"I'm pregnant," Teni announced, loud enough for Dami's mother and Adaora to hear.
Dami dropped his wineglass. "You're WHAT?"
Teni smiled sweetly. "Yes, darling. I wanted to surprise you."
Dami stared at her like she'd grown another head. "Since when?"
"Since now."
Adaora blinked. "You're... carrying his child?"
Teni gently rubbed her very flat stomach. "Yes. And it's kicking already."
Mrs. Okonkwo fainted.
