Chapter 5 - In the Arms of Heroes

Astra recalled all the novels he had read before he died and mentally reviewed all the possible scenarios. In the end, he concluded that it was very likely those two people were his grandparents.

After all, this seemed to be a world with magic, so preserving youth shouldn't be such a rare thing... right?

He was a little surprised, because if that was true, these people who had just entered the room looked quite young. The man looked to be in his 40s, and the woman, on the other hand, looked no more than about 35.

The woman with the fiery red hair maintained an upright posture and projected an aura of heroism with a hint of wildness, like a fierce warrior in the midst of battle.

She was dressed in some kind of lightweight battle dress with special armor sections. It was obvious she had a strong character; just looking at his grandfather's nervous expression told him better than to anger her. On the other hand, the man, his grandfather Henry, was a rather attractive and mature man. His short, dark blue hair and blue eyes were quite striking, like his father's, and his body was quite muscular.

At first glance, one could imagine him wielding a colossal weapon: a hammer, an axe, or a greatsword. He also wore some kind of body-hugging suit with armor pieces on his shoulders and arms, just like the woman.

It was clear that the couple were warriors and had probably just returned from the battlefield not long ago, since if one looked closely, one could notice traces of sweat on their bodies.

Seeing all these people who were quite handsome and part of his family, Astra felt that his genes were quite good in this life; he should at least be more handsome than before he was reborn.

He also noticed that the red-haired woman, whom he believed to be his grandmother, was most likely the one who made the decisions in the household. He felt he should keep that in mind for the future.

Interrupting his thoughts, a voice with a hint of coldness sounded again.

"Small arguments?"

Astra's grandmother asked, frowning slightly.

"Forget it, it's my grandson's birth, I'll let it go for today."

As she said these words, a touch of affection was evident in her voice, which was also reflected in her eyes.

Henry and William breathed a sigh of relief, as if they had just escaped from the mouth of a tiger.

"I owe you one, son," William thought.

"Let's see, Stella. Please show us our grandson." The red-haired woman spoke again.

"Yes, Mom. Please come closer."

Hearing this, Astra's grandmother walked to the side of Stella's bed. Henry, seeing this, also decided to quickly approach her grandson.

"But look how cute he is, he inherited all my beauty... Ouch."

"Wife, why are you hitting me now?"

Henry said, clutching his head and looking at his wife with aggrieved eyes.

"Old man, it seems you haven't lost your habit of bragging."

"But you're right, my grandson is so cute. He's worthy of being my Kassandra Lionheart's grandson."

As he spoke with a proud posture, his eyes held a tenderness that would baffle anyone. Who would have imagined that the feared Lioness of Lysandria could display such an expression? Wasn't she the same ruthless warrior who laid waste to armies on the battlefield? Her name was even used to scare disobedient children.

"Especially those eyes. Although I've seen many magical eyes throughout my life, I've never seen anything like them in my entire life. I think they might have some special power," Kassandra said after noticing Astra's eyes turning like a starry sky.

"Um… Mom."

"What do you want, William? Why are you interrupting my time with my grandson?"

Kassandra turned to look at William with cold eyes.

"II just wanted to ask about…"

As if hesitant to say so, she didn't continue.

"Are you wondering about his talent? Wouldn't you love him if he doesn't have any?"

"No, no. How could you think so, Mother? Even if he has no talent, he'll still be my son."

On the other hand, Stella's expression grew a little worried.

"I understand your concerns. I'll check it out now."

Kassandra proceeded to use her skills to detect Astra's talent.

Astra, for his part, felt a little uncomfortable; he felt like he was being observed from top to bottom, from the inside out.

That gaze makes me feel completely exposed... although maybe that's because I'm actually naked. Besides, this feeling is also very strange; I've lost count of the strange things I've experienced in this short period of time.

He assumed they were currently checking his health or talent. Although he couldn't quite understand, he was getting more and more comfortable with the new language. He could associate some phrases with the context and the faces of those in the room, something only possible thanks to his new skills.

If it's to check my talent, I'm also curious. Will it be good or bad?

Kassandra stopped her inspection with a slightly surprised look. Then she said, "Well, I really feel like I can't detect anything. Apparently, he doesn't have much talent."

"But we still need to do the special tests to be sure."

Although her expression seemed a little sad, she didn't seem disappointed at all. After all, it was her grandson.

Seeing her expression, Astra thought that maybe he didn't have much talent. He felt a little disappointed. But he didn't dwell on the situation.

Then Kassandra sighed, and an uncontrollable smile spread across her face.

Everyone in the room, seeing the smile that was forming, felt chills run down their bodies. When Kassandra put on that smile, everyone knew something bad was going to happen.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

Kassandra's loud laugh made the room shake slightly.

"So what if he doesn't have talent? In our family, we always have to work hard, regardless of talent. My grandson, like everyone else, must go through family training."

"Even if he has no talent, I'll turn him into a brilliant diamond," Kassandra added, her smile widening.

Those present sighed. This training she was referring to was hellish, but it was something every member of the family had to go through, even the maids and butlers, so everyone knew how terrifying it was.

Stella frowned in concern, but in the end, she just sighed in resignation.

Astra, for his part, felt more at ease about the situation after seeing his grandmother's reaction.
