got closer.
But after some time, Lyra realized that other than that, there wasn't a single thing that was similar to each other. Alex was smarter than her, more clever than her, and also more mischievous than her. He got better results than Lyra without studying much and had a knack for making good pocket money, whether it was from part-time jobs or other miscellaneous ways.
Still, he was like an older brother to her. Lyra wasn't the hotheaded person, but with so many children and being in a strange situation, she got herself in fights from time to time, and Alex always came to her rescue.
Time passed, and soon the time came when they had to leave the orphanage, and Lyra soon realized how fucked up the whole world was.
Before leaving the orphanage, they were given a settlement money, but Lyra didn't know how and where it had gone. After that, Lyra and Alex did various odd jobs and finally were able to get themselves a small room for rent, but Lyra should have known after seeing the state of the building and place.
After the advance deposit was paid, the real owner—that was if he was telling the truth—came and threw them out. Of course, they went to the authorities, but they weren't able to do anything, as they also demanded the money before doing anything, and they had no choice but to sleep on the streets again.
But Alex was hell-bent and swore that he would teach those bastards a lesson and went to several authorities, but they made no effort to hide their annoyance and did not want to give face to two lowly orphans.
Lyra thought it was that time when times started to get wrong. Alex, out of anger, reached out to some person to do some kind of job. Lyra didn't understand but went along, as Alex was the brain and, well, also the muscles.
A few days passed, and Alex got possession of a small bag of white flour. Only after seeing those bags did Lyra seem to realize what he was planning to do. She didn't think for one second that Alex didn't know what those small bags contained when she knew as well. Back at the orphanage, one of the guys made a huge amount of money by selling these. Of course it was illegal money, though.
"I will do anything to teach those bastards a lesson. You don't worry, Lyra." Every time they got in a bad situation, Alex always told her not to worry, but this time his words weren't very comforting to Lyra.
"That's illegal, Alex. Do not cross the line no matter how fucked up we are right now."
"Just trust me." After seeing her not yielding, Alex slammed his fist on the ground. "Fuck, I can't be homeless again." Unlike Lyra, Alex was omega, so there was always fear when he slept close to someone.
"What if we got caught?" Seeing his state, Lyra knew that he wasn't in a good state of mind to think soundly.
"We won't if we do it better." Alex emphasized "we" as he pushed a bag in front of Lyra. Lyra could only swallow hard as she saw the look on his face.
"I think…" She wasn't able to speak when he cut her off. "Either you do this with me, or leave me alone and go your separate ways. Choose one."
Alex knew Lyra well. Since she was a child, she was kind and stupid; she would forgive him as long as he apologized to her once. And he was also very clever and realized how much she desired a family. So, how could she abandon the only person in this world who was like family to her? And he was right, as Lyra chose not to leave.
And hence they got themselves in a massive pile of shit.
