Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: One... Two...

The Chapter get Retranslated

Another pilot chimed in, asking as he operated his machine and watched the fleeing vehicles on his monitor, "By the way, Captain, why does Chairman Zala want Lacus Clyne dead? He even sent us, the Red Coat elites from the Earth base."

The captain's face turned cold inside his unit. "Shut up. That isn't for us to know. We are soldiers; we only need to execute our superiors' orders."

"Deepest apologies!"

"Captain, the vehicle ahead is slowing down. They must be out of fuel."

"Excellent."

The captain's eyes lit up. With a cold sneer, he issued a decisive command. "All units, close in on the target vehicle. Use any weapon you like. Send them on their way!"

"Understood!"

Inside the P.L.A.N.T. vehicle, Lacus, who had secretly come to Earth for a trip, did not look well. Her graceful eyebrows were knit tight. Somehow, the news of her arrival on Earth had been leaked, and the opposition had even dispatched ZAFT GINNs to assassinate her.

"Just who...?"

The driver saw the fuel gauge flashing. His face darkened as he turned back, his voice heavy. "Miss Lacus, it's bad. We're out of fuel."

Lacus Clyne and the other two occupants looked grim. Lacus hugged her pink Haro and let out a bitter laugh. "It seems there's no escape. I'm sorry for dragging you into this."

"Haro! Haro!"

The woman wearing an eyepatch beside Lacus spoke hurriedly. "Miss, please don't say that. Our lives were given to us by you. Your safety is far more important than our own lives. I only hate our incompetence and their shamelessness."

The man in the passenger seat wearing glasses nodded in agreement. "That's right, Miss. Don't worry, we will give our lives to protect you. You will definitely be safe."

Lacus felt a warmth in her heart. Facing the imminent danger, she found herself feeling strangely relaxed. She smiled beautifully. "Thank you."

Whoosh.

The sound of Mobile Suit thrusters grew closer, and the car slowed to a final stop in the open wasteland.

Seeing the vehicle stop, the four GINNs instantly increased their thrust. They all drew the beam sabers from their waists. One of the GINNs pulled out its beam rifle and aimed at the vehicle. The electromagnetic interference had vanished, and the crosshairs locked onto the car. The pilot wore a bloodthirsty grin.

"Die..."

The glow of energy condensing at the muzzle of the beam rifle expanded in Lacus's eyes until a green beam finally erupted.

It's over...

Just as that thought crossed Lacus's mind, a black shadow dropped from the sky, slamming heavily into the ground and kicking up a massive cloud of dust.

The laser beam pierced into the dust, but it seemed to hit something. It exploded outward, blowing the dust cloud apart.

Lacus and the others looked up. Before them stood a strangely shaped weapon—four sharp corners like blades, appearing as part hammer and part spear. Most importantly, this weapon was massive, more than half the size of a Mobile Suit.

"What is that thing?"

A bad feeling rose in the captain of the GINNs. He immediately ordered, "Eliminate the target immediately!"

But just as the four GINNs were about to bypass the Hammer Mace and use their giant beam sabers to finish off the three people in the car, one of the GINN pilots noticed a red dot suddenly appear on his empty radar.

"Not good! Captain, a Mobile Suit is approaching rapidly... no, it's right next to us!"

"What?"

Before the GINNs could react, Lacus heard a deafening roar from behind. A shadow that blotted out the sun swept overhead, plunging into the formation of the four GINNs with an engine roar that sounded like a howl.

Lacus opened the roof of the car. The gale blew her hair back, and she ignored the stinging pain of the wind on her face, her light grey eyes fixed on the shadow that had just streaked past.

No, it was a mecha.

"That's..."

What appeared before her eyes was a machine with a form completely different from a GINN a perfect color scheme of blue, red, and white, with a sleek, lean frame that resembled a savage, untamed wolf.

"That look... could it be the Earth Alliance's newest Gundam model?"

The one-eyed woman cried out in shock, "Captain, that's...!"

"All units, intercept!"

The captain's order wasn't even finished when the machine grabbed the Hammer Mace embedded in the ground. Its thrusters cut out, its right foot stomped down, and it swung the mace.

BOOM!

One of the sharp blades of the Hammer Mace buried itself deep into the waist of the captain's GINN.

"One..."

A counting voice drifted out from the unknown machine, heard clearly by Lacus and the GINN pilots.

The mecha then raised a foot and kicked the GINN off the mace. When the captain's machine hit the ground, it exploded in a fireball.

While the remaining three GINNs and Lacus's group were still in shock, the unknown Mobile Suit moved again. Brilliant blue thruster flames erupted as it closed the distance to another GINN in a flash, thrusting the Hammer Mace forward.

The GINN pilots weren't complete fools. Although the captain's sudden death had terrified them, they were Red Coat elites and quickly regained their composure, with the vice-captain taking command.

Just as the Hammer Mace was about to hit, the GINN dodged to the side, causing the mace to miss. The GINN retreated quickly, the pilot wiping cold sweat from his brow.

That was close. I almost died. What is with this machine? Where did it come from?

Just as he breathed a sigh of relief, a cold voice whispered in his ear.

"Naive..."

Just as he pulled back, the Mobile Suit burst forward with incredible speed, chasing him down.

The Hammer Mace in its hand swept horizontally, but because the distance was too great, it didn't hit. The pilot sneered, "Hmph, how could such a clunky weapon ever hit me?"

The words had barely left his mouth when a sight that nearly made his eyes pop out appeared. The sharp spear at the top of the Hammer Mace, which was still over ten meters away, suddenly extended.

"How is that poss"

Thump!

The extended spike of the pile bunker met no resistance, easily piercing through the GINN's cockpit armor. There was no need to ask what happened to the pilot inside; the spilling red told the story.

The spike retracted. The unknown Mobile Suit held the massive Hammer Mace, its head tilting slightly as its light green eyes glowed. A voice like a whisper from the God of Death drifted out.

"Two..."
