Chapter 8 - HP: Sacred Gear Chat Group - Chapter 42

"There is already a memory card inside. So only one more can go in? But there is only one player per card, right?" A male voice asked from a corner of the temporary hideout, distracting Harry from his analysis of the Ben's knife he had purchased from Gon and Killua.

Well, it wasn't like he was getting much out of it; he only got basic smithing understanding and how Nen clings to it. Not what he really wanted to learn, how to permanently imbue objects with Aura.

He wanted to learn how to craft powerful artifacts, and Nen was a good way to enhance the power of his enchantments and give his creations an edge over other artifacts.

It seems the only way to learn how to imbue Artifacts, at least naturally with Aura, was to learn to create something himself or study someone who does it.

At least there is another way that takes not as much effort, that he could pursue, and Phinks and Feitan have it right in front of them.

"We can't both play?" Phinks asked.

"We use Multitap! Now four more can play!" Feitan replied as he stuck something into the gaming console in front of him.

The console was something that reminded Harry of one from his own past, the PlayStation. Ironically, it's called Joystation.

As Feitan used his Aura on it, he vanished.

This Joystation was a special one, having the game Greed Island inside of it. A game that requires one to have his Nen awakened to play it.

A game where the person playing it would die if he died inside the game. Sword Art Online was cool before Sword Online.

Well, almost. This game is not played in a virtual world, but one got teleported to a place in the real world through Nen.

"Ohh, he is really gone!" Phinks exclaimed as he had watched Feitan disappear.

Harry wasn't the only one who had gotten interested in what the two of them were up to. "What was that?" Franklin asked as he approached with Machi, Shizuku, and Shalnark.

"Hmm? A Game! It's called Greed Island!" Phinks replied to the others as he noticed them, "Wanna give it a try? It might kill some time! There is room for two more players!"

"No thanks." Machi decided.

"If I feel like it." Franklin added.

Shrugging his shoulders, Phinks also disappeared as he put his save card into the multitab and used his Nen.

"What kind of game is it?" Shizuku asked curiously.

Shalnark had grabbed the Catalog for the Yorknew Auction laying besides the Console, but before he found the correct Page, Harry had replied, "Greed Island is a Game where you can really die."

"Really, how does it work?" Shalnark asked as he found the correct page and read through it with interest.

"Well, I was planning to play it myself, but it seems the two of them stole it before me. But I already did my research on it. There are quite a few copies on auction over the next few days. That game is a game for hunters. You actually met the son of one of its creators." Harry explained, "The dark-haired kid."

"The one with his father being one of the top 5 Nen users in the world?" Franklin asked if interested.

"That's the one! This game is proof of that statement. The whole dying part comes because it's somewhere in the real world. Meanwhile, the game itself is, according to my theory, a massive collaborative Nen ability combining the efforts of multiple users containing hundreds of different Nen abilities. It's on an island somewhere; it being restricted to the island is probably one of the conditions for it to work." Harry explained what he had come up with while studying Nen closer himself.

Greed Island was an impressive feat of Nen. Opening up so many possibilities. Especially collaborative Nen abilities are fascinating; such an ability seems to be multiple times more powerful than one created individually.

"Oh, why did you want to play it?" Shalnark asked if interested in the game itself.

"Well, for one, I want to use it for its original purpose. Training my Nen more. While I have a lot of raw power, I need to refine it more." Harry admitted it was the truth. He was far from having mastered his Nen, even with his raw power thanks to the different boosts he had gotten. "And secondly, well, the game has hundreds of Nen abilities contained in items. As far as I have learned, it is possible to bring some of them out if one finishes the game. Which means they should work on the outside world. I wanted to see whether I could bypass the condition of finishing the game with my ability."

"That makes sense. What kind of items are these? Anything that could help with the problem of the boss?"

"I don't think so? There is one item that heals the body to peak condition, but I don't think it removes Nen. Still, it's worth the shot." Harry replied, knowing that it wouldn't work.

"Maybe, it doesn't hurt to try." Shalnark mused, "You can use this console to play it. We will get some more to see whether there is something useful in the game."

What Harry hadn't shared was that he wanted to go to Greed Island, to not only try to see whether he could use his ability to bring the items out; each of the items in the game was its own Nen ability.

And there was a ton of ridiculous shit there. A What If Machine, pills that make you younger, that super healing magic, a castle with 10,000 people. All in the form of cards that one could use.

Even if he shouldn't be able to use them outside, he still could analyze each of the abilities. And he could study Nen inscriptions, a way to imbue items with Nen, as that seemed to have played a large role in creating that game.

"Sure, Shizuku, would you like to join me? I could use your help!" Harry said towards the black-haired girl with glasses.

"Why? I can't suck in Nen with Blinky, so I won't be able to help you steal the items in the game." She said confused.

"Oh, I know. You made it clear when you couldn't suck out Chrollo's Nen. But you can suck in energy like natural electricity or heat, right?" Harry asked if interested.

"As long as it isn't made of Nen or alive, then yes." She nodded.

That was so overpowered. Her limitations were just for this universe's restrictions. In every other universe, she had the ultimate defense, at least in theory.

"And if I told you Magic was real? Not Nen, which is based on Lifeforce. But a different form of energy called Magic?" Harry asked carefully.

"Then I should be able to use Blinky on it. But I have never heard of Magic."

"I am a wizard and a nen user! I can use Magic! See." Harry pulled out a wand and created a ball of light in front of himself.

Shalnark once again had gained interest in their discussion. "How do we know it's actually magic and not just another of your Nen abilities?"

"That's the problem right now. I am unsure whether Shizuku's limitation is based on whether she believes my magic is Nen or not. My best argument is the wide range of applications I have while using Magic, since I can use a ton of things with it. And Nen is usually limited to a handful of abilities related to a single concept or object. So Shizuku tries to suck in that ball of light." Harry was uncertain on how he should actually prove his magic in a world that used a different power system.

She nodded as she summoned Blinky and sucked the floating ball of light into the Nen vacuum cleaner.

"It really wasn't Nen. How fascinating. Are there more magic users in the world? What are your limits? Why haven't I heard of it before?" Shalnark asked with interest.

"Hmm, no, I am unique in this world; that's probably why you haven't heard of it. While I can do a lot, it's mostly restricted to the form of spells that accomplish one thing. You could consider each spell a small and simple Nen ability, like silencing a target, stunning it, or shooting a fireball. The most powerful spells can cause damage about the size of a building, I guess." Harry thought about it; Fiendfyre was probably the most destructive spell. "I can't revive Death or something like that, and no, I have no idea how to even start to create a spell that exorcises Nen. I am far away from that level yet."

"How unfortunate. But this world?" Shalnark added with an interested glint in his eyes.

"Sorry, that is something I can't share. Anyways, is Shizuku joining me?"

The girl thought about it for a moment before nodding. "Yes, I want to know more about your magic and want to know what you are planning."
