The Chapter get Retranslated
"Or... Orga?"
The Iron Flower flashed twice on the screen.
"Heh, finally snapped out of it? Of course it's me. Honestly, you idiot... I finally managed to come back to life, and you almost smashed me stupid."
Orga's voice was thick with complaint.
Mikazuki blinked, his expression completely stunned. He clearly hadn't processed the news that Orga was still alive. When he finally came to, the excitement within him flooded onto his face.
"Is it really you, Orga? Are you really alive? But... why are you inside there?"
"I don't know. When my consciousness woke up, I was already here. I seems I've become Barbatos's auxiliary system. But even though I'm the system, I can't actually operate Barbatos. This guy really only moves for you."
Orga was just as confused. Logically, he should be dead, yet now he existed as something like the machine's internal system. As a system, he couldn't actually do much. To put it simply, Orga had become an artificial intelligence he had self-awareness, could think, and could make judgments, but he possessed no other abilities beyond his personality and thoughts.
Or perhaps he did, and just hadn't discovered them yet.
"I don't know how I ended up like this, so let's put that aside for now. More importantly... Mika, you've noticed, haven't you? This... isn't Mars."
After his initial surge of joy, Mikazuki calmed down. He was certain the person on the screen was Orga. As for why he had become an AI, Mikazuki didn't care; for him, the fact that Orga was alive was enough.
"Yeah. It's Earth, right?"
"Right, it's Earth. But... it's not the Earth we know."
Mikazuki tilted his head, looking puzzled. "Huh?"
Orga seemed to get a headache from Mikazuki's lack of comprehension, his tone laced with helplessness.
"Ah, I guess that's a bit hard for you to grasp. To put it simply, it seems we've transmigrated. This isn't our world... Still don't get it? Let's put it this way: this world has no Gjallarhorn, no Arbrau, no Chryse on Mars, and even the Calamity War from three hundred years ago never happened. Does that make sense?"
Mikazuki understood perfectly now. Transmigration... they were in a new world. He remembered seeing something similar on TV dramas parallel worlds and the like. Even knowing this, Mikazuki remained as calm as ever.
"So, what do we do next?"
"...You really aren't panicked at all, are you? Normally, shouldn't you be freaking out?"
"I don't like thinking. Besides, I have you."
Orga let out a couple of helpless chuckles. "Heh, you brat. I thought you might have changed after I died. You haven't changed a bit."
Mikazuki smiled. "Neither have you. You died once and you're still exactly the same. We... can only keep moving forward, can't we? To reach that place. We made a promise. We're going together."
"...Honestly. I feel like I've said those words myself once."
The Iron Flower on the screen flashed rapidly as Orga's voice echoed softly in the cockpit.
"But you're right. We made a promise... to find our place together. Besides, Tekkadan can't function without us. We have to go back and keep an eye on those brats."
"Yeah."
Mikazuki smiled at the screen, Orga's familiar face almost appearing before his eyes.
Orga immediately made the decision. "Good. Since we've decided, our first task is to figure out what this world is all about. To be honest, I'm still in the dark about myself, so I need to figure out what's going on with my current state. I get the feeling I have quite a few functions now. Mika, give me a moment. I'm going to figure out my situation."
"Okay."
The panel went silent. Mikazuki instinctively reached into his pocket for a Mars Date, only to find it empty. Not a single date left.
"All gone...?"
He sighed and tapped the screen. The Tekkadan symbol didn't react. He had no idea where Orga had "gone" within Barbatos the legs, the hands, or...
Mikazuki didn't dwell on it. He opened the cockpit and the seat rose, taking him outside. The desolation and the field of wreckage once again filled his vision.
Facing such a scene, Mikazuki felt no emotional turbulence. He had been through many battles, some far more gruesome than this. If Mikazuki felt anything, it was only when his comrades died before his eyes that was more intense than any post-war ruin. Everyone in Tekkadan was his family, and no one could remain indifferent when family met with disaster.
His most vivid memories were receiving the news of Orga's death, Shino's unwilling roar before he fell, and seeing Hush and the others sacrifice themselves on that final battlefield...
Mikazuki's fists clenched. He looked up at the sky, his deep blue eyes murmuring, "Kudelia... you... you can protect them in my place, right?"
Whoosh! Whoosh!!
"What?!"
Whoosh, whoosh...
Mikazuki snapped his head back, his brow furrowed. The sound was faint, but it was hauntingly familiar to him. It was the sound of thrusters on a Mobile Worker. As for the numbers, they were too far away for him to be sure.
He quickly retracted the seat and himself back into the cockpit, calling for Orga.
"Orga! Orga, are you ready?"
This time, Orga responded instantly. "Almost. There's still a lot I don't understand about myself... Mika, I've detected units approaching from fifteen kilometers away. Quite a few of them."
"I heard them. What should we do? Fight?"
The Iron Flower symbol on the screen pulsed as Orga spoke. "No, let's hide first and observe."
"But there's no cover around here."
Mikazuki surveyed the surroundings; there was nowhere to hide. However, Orga's confident laughter filled the cockpit.
"Don't worry. Now that I've become Barbatos's auxiliary system, I've discovered a lot of interesting functions in this machine. Like stealth..."
"Stealth?
