Chapter 184 - Chapter 184: 98% Compatibility—Now I'm Starting to Believe It

Such behavior might seem childish, but wasn't it precisely the kind of thing you'd do when you were completely relaxed?

Brandon wasn't that old. Even counting both lifetimes together, he couldn't be called particularly ancient—but age couldn't really be calculated that way. Living in society versus living in school produced entirely different mindsets.

Even the most mature person would unconsciously relax after spending enough time in a school environment, occasionally doing things that might seem a bit immature in their own eyes.

Boys will be boys until the day they die?

Besides, these were things Brandon had fantasized about doing in his previous life. After all, what Pokémon fan hadn't dreamed of living in the Pokémon world, with those companions by their side?

As for Blazeheart—an angel's lifespan meant their perception of time was entirely different from a human's. Five hundred years old was genuinely considered young among angels. In other words, Blazeheart's current behavior was perfectly appropriate for her age.

This was how she was supposed to be. This was her true personality.

The maturity she displayed in the anime was born of necessity. Under those circumstances, every Angel Warrior had no choice but to grow up. When Queen Kaisa fell, she, as the Holy Right Wing, had to step forward.

"Getting ready to leave?"

Brandon set down the book in his hands and looked at Blazeheart, speaking softly.

"Mm. Yan didn't give me a transit sigil for today."

"She probably has something she needs me for."

Blazeheart's small face fell. After spending so much time here, she really didn't want to go back.

Everything about her god was so interesting—not just the Pokémon, but also that mysterious technological robot Doraemon. It had so many gadgets she couldn't even begin to understand, and some of them could even simulate the evolution of cosmic civilizations.

Though it was limited to what happened inside the gadget and couldn't transcend the device's own constraints, it was still astonishing.

"You're the Holy Right Wing, after all. The future Heavenly Foundation King."

"If Angel Yan saw that expression on your face, she'd probably scold you."

Brandon couldn't help but smile at Blazeheart's dejected little face.

"Yan would never."

Blazeheart pouted.

"She really wouldn't. After all, she was just complaining in the group chat about how she never wanted to be the Angel King in the first place. Wouldn't it be nice to just relax under Queen Kaisa's protection and find herself a god?"

"She also said there's too much to think about now. She feels like she's aging."

"I suspect she was hinting at Holy Kaisa, but I have no proof."

Brandon chuckled, recalling Angel Yan's complaints in the chat group. For someone who revered Holy Kaisa as her faith to say something like that—it wasn't hard to imagine what she was going through.

Training under both Holy Kaisa and Heavenly Foundation King Hexi... tsk.

Though it would help her grow faster, it somehow didn't seem particularly friendly.

"Yan said Queen Kaisa is old? I'm going to tell her when I get back."

Blazeheart's eyes widened as she spoke.

"And then get lectured by her?"

"Angel Yan is the Crown Princess now. Once she becomes Queen, watch out—she might give you a hard time."

"I'm not scared. If she gives me trouble, I'll go to my master. What's that Earth saying... um, Grand Elder?"

"Right. Even the Queen has to listen to the Grand Elder."

Blazeheart thought about it, then said.

But after she finished, both she and Brandon burst out laughing at the same time.

"I'm going now."

"Come back soon."

After Brandon finished speaking, he opened his book again and continued reading.

Blazeheart looked at him and pursed her lips, then secretly made a face at him. After she did, she couldn't help but laugh, and finally waved goodbye before her figure vanished from the spot.

Only then did Brandon set down his book. He gazed at where Blazeheart had disappeared for a long moment, then shook his head.

"98% compatibility... Now I'm starting to believe it."

Merlot Heaven.

Angel Blazeheart looked at the familiar room before her, confusion crossing her face.

"Where's Yan?"

"She's training."

A female voice rang out, and joy lit up Blazeheart's expression.

"Leng!"

Outside the room, Angel Leng leaned against the wall. Hearing Blazeheart's words, she gave a cold snort.

"Blame Angel Yan. That girl used her training with the Heavenly Foundation King as an excuse to make me come get you instead."

As she spoke, the ponytail behind Angel Leng's head swayed unconsciously. Though her beautiful, valiant face showed displeasure, her gaze toward Blazeheart was gentle.

"Get me?"

"For what?"

Blazeheart wore a bewildered expression, not quite understanding what Leng meant.

"Obviously, it's about that god of yours. 98% compatibility—tsk tsk. Has any known civilization ever recorded compatibility that high?"

"And your tone just now—why did it sound like you didn't want to come back?"

"Could it be that spending time with your god was so much fun you've forgotten about your family?"

Angel Leng raised an eyebrow, teasing.

"That's not it!"

"And even though he's my god, it's not like we're—"

"I'm just there to study his civilization."

Blazeheart's face flushed crimson, her voice growing weak.

"Your face is that red and you're still trying to deny it."

"Alright, alright. When has the Sacred Treasury ever been wrong? What, you think he could possibly resist an angel's charm?"

"Be bold. Just go ahead and claim him."

Seeing the blush spreading across Blazeheart's cheeks, a smile tugged at the corner of Leng's lips as she continued to tease.

This was standard procedure for the older generation of angels, after all.

Though she herself had no experience in this area. Angel Yan, on the other hand, had learned well—despite having no experience either, she could go on and on about it. Still, teasing Blazeheart was more fun.

After a couple of jabs, however, Leng's expression turned curious.

"Yan hasn't revealed too much, but there's still quite a bit of information on the Angel Network."

"That great platform connecting the myriad heavens and worlds—is it real? And the other worlds too?"

"And that god from another world—Queen Kaisa believes his potential guarantees he'll become a god in the future. Is that also true?"

"All of it is true."

Blazeheart's expression grew serious as she replied.

"It's not just Yan and my god. There are many others from different worlds."

"Though their civilizations are still some distance from angel civilization, every one of them possesses tremendous potential."

"Some of them—I truly believe that if they had been born in our world, they could have become the supreme deities of smaller civilizations."

"They're incredibly talented, and they all have the willpower needed to become powerful."

"With that great platform to rely on, it might not be long before they surpass us."

"Surpass us?"

Angel Leng pointed at herself, and Blazeheart nodded in confirmation.

"In terms of individual combat power, even though you've already advanced to a third-generation divine body, you'll be surpassed very quickly."

"Fine then."

Having fought for over seven thousand years, Angel Leng wasn't incapable of accepting such things.
