Chapter 27 - The City That Bleeds Light

"When the spiral opens, even gods forget their names."

—Inscription on the Spiral Monolith, Shibuya District

October 19th – Shibuya Station, 6:01 PM

Shibuya's streets? Total chaos. Neon everywhere, noise bouncing off every damn surface. You could practically taste the static in the air. Monitors glitched and fizzed, and right under the crosswalk, cursed energy oozed out, thick and nasty, like open wounds you don't wanna look at.

Then all hell broke loose.

Something slammed down over Shibuya Station—a veil, dark as a blackout and about as forgiving. Phones? Toast. Lights popped, glass raining down. People screamed and bolted, but nobody got far. They were stuck. Everyone was stuck.

The Culling had kicked off.

Jujutsu High – Operations Hall

Shoko's voice cut through the garbled mess, sharp and no-nonsense:

"Multiple cursed signatures—Level 1 and up. Special Grade too. Gojo's will be trapped if he goes in. Veil's locked down tight."

Yaga's face looked like he'd bitten into a lemon.

"We knew this was coming, just… not tonight."

Yuji popped his knuckles, ready to throw down. Megumi unrolled some scroll, all business. Nobara stared right at Akashi, eyes burning.

"This is it," she whispered, barely moving her lips. "War's here."

Akashi just stood there, silent. That spiral glyph inked on his back? Yeah, it started bleeding, right through his shirt. Creepy as hell.

Deployment Teams

Team 1: Gojo (because of course he's solo)

Team 2: Yuji, Megumi, Nobara

Team 3: Akashi, Panda, Maki

Mei Mei glanced at Akashi, not even blinking:

"Your job? Find the Spiral Node under the station before it blows. It's the anchor, and it's waking up."

Akashi raised an eyebrow. "And if something else gets up first?"

She shrugged. "Hope it's in a good mood. Or that it remembers its name."

Shibuya Veil – Entry Point

Teams split up, diving into the darkness. The city? It sounded like it was crying, honestly. Screaming, maybe. All those billboards, those lights, the signs—like memories and curses got mixed up and spat back out.

Akashi stopped under this giant digital billboard. The ad glitched. Switched for a split second. And there it was—his own face, younger, blood everywhere, mouth open in a scream.

Then it flickered back.

"It remembers me," he muttered, chills crawling up his spine.

Panda shot a look over his shoulder, deadpan as always.

"Then make it wish it didn't, man."

Underground Spiral Node – Unstable Core

Deep under the city, the Spiral Node throbbed, every inch covered in those glowing runes. The curse inside? Still cooking, not quite ready to come out and play… but something moved. Eyes, lots of them, opened in the dark.

A voice, echoing through the gloom:

"Akashi Ryuunosuke…"

"The Glyph Heir's back…"

Yeah. Tonight's gonna suck.
