Chapter 272 - Twin Goddesses, You Wouldn't Want to See the Little Garden...

At the advent of the Twin Goddesses, Queen Halloween immediately stood by Su Mo's side, making her stance clear.

Su Mo, holding both Another Cosmology: Virtual Star Tai Sui and Three Thousand Worlds, remained unhurried and composed.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of the Twin Goddesses' visit?"

Upon hearing his question, the two goddesses, who looked like a pair of black and white twins, exchanged a glance.

Alpha, the Goddess of Origin, spoke first.

"Lord Su Mo, please do not be so on guard. We have not descended to fight you."

Omega, the Goddess of Terminus, spoke next.

"The civil war between you and the pantheons is an internal affair. As long as it does not involve a malevolent existence like a Last Embryo, we have no intention of interfering."

To cosmic truths like them, no matter how grand or shocking the current turmoil appeared, it was merely a repeat of the chaotic era at the dawn of the Little Garden.

As long as the existence of the Little Garden itself was not threatened, transcendent beings like them couldn't care less.

The reason they had acted against Shiroyasha back then wasn't because of her willful antics, but because of her status as a Last Embryo.

Now, although Su Mo was causing a stir no smaller than Shiroyasha's, his record was clean. He was even the final savior of the Indian pantheon, one of the hopes for overcoming the Eschatology.

Logically and emotionally, the Twin Goddesses had no reason to act against Su Mo.

"Then why have you come?"

Hearing the Twin Goddesses' declaration, Queen Halloween breathed a sigh of relief. But her cautious nature left her with a lingering question.

If they weren't going to fight Su Mo, why descend so suddenly?

"The wars between pantheons have nothing to do with us," Alpha stated once more.

"However, that is on the premise that the balance of the Little Garden itself is not affected," Omega added, glancing at the battlefield strewn with bodies.

When Su Mo had used his Sword of Victory formula earlier, he had only incapacitated the angelic legion, not killed them. But in the aftermath, during the clash of the three Full-Authority Domains, Christianity's angelic legion still suffered heavy losses and was all but annihilated.

If it were just that, it wouldn't have been a major issue; a rescue might have been possible.

But the fall of the Son of God forced them to descend in person.

"In this era, the influence of Christianity and Buddhism is unprecedented. If you insist on destroying these two pantheons, Lord Su Mo, it will have unforeseeable consequences for human history!" Alpha explained, voicing her concerns.

If this were the dawn of the Little Garden, the destruction of a pantheon wouldn't matter much; another could always take its place. But now, only a few pantheons were active on a large scale in human history.

Once Christianity was completely annihilated, the entire human history of the Western bloc would suffer an unprecedented shock.

Christianity's so-called two billion followers existed across the infinite multiverse. While they couldn't compare to Su Mo in terms of power, their influence on human history was indispensable.

"Now, with God gone and the Son of God fallen, Christianity has already suffered a catastrophic blow. It is nearly impossible for it to return to its former glory. Human history is almost certain to take a huge hit," Omega said, offering her prediction.

"If the World-Honored One were to fall at this time, even if he were resummoned, the Buddhist sect would be dealt a massive blow... Under this double impact, the entirety of human history as we know it would be at great risk. It could even trigger a historical transition period comparable to the era of the Black Death."

One had to remember that the Little Garden's Buddhist sect also included Hinduism. Under the philosophy of Brahma-Indra unity, the number of their followers might even exceed two billion.

The followers of these two top-tier pantheons combined already accounted for more than half of all humanity.

Su Mo had declared war on both major pantheons at once and defeated them both. The impact on human history was immeasurable.

"What's done is done, and we have no intention of blaming either side. But if you do not wish to destroy the current human history, Lord Su Mo, we hope you will sheathe your sword. At the very least, the World-Honored One must not come to harm."

Having explained, they revealed their purpose.

To protect the current human history, the shockwaves from the pantheon's civil war could not be too great. The Son of God had already fallen, so nothing more could be said, but the World-Honored One had to be spared.

"So, you're here to plead for the World-Honored One?" Su Mo asked, raising an eyebrow.

"We are here for the sake of human history and the safety of the Little Garden," the Twin Goddesses said in unison, shaking their heads. "Sparing the World-Honored One is simply the course of action that best serves the interests of the Little Garden."

After speaking, the goddesses looked at Su Mo with a hint of expectation. They knew the rules of battle: the victor takes all, including the loser's life. But with Su Mo's savior Divinity, they hoped he wouldn't completely disregard the bigger picture.

Of course, it was a request, but if Su Mo were to flatly refuse and declare his intent to destroy human history, they wouldn't rule out taking action. After all, they couldn't just let the Little Garden fall into chaos.

"I understand," Su Mo nodded, confirming the Twin Goddesses' position.

"Then, will you agree to our request, Lord Su Mo?" Alpha asked, her eyes lighting up.

"No."

Su Mo calmly shook his head. His words shocked both the World-Honored One and Queen Halloween.

"Then, you refuse?"

Just as she steeled herself for battle...

"No to that, either."

Su Mo shook his head again.

"?"

The Twin Goddesses were completely baffled. They exchanged a look of utter confusion.

"Lord Su Mo, what are your intentions?" they asked in unison.

Fight or truce, can't you just give us a straight answer?

"If I understand correctly, you two are asking me to sacrifice some of my rights as the victor and spare the World-Honored One for the sake of human history and the Little Garden's stability?" Su Mo asked.

"That is correct," the Twin Goddesses nodded in unison after a moment of thought.

"Sparing the World-Honored One... I can agree to that request," said Su Mo, who had never intended to kill him in the first place. "But, I have one condition."

"What condition?" the Twin Goddesses immediately took the bait.

Although Su Mo hadn't directly agreed to their request, it was far better than an outright refusal. Given the power he had displayed, the Twin Goddesses were not at all certain of victory.

"That depends on how much you two are willing to pay for the safety of the Little Garden and the stability of human history!"

Su Mo turned the tables, seizing the initiative.

"Twin Goddesses, you wouldn't want to see human history run into problems because of you, would you?"

"This..."

The goddesses exchanged a look, not expecting things to turn out this way.

The sealed World-Honored One, hearing this, desperately wanted to tell them not to be fooled—Su Mo had never planned to kill him anyway.

Unfortunately, he was the fish on the chopping block. With the power Su Mo had demonstrated, even if this was a blatant shakedown, they had to play along. What if Su Mo really did decide to kill him?

"If it is within a reasonable scope, and something we are capable of, we can discuss your request, Lord Su Mo."

After exchanging a look and a brief, silent conversation, the Twin Goddesses nodded in agreement.

Unlike the pantheons, which were skilled in the ways of the world, these two cosmic truths were clearly much more straightforward. They had no intention of haggling; as long as the request wasn't excessive, they were willing to sacrifice their own interests to protect the Little Garden.

Hearing this, Su Mo immediately turned and pointed to a certain white-haired loli at the edge of the battlefield.

"Give her to me, and I will release the World-Honored One."

"Huh?"

The sneaky white-haired loli's eyes widened in surprise. She pointed a finger at herself.

The reward Su Mo wanted... was her?

Her little face flushed slightly, and Shiroyasha was overcome with a wave of immense joy!

He wants me! He has me in his heart!

"Shiroyasha?"

Hearing this request, the Twin Goddesses exchanged a look and then shook their heads decisively.

"Impossible!"

"Apologies, but we cannot accept that!"

Although both the World-Honored One and the White Night Demon Lord were two-digits, and on the surface, the exchange seemed fair, in reality, it was a huge problem.

"The cosmology that Shiroyasha represents stands at the pinnacle of all cosmologies. As a Celestial Star Spirit of the sun, her importance surpasses that of all pantheons combined."

"Even the World-Honored One and the Son of God together are not as important to human history as Shiroyasha alone. We can never allow Shiroyasha's Divinity to fall into the hands of another."

As if worried Su Mo didn't understand Shiroyasha's importance, the two goddesses immediately began to explain.

Pantheons could be rebuilt if destroyed, but there was only one Shiroyasha. The difference in their status was like the difference between an Another Cosmology and the Sun's Sovereignty.

No matter how powerful or reality-bending an Another Cosmology was, for the Little Garden, the only truly indispensable Gift was the Sun's Sovereignty.

Losing the World-Honored One would, at worst, deal a heavy blow to human history.

Losing Shiroyasha could mean the end of human history entirely.

For the sake of the Little Garden, the Twin Goddesses could never agree to such a dangerous exchange.
