Seraphina's POV
The woman's words echoed in my head, each one cutting deeper than the last.
"Like I had for the past three days, isn't that right, Adrian baby?"
My stomach turned violently. The image of them together—her hands on him, his arms around her, doing things I didn't even want to imagine—flashed through my mind like a nightmare I couldn't escape.
Three days.
While I'd been at my brother's house, crying myself to sleep, agonizing over whether Adrian was safe, whether he and my brother would hurt each other, worrying about what I should do... he'd been here.
With her.
The betrayal burned through me like acid, mixing with a rage so fierce I could barely breathe.
How could he?
How dare he?
My hands trembled as I looked up at him through the blur of tears. "Adrian..." My voice cracked, barely holding together. "What is going on? What is this woman talking about?"
