Two days later, Teni found herself in Dami's mansion in Ikoyi.
Yes. Mansion. Not house. Not duplex. Not "four-bedroom with BQ." A full-on, high-ceilinged, chandelier-having, staff-holding mansion.
"Your house has a butler," she muttered.
"Yes. Don't steal him," Dami said without looking up from his tablet.
She was given a designer wardrobe, a "wife suite" next to his room, and instructions on how to behave.
"Remember," Dami said, adjusting her blouse before their big dinner with the Okonkwos, "You're madly in love with me. Head over heels. Can't resist me."
Teni gave him a sugary smile.
"Oh darling, if I act more in love, I might vomit."
He rolled his eyes. "Just smile. And don't insult me."
