Estelle didn't remember when her eyes had closed. She only recalled not opening the door when Dorian knocked, then darkness. The next thing she heard was her phone ringing somewhere beside her. The sound cut through her sleep like a sharp bell. She groaned quietly, stretching her hand out lazily, her fingers brushing the duvet and air until she found the phone vibrating at the edge of the bed.
The call stopped just as her hand touched it. She exhaled in relief and was about to drop her arm when it started ringing again.
She frowned, her brows pulling together as she pushed herself up slightly. Without checking the screen, she swiped to answer.
"Hello…" Her voice was groggy and still thick with sleep.
"Estelle, where are you!"
The sound of Blaise's cold and furious voice jolted her fully awake like a slap.
