Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

ARIA'S POV~

I let out a deep sigh as I swung my legs over the side of the bed, my eyes scanning the all-white room with gold accents that Vera had insisted on designing. It was a new day, and the memory of my boss's peculiar attitude from three days ago still lingered. I groaned in frustration, already dreading the morning routine that had become all too familiar over the past five years.

'I had to be at his house to wake him urgh'.

As I made my way to the bathroom, I couldn't help but think about how immune I'd become to my boss's intimidating presence. The simple, black-and-gray theme of the bathroom was a welcome respite from the opulence of the rest of the room. After a quick shower, I wrapped myself in a robe and checked the time – 5:30 AM. I had to get moving.

I chose a gray, long-sleeved, off-the-shoulder dress, paired it with black heeled boots and a knee-length jacket, and headed to the makeup cabinet. I grabbed my trusted products-huda beauty. I kept my makeup simple, leaving my short blonde hair straight and pinning the left side behind my ear. With my gray Gucci bag packed, I rushed downstairs, grabbed an apple and some milk, and headed out the door of my penthouse.

The drive to my boss's mansion was uneventful, but the scenery changed as I pulled up to the grand estate.

The gates swung open after an automated scan confirmed my identity. I nodded at the guards as I drove through the long driveway. The mansion's beauty still took my breath away – the huge trees, the fountain, and the expensive gravel road all contributed to its fairytale-like atmosphere. I appreciated that my boss kept the mansion free from the drama of his personal life.

It's truly a sight to behold and when it comes to taste I don't think there's anyone beating Adonis Castillo.

I let myself in with my card and made my way to the elevator, which took me to my boss's floor.

As I entered his room, I was greeted by the sight of him fast asleep. I placed my bag on the couch and headed to the bathroom to prepare his bath a routine that has to be done first because I know how the man is.

When I went to tap him awake, my hand recoiled as I felt his hot skin. His forehead confirms my suspicion – he has a fever.

Without hesitation, I climbed onto the bed and tried to rouse him. "Sir," I called out softly, but he just groans and turns away. I gently turn him back towards me and remove the duvet. After fetching a bowl of water and a towel, I sit him up and begin to place the towel on his burning skin. His eyes flicker open, and he drawls out my name, "Aria." And before I can respond, he drifts off again.

I tuck him in and rush to the kitchen to fetch his medication from the first aid box in the carbinet and a glass of water. When I return, he refuses to take the medicine, his face scrunched up in distaste. "I don't want it," he complains, almost knocking the cup away. I growled in frustration.

Why would a grown man act so childish, I put the pills close to his lips only for him to turn his face sideways, lips puckered.

"Adonis," and he looks at me with surprised.

I know it's from me using his name.

When he still refuses, I placed the pill and water in my mouth, face scrunching up at the taste and leaned in, pressing my lips to his.

'An only option'

I push the medicine into his mouth, holding our position until he swallos. As I pulled away, I sigh in relief. "Better," I said, before calling the doctor.
