Chapter 26 - Spiral Revenant

"Cursed spirits don't fear strength. They fear memory."

—Satoru Gojo

Tokyo – Abandoned Rail District, Midnight

Man, the air was thick enough to chew. Everything stank of old iron, mildew, and something way nastier—blood, maybe, or just ghosts that never left. Down in the guts of the city, right where the tracks rotted, something slithered out. A cursed spirit—looked almost like a centipede made out of smoke and pure spite.

Right there on its body: a busted spiral, cracked straight down the middle. Same one that burned itself into Akashi's brain the night his mom got taken.

"Target confirmed," a Kyoto scout whispered, voice all static over the radio. "Same energy signature as Sector 7—ten years ago."

"That's it," Gojo said, smooth as ever. "Akashi's ghost."

Jujutsu High – Briefing Hall

Yuji's fists were clenched so tight you could hear his knuckles. "So that's what ruined his life?"

Megumi barely blinked. "He doesn't want backup."

"Duh, he's an idiot," Nobara snapped, rolling her eyes. "Stubborn as hell."

Yaga strolled in with Mei Mei and Panda trailing. "He's already left. Slipped out at dawn."

Abandoned Rail District – Entry Point

Akashi stood at the mouth of the tunnel, spiral glyphs snaking across his skin—glowing like old scars that never healed.

The Dragon Tongue flickered to life, slow and steady. He let out a shaky breath, gathering himself.

"Ten years fuckinnn long long ten years...And you thought I'd forget your stink?"

The Revenant oozed out of the shadows, face flickering through masks before slamming on one: his mother's.

"You wear her face like it's nothing huhh" Akashi spat, stepping forward. "Let me take it back."

Fight: Akashi vs. Spiral Revenant

Silence snapped. The fight tore through it.

"Cursed Technique: Dragon Tongue – Lacerate Flare!"

Fire—real, spiraling fire—erupted from his palm, ripping through the Revenant's belly. The thing just knitted itself back together, bleeding curses everywhere.

It shrieked, voices layered and ugly:

"YOU.ARE.THE.LAST.ECHO.RETURN.TO.THE.CORE."

Akashi's new glyphs went off, burning hot-red

"Cursed Reversal Technique: Spiral Rune – Fracture Chain!"

Runes whipped up the Revenant's limbs, chaining it to its own history. Every kill, every scream—shoved right back into its face.

Now it started to shake. Hard.

"I don't just remember your face," Akashi said, voice low. "I remember how it smelled. I remember the fear. I remember everything."

"And this time, I'm done running."

And then here it come's the Domain Expansion;)

Reality kind of… cracked. Akashi shaped the hand signs, slow and deliberate.

"Domain Expansion: Abyssal Severance—Palace of Endless Sin."

The world twisted in on itself. Suddenly, they stood in a black palace, mirrors everywhere—each one showing a death, a stolen moment, a sin.

The Revenant flailed, but here? Every punch Akashi threw landed. Over and over.

"For her," he growled, and brought his fist down for the last time.

The mask shattered. And behind it? Nothing. Just an empty, aching void.

Poof. Gone. Just. Like. That...

Aftermath – Dawnlight on the Tracks

Akashi knelt where the Revenant had vanished, glyphs dying out on his arms.

He didn't cry. He Couldn't. But his voice cracked anyway:

"Now rest in peace, mom."

Footsteps—Nobara, arms folded, voice soft for once.

"You absolute dumbass. You could've died."

He looked up, managed a weak grin. "Yeah, but I didn't."

She crouched next to him, hand firm on his shoulder.

"You coming home?"

He nodded. Once.
