Chapter 4: Blood Xenomorph
July 20, 2023 Author: Great Demon Spirit
Dennis still hadn't realized that falling into the hands of the guy before him would be a fate more painful than death.
"Tell me your account number, and I'll wire you a lot of money!" Dennis didn't understand the terror hidden in Du Wa's words and just spoke quickly, "Whatever your goal is, I can help you. I swear on the name of the Vampire Clan—"
"Enough. Clan or no clan, it's worthless in my eyes."
Du Wa cut him off, only walking over slowly after the dust of the battle had settled.
Four Messenger Xenomorphs against six vampires armed with firearms, resulting in two lightly injured. Such a casualty ratio was barely acceptable, as Messenger Xenomorphs were pitifully weak to begin with.
The Messenger Xenomorph is born from parasitizing low-level mammals like cats, dogs, cattle, and horses. They are born able to stand on all fours and spend most of their lives moving on all fours like their hosts, making them the lowest existence in the Xenomorph society's structure.
They have the lowest attack power, but slightly higher agility, which is a trade-off for their relatively small size—an upright height of about 2.2 meters.
Compared to types like the Drone Xenomorph and the Warrior Xenomorph, which can only move with their tails right after a chestburst and require several hours to rapidly develop and walk upright, the maturation speed of the Messenger Xenomorph is much faster.
The only praiseworthy trait is that the Messenger Xenomorph possesses the ability to actively spit blood, something the Drone Xenomorph and Warrior Xenomorph lack.
These four Messenger Xenomorphs were born from parasitizing ordinary, low-level animals, so one shouldn't hold high expectations for their combat capabilities.
Du Wa glanced at the dismembered policeman nearby.
"If I were you, I'd finish him off immediately. Blow his head off."
Du Wa said, "His body is already full of the vampire virus. He will gradually transform into a vampire, so it's best to kill him completely before the transformation."
George still held his gun up; it was the only power he could rely on.
As for the young men beside him? They were already scared stiff. It was the first time these youths had come into contact with a dark corner of this world.
"Vampires, vampires... There are really vampires in this world... and these monsters..." a young officer muttered to himself, staring blankly at the scene before him, unable to stop himself from vomiting.
The vampires, who couldn't even be killed by bullets moments ago, were now impaled by the Xenomorphs, flesh and blood splattering everywhere in an incomparably gruesome scene.
"It's more than just vampires. The wonders of this planet will exceed your imagination. It wouldn't be surprising if a demon or even a Deity appeared." Du Wa replied with a smile, his every move appearing exceptionally casual and natural.
If one were to ignore the terrifying Xenomorphs that constantly surrounded him as if he were their emperor, he had the potential to be a caring and warm-hearted guy.
"Sir, thank you—and your... companions, for saving our lives." George suppressed his wildly beating heart. The experience of the past few minutes had been too intense for him. He tried to keep his voice steady, but a slight tremor still crept in unintentionally. "I will deal with my colleague."
"Good. It's easier dealing with a discerning person like you. Officer, what's your name?"
"George Stacy."
Du Wa stroked his chin. That name, that age... hmm, it seemed this was Gwen's father.
"Sir, I still don't know your name. How do you plan to deal with these vampires?" George asked, mustering his courage.
Accompanied by the constant dripping sounds from the Xenomorphs' bodies—some of it was the vampires' blood, some of it was their own.
"You'll have a chance to know my name later. In any case, don't come here again. No matter who gave you the order, stay away from this area. The person who issued your command wants you dead."
Du Wa waved his hand dismissively.
While he might not possess the top-tier intellect of someone like Iron Man or Shuri, he still had basic deductive skills.
"Chief, this guy is raising strange creatures. Isn't that illegal too..." The officer finished vomiting, wiped his mouth, glanced at George, and started throwing up again.
"Well said. I love righteous individuals. However, I'll believe you if you arrest Tony Stark first."
Du Wa left, disappearing into the darkness with the Xenomorphs, leaving only a scene of utter chaos to prove that something unusual had just occurred here.
George looked down at his colleague, who had been bitten beyond recognition, paused in silence, and then shot him in the head.
"Chief!"
"Shut up, I know what I'm doing! This matter won't end here. I will hold that guy responsible!" George's face was ashen, his expression dark as water. He hated the bastard who gave him the command, causing him to lose a wonderful young colleague!
Transcendent events were never something that ordinary people with no preparation could handle. Even if they had to respond, they should have been told in advance, allowing them to bring enough manpower and weapons!
"Chief, you said before that the report was from animal rights activists."
"I lied. If it were just animal rights activists, the department wouldn't have sent just a few of us."
As for how to close this case on the surface... he'd just say the vampires did it. That's right, for these ghoulish things that drink human blood, it was also perfectly reasonable for them to capture a bunch of small animals to suck their blood.
And that stranger who commanded the strange creatures must also be an individual possessing transcendent power.
He even saved their lives from the vampires.
...
For Du Wa, saving a few police officers was just a minor interlude. The vampires he had captured were his real focus.
Along the way, he showed great concern for the vampires' well-being, genuinely afraid that they might die.
This show of concern left the dying vampires feeling flattered yet bewildered. One vampire took the opportunity to suggest that if the Xenomorphs let them down, they could still be saved.
Ignoring them completely, Du Wa brought them all the way back, entered the Underground Lair, and commanded the Xenomorphs to roughly toss the helpless fellows onto the ground.
Dennis hurriedly looked around and realized this place was like the nest of some underground monster, with strange, sticky substances everywhere.
A strange tube ran through the area, and below it, he saw three bizarre eggs. The things inside the eggs clearly sensed their arrival and immediately grew excited.
With just a single glance, Dennis instinctively felt a bone-deep chill, feeling as if he was being targeted by something terrifying.
"Six vampires, one by one."
Du Wa personally grabbed a vampire by the neck and forced him down in front of an egg.
Instantly, the egg opened up like a blossoming flower, four "petals" unfolding on top. Then, a strange creature that looked like a large spider crawled out.
Facehugger!
"Let me go! What are you trying to do?! Mmph..."
The vampire quickly became unable to speak. His entire face was enveloped by the Facehugger. He felt an unknown substance being injected into his body, and soon, his consciousness grew dim and he gradually fell asleep.
"W-what is this? What's happening?" Dennis watched, completely baffled. This was supposed to be a terrifying event, but he just couldn't understand it.
"You'll find out soon enough."
Du Wa maintained his psychic link to the Facehugger. Confirming the parasitism was successful, he was instantly overjoyed.
The success this time was extraordinarily significant. This was the first time a Facehugger had successfully completed parasitism on a special host.
What followed was a patient wait.
Du Wa himself was an extremely patient person, just like the Xenomorphs. To get an opportunity for a one-hit kill, they would lie in wait like inanimate objects for a very, very long time.
Finally, when the vampire woke up again, he looked bewildered. He shook his head, easily flicking away the remains of the Facehugger that covered his face.
"What did you do to me? Why is this thing dead?"
"Vampire, you should pay with your life for all the humans you've killed. The silver lining is that you've offered me your strong body. I will make good use of it."
Under the gaze of countless pairs of blood-red eyes, Du Wa raised his hand, extended his index finger, and pointed at the vampire from a distance.
Then, something happened that struck terror into the hearts of the other vampires.
A bizarre bulge appeared on the vampire's chest. Before anyone could react, a terrifying foreign object burst forth from his body, violently tearing apart the vampire's chest. Bathed in flesh and blood, it forcibly drilled its way out!
The despairing wails were like a melodious symphony, the violent convulsions a most praiseworthy dance.
The brand-new Xenomorph, having parasitized a vampire and seized its superior genes, was born. It let out its first shrill cry to the world, announcing that a completely new Transcendent system with infinite potential had officially descended upon the world.
