The children unconsciously gathered next to the only available ship.
BOOM!
Another tremor occurred.
A child was knocked to the ground. He lay prone, slowly raising his head, and suddenly saw a massive, earthy-yellow tail flash past the hangar entrance's atmospheric shield.
For a moment, he thought he had seen wrong and froze in place.
But his thoughts were immediately interrupted by a black shuttle. The ship, seemingly hit and trailing flames, suddenly rushed into the hangar bay.
Because it entered from below at an awkward angle, it shot up uncontrollably and crashed into the ceiling.
Then, like a ball, it bounced off and was pulled by the ship's internal gravity plating, crashing heavily to the deck.
Fortunately, the children were on the other side and were not affected.
The black shuttle's ramp opened abruptly. A Pau'an in black armor walked out, looking slightly disheveled but imposing. He had sharp teeth, pale skin, amber eyes, and scarlet pupils that made anyone he looked at shudder.
Following closely behind was the Fifth Brother, with his distinctive pot-lid helmet. This usually arrogant and untamed Inquisitor appeared almost docile in front of the Pau'an, though the arrogance in his eyes could not be completely hidden.
As the two stepped off the ship, the first thing they saw was the group of children huddled next to the Traveler.
"Gideon, why are the test subjects in the hangar?" the Pau'an said into his wrist comlink.
A surprised voice came from the communicator: "Watch them! I'm on my way! The others don't matter. The only important test subject is heading there. You must stop him!"
The Pau'an's face soured. He cut the connection immediately. This person dares to order me.
The only ones who could speak to him like that were the terrifying, armor-clad Sith Lord and the incredibly mysterious Emperor himself.
"Reinforcements will be here soon. This bug won't last much longer, but neither will this cruiser. We need a ship to get out of here, Lord Grand Inquisitor," the Fifth Brother said.
The Pau'an, known as the Grand Inquisitor, swept the area with a cold gaze. His eyes finally focused on the only functional ship in the bay: Amir's Traveler.
The Grand Inquisitor didn't care about this experiment. He had come this time because of an order from the Emperor, an order that was impossible to resist.
But if this warship was destroyed by Gideon's own foolishness, it had nothing to do with him. He had already come, and he had almost died in space trying to help them.
So, the Fifth Brother was right. The important thing now wasn't to stand here guarding these children and waiting to die, but to find a functional ship, get out, and put on a show of attacking the beast from the outside.
At this moment, he set his sights on the Traveler.
Led by the Grand Inquisitor, the two walked toward the freighter with an intense, oppressive aura. The children around the ship panicked. They didn't know who these two strangers were, but they could feel the cold Force emanating from them, filling them with uncontrollable fear.
. . .
Amir had already found the droids' weaknesses. Their joints and the round processors on their heads were extremely vulnerable. He just needed to deflect blaster bolts to these locations to disable or destroy them.
He deflected another bolt onto the knee joints of two combat droids, forcing the tall machines to collapse. From five or six meters away, Amir threw his lightsaber. Guided by the Force, the spinning blade precisely cut through their heads, completely scrapping them, before returning to his hand in a smooth arc.
Just now, he had heard the sound of something heavy crashing up ahead. He didn't know what it was. A falling fighter? Damaged ship structure?
But the hangar was just ahead. If nothing had gone wrong, the children would be waiting there.
Mona followed behind, carrying two blasters. She suddenly pulled one off her back and threw it on the ground. The thing was too heavy for her. She had thought having an extra would be safer, but her stamina quickly gave out.
Holding a blaster rifle that was a third of her own height, Mona awkwardly tried to keep up.
"Almost there, Mona. Hang on." Amir was also getting tired. They had encountered at least twenty combat droids along the way.
After passing through the last corridor, Amir saw the open blast door and the spacious hall ahead. He knew he had reached the hangar. Mona's steps also quickened.
As he got closer, Amir suddenly saw a black shuttle crashed in a corner of the hangar. He wouldn't have cared, but he saw a marking on the hull.
Inquisitors!!!
The symbol was the shape of their base, the Fortress Inquisitorius!
Amir gradually slowed his steps. He began to regulate his breathing. The continuous fighting along the way had drained him.
"Mona, take Milisen. When you get a chance, run for the ship!" Amir lowered Milisen from his shoulder and handed her to Mona.
Amir could already feel the dark side energy emanating from ahead.
Although Mona didn't know why, she didn't ask. She just tucked the blaster under her left arm and supported the unconscious Milisen with her right.
Gripping his lightsaber tightly, Amir walked step by step toward the hangar.
The moment he walked through the blast door, Amir saw two figures in black armor. In front of them was his all-too-familiar Traveler, and a group of panicked children.
Regardless, seeing that the children had all made it, Amir finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had been afraid they'd be intercepted on the way.
As if sensing something, the two Inquisitors who had been walking toward the Traveler turned around.
Amir looked at the two. One was the Fifth Brother, whom he had met and fought before. The other was a Pau'an. Amir sensed a dark power from him that was even stronger than the Fifth Brother's, giving him a distinct sense of danger.
The Grand Inquisitor!
He never expected the Grand Inquisitor himself to be here.
Tulio had revealed to him that someone was coming to deal with Boris. Amir had guessed it might be an Inquisitor, but he hadn't expected the leader of the Inquisitorius to come personally.
He had fought both the Fifth Brother and the Seventh Sister, so Amir had some understanding of their capabilities. After this recent period of training, he was fairly confident he could escape from them. But he knew nothing about the Grand Inquisitor's fighting style.
This Pau'an had once been a Jedi Temple Guard, wielding a lightsaber pike, protecting the Temple and its precious artifacts and records.
Unlike other Jedi, a Temple Guard's primary duty was combat, and their training reflected that focus on martial prowess.
Their combat skill was stronger than the vast majority of Jedi Knights. Not to mention, now that he had fallen to the dark side, his strength must have swelled to a certain extent under the influence of his hatred.
