Chapter 336 - Dominicus of the Collective Will

Under Sunday's arrangement, Robin could only stay in her room. She couldn't go anywhere, not even into the dreamscape.

An invisible restraint prevented her from walking through the door, a power of absolute rules that most certainly did not belong to the Path of Harmony.

Recalling Sunday's words, Robin quickly guessed the truth.

"The power of the Path of Order... Brother, what are you planning?"

She worried for him. She had never imagined that her brother, who seemed no different than before, was the true mastermind behind this crisis.

They hadn't seen each other in so many years, and in that time, he had changed so drastically—from a devout believer of Harmony to this "rebel" of Order.

Although Robin herself had now come to question the Path of Harmony, she had never thought Sunday would go to such a radical extreme.

"No wonder he was so dissatisfied with the Path of Harmony before, and... his dissatisfaction was the complete opposite of mine."

Thinking back on what Sunday had said, it all clicked into place for Robin.

The doubts she raised were that Harmony itself still stripped away freedom and forced others into The Family. But Sunday's dissatisfaction was clearly that Harmony gave people too much freedom, so much that ordinary people couldn't bear it and instead fell into suffering.

Their perspectives were diametrically opposed.

Robin didn't want the Harmony to act against Su Mo, feeling the Aeon was interfering too much.

Sunday wanted Order to envelop more people, feeling the Aeon was interfering too little.

Only at the very end did they realize they had misunderstood each other. But by then, the words had been spoken and couldn't be taken back.

Sunday, naturally, could not allow Robin to inform the outside world, and so he had turned her into a caged bird.

"What my brother wants to change is Penacony, a world enveloped by Harmony..."

More than the conflict between the Paths of Order and Harmony, she was concerned for the safety of her own flesh and blood.

During the days of her confinement, she tried asking the servants who brought her meals for help, only to discover, to her shock, that the entire Oak Family had decided to follow Sunday's will.

In other words, this crisis was being orchestrated by the entire Oak Family under Sunday's leadership.

"But with Brother's power, even with the whole of the Oak Family, the most he could do is stage a rebellion. To endanger all of Penacony, to reach a level that even Lord Su Mo must pay attention to... what he has now is not enough."

During her house arrest, Robin tried her best to think through her brother's possible course of action. With Sunday's current strength, he would have a hard time succeeding even without Su Mo in the picture.

But he had been planning this for who knows how many years. Given his personality, he would not act recklessly. He must be certain of victory.

So, what was Sunday's trump card?

There was only one answer: the power of Order that had not been completely assimilated by the Aeon of Harmony.

The problem was that Ena, the Aeon of Order, had already been devoured by the Harmony. Even if remnants of Their power remained, they wouldn't be overwhelmingly strong.

On what grounds did Sunday believe he could contend with the high-ranking members of The Family and the other powers of the universe?

"Whether for ruling or for protecting, one needs at least Emanator-level power to have a seat at the table," Robin quickly deduced.

"Right now, my brother doesn't have Emanator-level power... The reason he's waiting until now to rebel, the reason he continues to bide his time, must be because he's waiting for—"

Soon, her sharp mind landed on the one thing that had been Sunday's highest priority these past few days.

"The Harmony Festival! That's it! By tradition, the Aeon's avatar will descend at that time!"

As a "God of a Thousand Faces," Xipe the Harmony did not appoint Emanators. However, They still had beings under Their command nearly equivalent to Emanators, divine avatars known as the Chorus.

In the concept of the Path of Harmony, every individual was an avatar of Xipe; all were manifestations of the Aeon.

However, only the Chorus were considered true divine avatars, as they possessed power on par with Emanators.

If there was any power that could fulfill Sunday's ambitions, the impending descent of a divine avatar was a perfect fit.

And as it happened, one member of the Chorus, Dominicus of the Collective Will, could answer the collective wishes of the masses. With the unified desire of the Oak Family, they were sure to attract this avatar's descent.

As for how to make an avatar of the Aeon of Harmony obey Sunday's command... though it was somewhat disrespectful, Robin had heard a rumor that the Harmony's Chorus was, in fact, absorbed from the Celestial Choir of Ena the Order.

If Dominicus was also a remnant of the Aeon of Order's power, perhaps Sunday truly did have a way to harness that great, Emanator-level power.

Realizing this, Robin felt a sense of urgency... but she did not panic.

It had to be said, Sunday treated her very well. Even while holding her captive under house arrest, he still came whenever she called.

"What is it? Have you finally come to understand my way of thinking, and wish to change this universe with me?" he asked upon arriving, a sliver of hope in his voice.

"Your ideas are too extreme, Brother. But that's not what I'm here to talk about." Robin shook her head. "I want to say, don't tell me you're planning to use the power of Dominicus to change all of Penacony?"

Without mincing words, she stated her conjecture directly.

"And what if I am?" Sunday had already anticipated that Robin would not support him, so he wasn't too disappointed now.

He was, however, a little proud of his sister's intelligence. He hadn't expected her to see this far. She was his sister, after all.

But before a look of gratification could appear on his face, Robin's next words were like a bucket of cold water.

"Stop, Brother! You can't win!" Robin looked at her brother with utmost seriousness, offering her heartfelt advice. "It's not too late to stop now."

"Can't win? I don't understand." Hearing this, Sunday's gaze turned cold and hard. After countless calculations, his plan had no flaws. How could he possibly not win?

"You do not understand the wishes of the masses, which is why you misunderstand... Robin, you are too arrogant. When you truly listen to the hearts of these people, you will know what they truly crave!" Recalling the endless confessions he had heard over so many years, Sunday's eyes became unbreakably firm.

"On the surface, Penacony is a world of opulence and debauchery, but in truth, everyone's heart craves Order. Only Order can bring them a sense of security, can grant them a blissful respite in their rootless lives."

"I am relying not only on the Oak Family but also on the desires of these people... As long as everyone shares the same weakness in their hearts, as long as people hold the same wish, the descent of Dominicus is inevitable!"

"And empowered by this collective will, the power of the divine avatar will surely be invincible!"

Clearly, Sunday had not failed to consider the possibility of internal rebellion or external invasion, but he was certain his plan had no such vulnerabilities.

The nature of Dominicus of the Collective Will was such that the more people who shared the same wish, and the more steadfast they were, the stronger it became.

At that time, Dominicus would grow stronger with the support of the people under his influence.

Anyone who tried to break the "Dream of Unity (Ena)," so long as they could not overcome the dream itself, would be absorbed into it, ultimately becoming another brick in the foundation of Dominicus's power.

Under this model, Dominicus's power had almost no upper limit. Even an Emanator of Preservation or the Hunt would find it difficult to break the cocoon he would build.

With such a nearly invincible setup, who could possibly defeat him?
