Chapter 13: Monaco Mayhem and a Systemic Save
The Monaco Grand Prix. Tony Stark, in a desperate, self-destructive fit of palladium-fueled recklessness, decided to race. In a suit of armor. Adam, who had used a casual wish to secure some surprisingly good (and suspiciously cheap) VIP tickets, found himself in the stands, a bucket of overpriced popcorn in his lap, watching the chaos unfold.
"Oh, Tony. You dramatic idiot. This is going to be a disaster. A glorious, expensive disaster. And I'm here for it."

The race was a blur of speed and noise, until suddenly, a figure in a crude, glowing suit of armor, wielding two energy whips, appeared on the track. Ivan Vanko. Whiplash.
"Well, that's rude," Adam muttered, watching Vanko slice through a race car. "Interrupting a perfectly good Grand Prix. Some people just have no respect for the spectacle."
Vanko, a picture of cold fury, advanced on Tony. Tony, in his Mark V suitcase suit, was struggling. This was it. The big fight.
"Alright, System, time to get creative. Let's make this a show. And keep the casualties to a minimum. Mostly."
A crucial part of Vanko's whip, mid-strike, seemed to snag on something. Adam blinked. It was a bystander's ridiculously oversized foam finger, shaped like a giant banana, which had somehow flown into the path of the whip. Vanko roared in frustration as his weapon short-circuited for a crucial second.
[WISH GRANTED: WHIPLASH'S POWER CELL EXPERIENCES MINOR FLUCTUATION, CAUSING A BRIEF WHIP SHORT-CIRCUIT. COST: 90 WISH DAYS.]
"What in the…?! My whip! It's… it's tangled in foam fruit?!" Vanko shrieked, his voice distorted by the suit.
Adam snickered, earning a bewildered glance from the person next to him. "Oh, that's going straight into the highlight reel."
Suddenly, a rogue race car, its engine screaming, veered wildly towards Adam's section of the stands. He braced himself. "Oh, for crying out loud. Not again."
[DANGER DETECTED FOR HOST! INITIATING RANDOMIZED LIFE-SAVING PROTOCOL.]
[HOST SAVED! CURRENT STATUS: SAFELY ENTANGLED IN A GIANT FOAM FINGER, SLIGHTLY EMBARRASSED BUT UNHARMED. COST: 35 WISH DAYS.]
He found himself tripping, not over his own feet, but over a conveniently placed, giant foam finger (this one shaped like a number one), landing face-first into a concession stand. He emerged, covered in popcorn and a faint smell of stale soda, just as the race car harmlessly spun out a few feet away.
"You know, System," he mumbled, spitting out a kernel, "your 'funny saves' are really starting to get personal. I'm going to need a new wardrobe after this."
Meanwhile, Pepper and Happy were frantically trying to get the Mark V suit to Tony. Happy, driving like a madman, was struggling through the chaotic traffic of overturned cars.
"Come on, Happy. You're better than this. Just a little… boost."
[WISH GRANTED: HAPPY HOGAN'S DRIVING SKILLS TEMPORARILY ELEVATED TO GRAND PRIX LEVEL FOR 10 SECONDS. COST: 40 WISH DAYS.]
Happy's battered car suddenly weaved through the wreckage with impossible precision, a blur of speed and unexpected agility. He slammed to a halt next to Tony, who quickly donned the suit.
The battle raged, Tony now in his element, Whiplash growing more frustrated by the inexplicable glitches in his suit and the bizarre obstacles appearing around him. Adam watched, a satisfied smirk on his face. He was a master of subtle chaos.
