Chapter 560 - 2

MY WHOLE CLASS ISEKAI'D TO A XIANXIA? GOOD THING I CAN DO MIND-READINGC46 Combination Array

Feng Fan didn't have much to prepare. Everything he needed was stored in his spatial ring. Without delay, he left the chamber and headed straight for the east gate.

When he arrived, a giant bluebird greeted his sight. Atop the majestic creature sat a man cross-legged, meditating with his back to Feng Fan.

'That must be Elder Peng,' he thought, sizing up the figure. He appeared to be a middle-aged man with short hair and a slender build.

Feng Fan approached cautiously and spoke. "Hello. Are you Elder Peng? Elder Jiang told us to travel with you to Cloudveil City."

The man opened his eyes, revealing a calm yet sharp gaze, then turned to face Feng Fan. "Yes, that's me. Come up. There's plenty of space on the bird," Elder Peng replied.

Following the elder's instructions, Feng Fan climbed onto the bluebird. As he settled in, an odd feeling tugged at his mind. 'Why does his face look so familiar?'

Then, like a bolt of lightning, it hit him. 'Oh… this must be Peng Hui's father! I really hope he doesn't hold a grudge for… taking his son's butt virginity.'

Feng Fan stifled a nervous laugh, suddenly feeling far less at ease on the bird's back.

Elder Peng, seemingly sensing Feng Fan's uneasiness, let out a brief laugh and thought, 'Haha, is this brat nervous because of his scuffle with my son? He underestimates me. That was nothing more than a sparring match between youngsters.'

Feng Fan overheard Elder Peng's thoughts and let out a relieved sigh. Curious about their destination and eager to fill the silence while waiting for Huang Xue and Xue Qiang, he decided to strike up a conversation.

"Elder Peng, what are you delivering to Cloudveil City?" he asked.

"Pills," Elder Peng replied. "The sect supplies pills to the Black Tower Chamber of Commerce every month in exchange for qi stones. Our two mines aren't sufficient to meet the sect's needs."

Feng Fan nodded thoughtfully. "Wouldn't it be more practical to send a disciple for that? Why would someone of your rank handle this personally?"

"I also need to purchase a batch of herbs for the next round of pill refinement," Elder Peng explained. "Since I'm the best alchemist in the White Crow Sect, it's better that I go myself. That way, we avoid the risk of a disciple being deceived."

"Oh, that makes sense," Feng Fan acknowledged. "I didn't realize the White Crow Sect had an Alchemist Heritage."

Elder Peng shook his head. "We don't. Compared to most mid-tier sects, we're far behind in terms of alchemists. Our numbers are few, and our skill levels are lacking. Why do you ask? Are you interested in learning alchemy? If so, you'll need a good fire or wood-based cultivation technique to support it."

Feng Fan shook his head firmly. "No way. I'm already training in the Array Dao, that's more than enough. If I start practicing another Dao, like the Alchemist Dao, it'll slow down my cultivation progress way too much."

Elder Peng nodded approvingly. "Wise choice. You shouldn't bite off more than you can chew."

After a moment of thought, Elder Peng's expression turned curious. "But how can you create arrays? Body cultivators shouldn't be able to manipulate qi in that way."

Feng Fan realized it was a question he couldn't avoid forever. Deciding to reveal a partial truth, he replied, "My cultivation technique is a bit special. It doesn't just strengthen my body, it also allows me to accumulate qi in my dantian, so I can use it when needed."

Elder Peng's eyes widened in amazement, his mouth slightly agape. "Incredible. Immortal methods truly are on a different level. I've never heard of anything like this before. Even now, I can sense your cultivation, but I can't determine whether you're a body cultivator or a qi cultivation"

Feng Fan smirked inwardly. 'Interesting. So others can't tell I'm practicing both cultivation paths… That could come in handy.'

"How far along are you on the Array Dao?" Elder Peng asked, his curiosity piqued. "Have you managed to create a simple array already?"

Judging by how recently Feng Fan had started his cultivation journey, Elder Peng doubted he'd achieved that milestone.

Feng Fan nodded, his enthusiasm bubbling to the surface as he began to speak excitedly. "Yes, I can already create some simple arrays. I've been experimenting with combination arrays recently. Before coming here, I was testing a theory... If it works, I might be able to create a fog array."

"Wait, what?!" Elder Peng exclaimed, his surprise evident. "Show me!"

'Impossible! This kid is already talking about combination arrays? Has it been a year since he started, and I just lost track of time?' Elder Peng thought, utterly baffled.

Hearing this, Feng Fan smirked inwardly, realizing his progress might be far ahead of expectations. 'Could it be I'm a natural genius at the Array Path?'

Deciding there was no need to hide his skills—perhaps even an opportunity to improve his standing in the sect—Feng Fan started demonstrating. He first crafted a small-scale water-generation array, forming it quickly and with precision. Then, he layered a heat array on top of it.

Once both arrays were activated, the air around them filled with vapor.

'Damn! This kid is a genius!' Elder Peng thought, his astonishment plain as he watched the results unfold.

"Good kid! Good kid!" Elder Peng said, laughing heartily. "Your progress is extraordinary. When we return to the sect, I'll introduce you to Elder Duan. He's the most skilled array master in the White Crow Sect, and I'm sure he'll be eager to teach a disciple like you."

Feng Fan took a moment to consider before cupping his hands respectfully. "Many thanks, Elder Peng."

'Having a mentor like Elder Duan could be invaluable,' Feng Fan thought. 'Learning directly from an expert would definitely speed up my progress compared to relying solely on books and self-experimentation.'

A few minutes later, Huang Xue and Xue Qiang arrived. Without wasting time, they climbed onto Elder Peng's bluebird, and the group set off toward Cloudveil City.

MY WHOLE CLASS ISEKAI'D TO A XIANXIA? GOOD THING I CAN DO MIND-READINGC47 A Broken Engagement

Huang Xue and Xue Qiang both seemed to be in a sour mood, remaining silent throughout the journey.

Feng Fan, sensing the tension, decided it was best to follow suit. He sat cross-legged on the bluebird's back and focused on cultivating for the entire trip.

He was almost breaking through to the 3rd stage of both the Qi Gathering and Body Forging realms and hoped to achieve it before entering the pocket dimension.

While the 3rd stage wasn't much compared to the peak 9th stage cultivators expected to be inside, any increase in strength could make a difference.

Despite the considerable distance, Elder Peng's bluebird was incredibly fast. In less than an hour, they arrived at Cloudveil City.

Feng Fan glanced at the city from the sky and couldn't help but marvel at it. It was the first city he had seen since arriving in the cultivation world.

Cloudveil City was a large city surrounded by misty, green mountains. Its buildings had an ancient Chinese style, with curved roofs covered in jade-green tiles and carved wooden beams. The streets, paved with smooth cobblestones, bustled with life.

Elder Peng had the bluebird land near the city gate.

"Little girl, go rest in the forest. I'll call you back when needed," he said to the bird.

The bluebird seemed to respond with a sound before flying off

They entered the city on foot and quickly arrived at a modest inn with a sign above the door that read "Siren's Rest."

Before entering, Elder Peng turned to them and handed each of them a gold coin.

"Most citizens of Cloudveil City are mortals, so they use copper, silver, and gold coins as currency instead of qi stones. I'm giving you one gold coin each. It's enough for a mortal family to live for more than six months, so don't waste it."

"Book a room each," Elder Peng instructed. "I'll go to the Black Tower Chamber of Commerce and return later. The pocket dimension will open soon, and I'll let you know when the time comes."

The three of them nodded in unison and entered the inn. They each arranged their rooms with the clerk. Since three meals a day were included, Feng Fan decided to book for seven days in advance.

'That saves me the trouble of looking for food,' he thought.

Feng Fan knew he couldn't afford to waste time, so he immersed himself in cultivation. Days passed, and by the third day, he successfully broke through to the 3rd Qi Gathering and Body Forging realms.

Not long after, a knock came at his door.

"Feng Fan, are you there?" It was Huang Xue's voice.

"I'm coming," he replied.

When he opened the door, he found Huang Xue standing there with damp hair, as if she had just taken a shower.

"Can you accompany me around the city? It's our first time leaving the sect, and I want to shop and see the city," she said, her tone casual.

'I want to go on a date with you… this might be my only chance for a while,' she thought.

Feng Fan heard her thoughts and couldn't help but smile. 'She's too cute.'

"Sure, let's go. I just broke through to the 3rd stage, and I'm not expecting another breakthrough before entering the pocket dimension, so I can take a break from cultivating for now."

Huang Xue nodded enthusiastically. "Ah, speaking of cultivation, I've broken through to the 5th stage. Thanks for the cultivation manual. It's amazing!"

Feng Fan waved his hand dismissively. "No need to thank me. We're friends, aren't we?"

With that, Huang Xue and Feng Fan left the inn and wandered through the vibrant streets of Cloudveil City. The lively atmosphere was infectious, with countless stalls and shops offering everything from freshly cooked delicacies to exquisite silk garments.

Huang Xue explored the stalls with genuine excitement, dragging Feng Fan along to sample various foods, some of which were entirely new to him—they didn't exist on Earth.

Feng Fan watched her excitement and couldn't help but smile. 'Even Huang Xue, usually so cold and distant, looks genuinely happy just shopping like an ordinary girl.'

As they passed a jeweler's stall, Feng Fan's eyes caught a black silk choker adorned with a small pendant featuring a black gemstone.

"Wait here, Huang Xue," he said, stepping toward the stall.

"How much for this choker, sir?" Feng Fan asked the merchant.

The jeweler smiled knowingly. "Ah, a fine choice for your lady. How about half a gold coin?"

Feng Fan nodded without hesitation. He'd only spent a silver so far, and since the gold wouldn't be of much use once they left Cloudveil City, he saw no reason to hold back. After paying, he returned to Huang Xue, the choker in hand.

"I got you something," he said, holding out the choker. "Try it on."

Huang Xue's eyes lit up as she took the choker. "It's beautiful. Thank you, Feng Fan."

She carefully fastened it around her neck, then turned to him with a rare smile. "How does it look?"

Feng Fan's smile widened. "It's stunning. And when you smile like that, Huang Xue, you look like a goddess."

Huang Xue's cheeks flushed, and her smile grew bashful. "I'll try to smile more for you," she muttered softly, barely audible.

"Wen Xue! You vixen! How dare you break off the engagement arranged by our families and humiliate me like this?" A man shouted a few meters from Feng Fan and Huang Xue, drawing attention from the crowd. His voice trembling with anger.

"In times of adversity, true feelings are revealed. I've treated you so well all this time, and you always responded warmly. But now, after my cultivation has been crippled, you decide to end things?"

Feng Fan, confused, turned his head toward the commotion. A short-haired man stood there, yelling at a beautiful long-haired woman, whose icy expression betrayed no emotion.

Beside her was a long-haired man wearing a smug grin, his gaze filled with disdain for the shouting man. "Tan Wei, you might have been a genius once, but now you're nothing more than trash. You're no longer worthy of Wen Xue!"

Feng Fan blinked in disbelief, struggling to process the scene unfolding before him. 'A broken engagement after losing cultivation? A smug villain spouting clichés? What kind of overused drama trope is this?'

"Huang Chao, do you have no shame?" Tan Wei snapped, his voice filled with contempt.

"Since we've known each other, you've been chasing after Wen Xue like a dog after a bone, even though she was already engaged! You can only drool over something that doesn't belong to you, and even then, she rejected you!"

Huang Chao, the long-haired man, felt his face flush with anger. "Y-You! Do you think you're still the genius you used to be? I could kill you right now, and no one would bat an eye!"

Huang Chao stepped forward, releasing his cultivation aura at the 9th Qi Gathering Realm. But before he could act, Wen Xue raised her hand, stopping him. Her icy demeanor remained unshaken as she addressed Tan Wei.

"Tan Wei, I'm a disciple of the Blue Wyvern Sect with an 8th Qi Gathering cultivation, a Dao Seeking realm cultivator from the Blue Dragon Sect already accepted me as her disciple. My destiny is to soar to the skies, while you're fated to remain a mortal. I'm sorry, but I can't accept this marriage."

Her voice was calm and detached, as though breaking the engagement was nothing more than a trivial matter, and the man before her held no significance in her life.

Tan Wei's face twisted in fury. His voice rose, echoing through the streets as he shouted,

"Thirty years east, thirty years west, don't you dare bully me because I'm poor now!"

Feng Fan, who had been watching silently, nearly choked on his own saliva. 'The hell?! Why does that line sound so familiar?'

"Hmph. Goodbye," Wen Xue said coldly, turning on her heel to leave.

Huang Chao, his anger momentarily forgotten, hurried after her like a loyal hound. "Wait, Wen Xue!"

As the commotion settled, the crowd began to disperse, but Feng Fan lingered, his gaze fixed on the man named Tan Wei, who had apparently lost his cultivation.

'I was once a Foundation Establishment cultivator, but because of this stupid pendant, I lost everything…' Tan Wei thought, his eyes dark as he stared at the pendant hanging from his neck.

'No matter. I, Tan Wei, reached the 1st Foundation Establishment realm just two years ago. I'll do it even faster this time, go to the Blue Wyvern Sect, and punch that vixen Wen Xue right in the face!'

Feng Fan, eavesdropping on Tan Wei's thoughts, raised an eyebrow in surprise. 'Oh, this guy has a protagonist aura. Interesting.'

Before he could contemplate further, something even more unexpected happened.

"Brother Wei!" A voice called out, and a figure dashed toward Tan Wei, who had been clenching his fists tightly in frustration.

At the sound of the voice, Tan Wei's expression softened into a smile, and his fists relaxed.

"Ah, Brother Tao," Tan Wei greeted warmly. "You're back from the White Crow Sect already? How did your assessment go?"

Feng Fan was taken aback once more when he recognized the figure approaching Tan Wei—it was Bai Tao, the gay young master.

'What's he doing here? Shouldn't he be cultivating inside the sect?' Feng Fan wondered.

"Brother Wei, I heard about your broken engagement. That Wen Xue is truly a vixen. She doesn't deserve you," Bai Tao said, his tone filled with sympathy.

But his thoughts betrayed him, loud and clear to Feng Fan: 'Only I deserve you, Brother Wei…'

Feng Fan almost choked on his own disbelief. 'Damn, this young master wants to eat the protagonist!'

Tan Wei smiled with determination. "Thanks, Brother Tao. You don't have to worry about me. I once reached the Foundation Establishment realm, and I'll do it again!"

Bai Tao felt relieved seeing Tan Wei's confident demeanor and was glad his friend wasn't crumbling under pressure.

"That's the spirit! That's the Brother Wei I know. Today, let's drink and celebrate your future rise. I'll cover everything!" Bai Tao said enthusiastically.

Tan Wei nodded, and the two began walking off together at a leisurely pace.

Feng Fan turned to Huang Xue. "Huang Xue, can you head back without me? There's something important I need to take care of."

Huang Xue tilted her head slightly, curious about what Feng Fan was up to, but decided not to press him.

"Okay. Thanks for today, Feng Fan," she replied with a smile.

Before leaving, she stood on her tiptoes and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Bye-bye," she said with a grin before walking away.

Feng Fan froze momentarily, caught off guard by her bold gesture, but quickly shook it off. 'No time for distractions.' He hurried after Bai Tao and Tan Wei.

What Feng Fan failed to notice was Huang Xue's cheeks turning red as she walked away, her heart racing.

Bai Tao and Tan Wei entered a lively bar filled with energy. The atmosphere buzzed with the sound of cheerful singing, clinking cups, and enthusiastic cheers echoing through the room.

Feng Fan followed them into the bar and spotted them sitting at a wooden table near a small window. He took a deep breath, put on his most welcoming smile, and approached.

"Hello, Junior Brother Bai. I didn't expect to see you here," he greeted warmly.

Bai Tao turned toward the familiar voice, his expression immediately shifting to a puzzled frown.

'Why is this guy acting like we're close?' he thought.

"What do you want, Feng Fan?" Bai Tao asked, his tone sharp.

Feng Fan maintained his smile and waved a hand dismissively. "Come on, Junior Brother Bai, no need to act like that. I know the tough guy act from earlier was just a show. Let's not fight, alright? We're from the same sect, we should aim for a harmonious relationship."

Bai Tao's eyes narrowed slightly, and his thoughts raced. 'How does he know I was just putting on a show?'

After a brief pause, he gave a curt nod, deciding there was no point in denying it.

"Good. From now on, let's try to get along," Feng Fan said, pulling out an empty chair and sitting beside him.

Turning to face Tan Wei, Feng Fan added with an empathetic tone, "I saw what happened earlier, Brother Tan Wei. That Wen Xue really is a vixen. If I were you, I'd give her a good spanking for what she did!"

Tan Wei blinked in surprise at Feng Fan's audacity, while Bai Tao gave him a wary side-eye, unsure of what game he was playing.
