Chapter 5 - Chapter-4

Chapter 4: The Name of the Forsaken – Fury

Darkness clung to the forest beyond the broken walls of the underground lab. Moonlight spilled faintly across shattered glass, twisted metal, and splashes of dried blood. Amid the ruin, a black-furred beast stepped forward into the chill of night—eyes shimmering with an icy blue brilliance, fur matted from dried serum, and claws hardened like obsidian with streaks of cement-colored scars.

The beast breathed heavily. Not from exertion—but from the weight of two lives within one soul.

He was no longer Benjamin.

That name... that human name... belonged to a boy betrayed, broken, and buried beneath false accusations. A boy whose twin, Arthur, had committed the unforgivable and left Benjamin to rot in shame and silence. A name that died the moment the noose tightened and consciousness faded.

But he had awakened anew—reborn in a lab as a monster, a chimera. Part dark elf. Part wyvern. Part something else… something ancient. But above all, a black wolf—mangled and remade from a once majestic white wolf, a creature torn apart and pieced back together with cruelty and magic.

The memories of that wolf were still fresh—every lash of the whip, every cut, every needle that forced poison into its veins. Benjamin had watched it all unfold within his mind. He had felt it. That wolf had fought until its last breath, protecting others, resisting control. Until it was broken—its body mutated, its soul torn.

And now, only one consciousness remained. The wolf's instincts. Benjamin's mind. Fused in one existence.

The voice was mechanical, emotionless—but it stirred a fire inside him.

"Fury…" he whispered aloud. His voice was a raspy growl, not quite human, not quite beast.

"I'm no longer Benjamin. That name died with the lie. That name died with betrayal. I am what the world tried to erase. What they turned into a monster. So now, I wear that title with pride."

He raised his claw and stared at its jagged edge, then clenched it.

"I am Fury. The one they should have never created."

The system window flickered again.

The reality hit him.

He had barely escaped the lab. He hadn't even had time to bury the wolf's old body, now mangled and discarded like waste. All he could do was carry the weight of its suffering—and avenge it.

He sniffed the air.

The forest was full of life. Rodents. Insects. Predators. Prowlers. Some carried unnatural scents—products of the same experiments perhaps. One-Star Beasts. Likely failed chimeras, mutated animals that lingered near the lab for scraps or out of loyalty to their dead masters.

Good.

Fury's lips curled into a snarl.

He needed to hunt. Not just for the mission—but to prove he wasn't some caged experiment anymore. He needed to run, tear, howl—to let the world feel the storm inside him.

A low growl rumbled in his throat as he sprang into motion.

Every step made the earth tremble beneath him. The strength of his Royal Black Wolf blood surged under the moon. His limbs moved like flowing shadow, claws clicking against rocks, tail slicing through underbrush.

He caught his first prey quickly—a horned rabbit with two tails and glowing red eyes.

Fury pounced. One swipe. A spray of blood. The system dinged.

> [1/10] One-Star Beasts eliminated.

He grinned. It had begun.

But as he dashed into the darkness, deeper into the unknown, one thing was certain:

He was not just hunting.

He was evolving.

He was Fury.

And the world was about to learn what it meant to make a monster out of a martyr.
