Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

"My Lady!"

A girl with long dark hair, which had white strands, tilted her head up. Her dark brown eyes sparkled as she heard the voice of a man standing far away from her. She was sitting under a tree in the garden of a big luxurious building which looked like an old-fashioned manor.

"Where am I?" Miera looked at herself—her body was transparent. As she looked around, she saw the girl. It was just a copy of her—Miera.

"Hey!..." Miera tried to step closer and tap the girl's shoulder, but it was no use.

"So they can't hear or feel my touch." Miera crouched down beside the girl.

"She is prettier." Miera stood up and started walking around.

There was a door in the middle of the garden. Before Miera could open the door, she opened her eyes in her bed. She looked at the clock — it was early for school, so she headed to the bathroom after opening the window for some fresh air. She felt a headache.

"I feel like I forgot something... important?" Miera shrugged it off and headed to the bathroom.

At school, Miera sat down at her desk near the window in the back while drawing doodles on her notebook. Everyone was minding their own business while the teacher was checking homework.

Miera saw a white-haired guy in the school garden looking around from the window. At first, she didn't care much, but she excused herself and quickly headed to the stairs. She saw the guy heading towards the stairs.

"..." She didn't even know why she was looking for him, yet continued staring as he went upstairs.

But he came back after a few seconds, looking at Miera. Miera noticed his red eyes. Then looked away.

"Hey. Why aren't you asking questions again?"

Miera looked behind, then at him.

"What?"

"What do you mean what?" The guy looked at her, annoyed.

"I'm sure I don't know you?" Miera looked at him, annoyed at his annoyed look.

"I should've known that. It's not your fault, but it's annoying, you know..." The guy sighed and then turned away and headed upstairs.

"Hey!" Miera called out.

"My name is Kieran, not 'hey' or 'weirdo'." Kieran left, leaving Miera there all alone with her mind.

Miera stood there, confused. But suddenly her brain went dizzy.

"Why am I here...? What am I even doing here? Weren't I just in class a few moments ago?"

Then she felt someone watching her. She looked around and saw a brunette girl with teary eyes watching her.

"AURELIA!" The girl ran towards Miera with her arms open. And before Miera could even move, the girl hugged her tightly.

"I thought I was never gonna see you again!" The girl sniffed while holding Miera tightly.

"I missed you. Did you miss me?"

Miera pulled herself away from the girl.

"Who are you?"

The girl looked at Miera, confused.

"What do you mean who am I? It's me?! Lydia!" The girl called Lydia stared at Miera.

"My name is Miera. I don't think I know you. I'm not the person you're looking for."

Lydia looked disappointed at Miera's words.

"Aurelia...? I mean... Okay, I'm sorry, Miera. Can we be... friends by any chance?"

Miera looked at Lydia as the girl looked at her with her big puppy eyes, which were still teary.

"I mean... sure?"

Lydia's eyes sparkled as soon as Miera accepted her request, and she wiped off her eyes.

"Everyone is gonna be so happy." Lydia murmured to herself as she looked away.

"Sorry?" Miera looked at her, and then she remembered the girl in her dreams.

"Wait. That Aurelia-she just looks like me? I've seen her in my dreams. Do you know her? Why are we alike? And why are you loo-"

"Wait, wait, calm down. I mean, I can explain it later." Lydia gave Miera a reassuring smile.

"By the way, do you know that white-haired guy? What were you two talking about?"

"White-haired guy? Who?" Miera looked at Lydia, confused, as she felt like she forgot something important again.

"The one you were talking with, of course?" Lydia looked at Miera with a confused look, tilting her head.

"I don't think I've seen a white-haired guy other than fictional characters." Miera looked around.

"And that is weird. Who is Aurelia, and why are we alike? I think I've heard her from someone too, but I can't remember now."

"Maybe from a white-haired guy... by any chance?" Lydia crossed her arms.

"I said I don't know a white hai-OH. You are right! How could I- Wait Lydia..your hand...is disappearing?"

"Ah... again... I hope next time we can at least take a look at the past." Lydia sighed like it was a normal thing now for her.

"Lydia-" Miera blinked as she looked around.

"What? Who's Lydia?" She felt shivers as she headed back to class.

On the way to the classroom, Miera saw a white cat with red eyes on the window. She looked around—there was no one—then she headed towards the cat slowly.

"Hey little cute thing. What are you doing here?"

The cat sat there and stared at Miera. Then jumped inside and started walking through the corridor.

"You shouldn't be here, little thing." Miera started following the cat, but he started running.

"Hey!" Miera rushed after him, then the cat stopped near a door right in the middle of the school corridor. Miera stood there for a moment, then headed towards the door. As she reached for the door handle, a teacher called from behind, causing Miera to turn around.

"Why are you not in class?" It was the math teacher, who was known to be the strictest teacher in school.

"Ah... I was going to the bathroom then I saw thi-" As Miera turned around, there was nothing—just the usual school corridor.

"I mean I saw a cat who jumped from the window so I wanted to help-"

"Go back to class." The teacher stared at Miera.

Miera quickly went back to class without looking back.

"I swear I saw a door. I should've slept more instead of looking at my phone." She sighed as she opened the classroom door, only to find the class empty. There was no one.

"Huh?" Miera stepped back and headed to the class next to them. She opened the door. It was empty. Then she quickly rushed to the teacher's room. It was empty.

The corridors were empty. There was no one. Then she saw the cat from the window in the garden. She rushed downstairs, but a pair of hands pushed her.
