OUTSIDE HOSPITAL – CONTINUOUS
People (down below):
What the—!?
(A complete chaos breaks out. Screams. Phones pulled out. Someone calls the police.)
The man looks down at the crowd, then at the phone on the desk.
The telephone wire is cut. The call was never made.
He smirks.
---
He walks quickly to the washroom, enters a stall, and changes his appearance — puts on a wig, a different jacket, and changes his shoes.
He waits calmly for the hallway to clear.
Then he walks out of the hospital, moving past police officers sealing off the scene. Confident. Calm.
---
Man (to himself, quietly):
This place is meant to heal...
but it let her die.
So why not you?
As the killer steps into a taxi and disappears into the city, police sirens approach the hospital entrance.
A sleek black car stops at the scene. From it steps Detective Max — tall, about 6 feet, wearing a dark coat.
Half-Indian, half-American, Max is one of the most respected officers in his branch — known for solving the cases others couldn't.
He walks toward the crowd, ignoring the noise and the flashing cameras. His eyes land directly on the body tied to the chair, lying broken on the pavement.
The first thing he notices is the tape — unusual, deliberate. He frowns, then slowly looks up at the hospital window.
Just then, Detective Roy arrives behind him — slightly younger, messy hair, jacket half-zipped. He walks quickly, a little breathless.
---
Roy:
Sheesh... this is definitely a murder. The killer didn't even try to hide it.
(rubs the back of his head)
Sir, maybe we should check the CCTV footage first?
---
Max (without looking at him):
You're the last person to report to this scene.
And you still think you're qualified to suggest something?
(Max keeps staring up at the window, focused.)
---
Roy (sighs):
Whoever did this... was cruel as hell.
---
Max (turning away):
We need access to the doctor's cabin.
(He walks to a nurse nearby.)
Max:
Take us there. Now.
---
INT. DOCTOR'S CABIN – MOMENTS LATER
The nurse opens the door. Max and Roy enter.
The room is a mess — a chair has fallen, papers scattered, drawers left open.
Max's sharp eyes immediately catch the CCTV wire, hanging — cut cleanly. Then he sees the telephone wire, also severed.
Max (coldly):
The killer planned everything.
The CCTV and the phone — both disabled in advance.
(He inhales slowly. His face is unreadable.)
---
Roy (nodding):
He attacked during lunch too. Fewer people around.
Less chance of witnesses. Perfect timing.
(Max says nothing. He just stares at the empty chair — then slowly walks to the window and looks down again.)
(Max is still inspecting the room.)
Max (coldly):
Whoever did this… wasn't scared of a trial.
Roy:
Why?
Max:
Instead of hiding the body, he threw it in front of everyone.
Maybe… he wanted us to be here.
Roy (shrugs):
Well, our salary doesn't match our work.
What would he want from us?
Max:
Let's check the CCTV.
(Just then, Max's eyes catch something — a colorful piece of paper on the otherwise dull table. In a room full of black and white, it stands out. He picks it up and opens it slowly.)
Written in blood:
"Who will be next?"
Roy (peeking over):
What is it?
(He sees it and gets chills.)
Max:
It's the doctor's blood…
Still wet.
Roy (quietly):
Maybe that's what he wants from us…
Max (serious):
A Tom and Jerry game.
(He walks out of the room. They head toward the CCTV control room.)
---
INT. CCTV ROOM – MINUTES LATER
(Max plays the footage. The angle covers the cabin's door area, but the door itself is a blind spot.)
Roy:
Everything looks normal...
(Then suddenly — on the footage — the doctor freaks out and stumbles back. The feed cuts.)
Roy:
Why did he suddenly freak out?
Max:
Note the exact time.
Then check the camera outside the cabin.
Roy (jotting it in his notebook):
Got it.
(They switch to the hallway cam at the exact time. They watch it closely.)
Roy (confused):
Wait... the last patient never came out.
Max:
Go to reception. Ask who the last patient was.
I want everything about him.
Roy:
On it, sir.
(Roy rushes toward reception. Max rewinds the footage again and follows the man through hallway cameras.)
