Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Changes in the Heart

The next morning, Lee Yeong awoke from his sleep and had a waiter lead him to the kitchen. He then brewed a pot of chicken soup, placed it outside Jang Man Wol's door, and slowly walked towards school.

After he left, Jang Man Wol's door opened. She looked at the chicken soup placed to the side, was about to close the door again, but hesitated for a moment and then carried the chicken soup into her room.

...

"Lee Yeong, who exactly are you? You've been absent from school repeatedly, yet the school administration hasn't criticized you at all, not even the Headmaster has pursued it." As soon as Lee Yeong arrived at school, he ran into the lively Jo Myung-soo, who grabbed him and asked.

"If you can consistently rank first in the whole school, you can also... try..." Lee Yeong answered him perfunctorily. After all, he had indeed used a few tricks, and having taken over Seoul Tower, his status was no longer one of dependence. Imperial Group Chairman Kim Nam-yoon must have known about this, and he had also allowed Lee Yeong's behavior.

"By the way, are you and Choi Young-do having problems again? He's been looking for you lately... Be careful yourself," Jo Myung-soo saw Lee Yeong change the subject and wisely didn't ask further.

"Don't worry, he can't do anything to me." Lee Yeong naturally didn't care at all. The last time he left, he told Choi Young-do at the bar, "Do you want to know about your mother?" Then he told Choi Young-do that there was a message left for him at the restaurant where he parted ways with his mother. He probably hadn't found any clues yet.

"Lee Yeong," Choi Young-do arrived at the classroom, looked up, and saw Lee Yeong surrounded by classmates. "All of you, get out, I have something to discuss with Lee Yeong."

" Choi Young-do, what do you want to do?!"

"Is the school owned by your family?"

"You tell us to leave, and we just leave?"

...

Naturally, there were many people at school who were at odds with Choi Young-do, and they began to argue vociferously.

" Choi Young-do, there's no need for all this trouble. Wait until after school. I'll tell you what you want to know after school." Lee Yeong didn't want to be constantly hounded by him. Although he didn't have much affection for these rich second-generation heirs, he didn't provoke him either. Lee Yeong also didn't want to waste time on him.

What surprised everyone was that the arrogant Choi Young-do said nothing at all, sitting back down in his seat, only staring in Lee Yeong's direction...

There were so many gossipy people at school, and they all speculated whether Lee Yeong had something on him, that he was actually intimidated by a single sentence from a "social welfare recipient." But there's no such thing as an airtight wall in this world. Before school ended, rumors spread that Lee Yeong had become the owner of Seoul Tower, and everyone was naturally quite shocked.

Seoul Tower is the premier commercial building located in the heart of Seoul, with three top-tier conglomerates leasing offices there. Unlike other buildings, the ownership of Seoul Tower is private, not state-owned. The annual rent alone reaches tens of billions. Lee Yeong's status naturally rose significantly, no wonder the school turned a deaf ear to Lee Yeong's absences.

Choi Young-do also clearly found it difficult to accept this fact, but he was completely unconcerned with Lee Yeong's identity now. "Lee Yeong, tell me, since you said that, you must know where my mother is!"

" Choi Young-do, even if I tell you her location, what can you do? Don't you know why your mother left? Do you think if your father knew your mother's location, what would he do?" After arriving at the restaurant where her mother left with Choi Young-do, Lee Yeong instead questioned him back.

"I... you... I just want to know where she is, how she's doing, if she misses me as much as I miss her..." After a long silence, Choi Young-do looked at Lee Yeong with lifeless eyes, tears welling up, but he still spoke through gritted teeth.

He found the sticky note left for Choi Young-do on the restaurant wall, wrote his mother's location on it, and placed it in front of Choi Young-do.

"Before you figure out how to face what your father did, it's best not to let him know about your mother."

Perhaps because Lee Yeong lost his parents too early, he had particular respect and care for people like Cha Yu-ri and Choi Young-do's mother, just like when he sealed Jo Seo Woo's yin-yang eyes before. He didn't know if Cha Yu-ri would go to heaven early due to his changes, but he still hoped she could see her child grow up...

After parting ways with Choi Young-do, Lee Yeong walked aimlessly down the street. Today, he didn't plan to return to Del luna Hotel to rest, but rather to go home. Even though he was alone, he still intended to go back to sleep...

At this moment, he noticed a fried chicken restaurant. More precisely, he saw two people inside the fried chicken restaurant: Ji Eun-tak and Cha Eun-sang. He hadn't expected two people who were seemingly unrelated to meet. According to web novel plots, protagonists from different dramas shouldn't meet, right? Was it due to his influence?

Inside the fried chicken restaurant, perhaps because all the waitresses were beautiful, there weren't many customers, similar to the plot. Ji Eun-tak, ever since meeting Kim Sin, had become much more cheerful, especially after living with Kim Sin, she had a sweet expression of someone deeply in love. Cha Eun-sang was strong and independent, showing great enthusiasm in her work, but she was very envious when she saw others living leisurely lives. Sunny, who was Kim San, was all alone, only believing in love that existed in bank accounts, but her heart was stirred after meeting the Hell Reaper, Wang Li...

"Welcome, sir, what would you like to order?" Cha Eun-sang and Ji Eun-tak saw a customer arrive and quickly greeted him.

"I'll have one of each flavor to start, and then a take-out order," Lee Yeong confirmed it was really them, lamenting the author's boundless imagination.

"Oh, oh, it's you?!..."

"Sir, are you joking?"

"Sir, are you eating alone? Please have a seat, we'll prepare it for you right away."

The three people in the shop spoke at the same time, and then Ji Eun-tak and Sunny looked at Cha Eun-sang with strange expressions.

Seeing Eun Tak and Sunny's expressions as they looked at her, Cha Eun-sang's cheeks flushed, and she quickly explained, "This gentleman treated me to a meal at the barbecue restaurant where I used to work part-time."

"Oh...! Treated you to a meal!" Their tones became even stranger, repeatedly looking at Lee Yeong and Cha Eun-sang, trying to discern something from their faces.

"He came to the restaurant to eat barbecue, and I helped him grill..."

"Oh..."

Seeing that Cha Eun-sang was almost in tears from embarrassment, Lee Yeong burst out laughing. "Don't bully her. I eat a lot, so I just had her help me grill meat and treated her to a meal, that's all."

"Yes, yes, that's exactly it... So this gentleman can definitely eat it all," Cha Eun-sang quickly agreed when she saw Lee Yeong helping her relieve the awkwardness.

"Alright, then Eun-sang and Eun Tak, quickly go prepare the fried chicken for this customer, and get some drinks too." Seeing this, Sunny stopped teasing the two and turned to sit down at Lee Yeong's table.

"Sir, what do you do for work? How long have you known Eun-sang? Did you come here specifically to find her?"

Lee Yeong felt like he might have met a fake Sunny. Was she trying to set them up? Although Lee Yeong really liked Cha Eun-sang's appearance, facing Sunny's direct triple questions, he was incredulous.

"President, you've misunderstood. We really aren't the kind of relationship you're thinking of. I just happened to pass by on my way home," Lee Yeong realized they had misunderstood and quickly explained.

But then he realized that he seemed to be deceiving himself. Because he was worried about disrupting world order and destroying the plot, he had been avoiding his true inner thoughts. However, his arrival had already unknowingly changed this world. Since that was the case, why not follow his heart and live his true self?

Looking at Sunny again: "Perhaps, I really did fall for her... No, I do like her!"
