The faint smile on Rimea's lips lingered after her last words.
"It seems," she said with a glimmer of amusement in her green eyes, "that I will enjoy my stay in Valkoron far more than I expected."
Aurelia regarded her calmly, the composure she carried like a quiet shield around her.
"I sincerely hope that you do," Aurelia replied. "Although Valkoron has never lacked activity, the palace has been particularly… lively these days. I would hate for our guests to find it dull."
"Oh, I highly doubt that will happen," Rimea said lightly. "From what I have seen already, boredom would be quite an achievement."
Levina let out a tired breath beside her.
"Please do not encourage her, Aurelia," she said, rubbing her temple as though already anticipating trouble.
"Whenever Rimea starts speaking like this, it usually means someone's peace is about to be ruined."
Rimea turned toward her with mock offense.
"You wound me, Levina."
