Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : First day of high school

:

At Shio High School, a boy named Kazuki Rei just wants to blend in, stay silent, and graduate quietly.

He's cold, distant, and totally uninterested in human interaction.

That is… until she showed up.

"Hi there! I'm Aira Tachibana. Nice to meet you!"

The blonde girl beamed at him, eyes sparkling with annoying cheerfulness.

Kazuki stared at her blankly. "...Not interested."

He turned and walked off toward the classroom.

Aira pouted. "H-Hey! That's rude!"

Once in class, as usual, students introduced themselves one by one.

From student A to student B, and then…

It was Kazuki's turn.

He stood up, hands in his pocket. "Kazuki Rei. I don't like noise—"

"KYAAAAA!!"

A roach scurried across the classroom floor.

Kazuki jumped and screamed like a girl, freezing mid-sentence.

That's when she struck.

Aira dashed forward like a hero in a discount anime.

"HIYAT! HUSS HUSS HAAHHH!"

She waved her notebook at the insect like she was casting a spell.

Kazuki blinked. "...You done?"

Inside her mind: He must be impressed. This is it. He'll fall for me now.

Aira smirked proudly. "You're welcome!"

Kazuki deadpanned. "I wasn't scared. Just surprised."

Aira pouted again, then grinned mischievously.

"Why're you smiling like that?" Kazuki muttered.

"You're giving me goosebumps…"
