Chapter 12: Speedsters and Spooked Cops
Central City. Always a good time, especially when Eobard Thawne decides to make a surprise appearance from the past. "Seriously, does this guy have a frequent flyer program for time travel? Because he's racking up the miles," Adam thought, teleporting into a quiet alleyway near S.T.A.R. Labs.

"Experiment, you say? Don't mind if I do, System. Don't mind if I do," Adam mused, a wicked gleam in his eye. He knew Thawne's return was a big deal, a tense, emotionally charged event for Barry. But that didn't mean he couldn't lighten the mood. Or, you know, make some cops dance.
He found himself near a police roadblock, set up to catch some minor criminal. Two officers, looking bored and slightly chilly, were directing traffic.
"Perfect targets," Adam thought. He focused, picturing them breaking into a spontaneous, synchronized dance routine. Something cheesy. Something… iconic.

Suddenly, to the utter bewilderment of a passing motorist, the two officers dropped their stop signs and launched into a surprisingly coordinated rendition of the "Macarena." They swayed, they clapped, they spun, all with deadpan expressions.
Barry Allen, zipping by on his way to a crime scene, skidded to a halt. He stared at the dancing officers, then at Joe West, who had just pulled up in his car.
"Uh, Joe?" Barry stammered. "Are… are they doing the 'Macarena'?"
Joe squinted. "Looks like it, Barr. Must be a new police training exercise. Or maybe they finally snapped. This city does that to a person."
Adam, hidden nearby, stifled a giggle. "Masterpiece. Absolute masterpiece. My art knows no bounds."
Later, in S.T.A.R. Labs, the tension was palpable. Thawne was back, albeit a past version, and the team was grappling with the implications. Cisco, ever the pop-culture enthusiast, was unusually quiet.
Adam decided to fix that. He teleported into the cortex, materializing right next to Cisco, who yelped and spilled his coffee.
"Whoa, easy there, Vibe," Adam said, patting him on the back. "You look like you've seen a ghost. Or, you know, a time remnant with a very bad fashion sense."
Cisco glared at him. "Adam! How?! And what are you doing here?! We're trying to deal with a literal time paradox!"
"And I'm here to help!" Adam declared, spreading his hands. "With moral support. And, occasionally, with making your coffee taste like pure sunshine and rainbows." He snapped his fingers, and Cisco's spilled coffee, now on the floor, briefly shimmered with iridescent colors before vanishing.
Cisco stared at the spot. "My… my coffee… it was sparkling! You did that!"
"Me? Nah," Adam shrugged. "Must be the temporal displacement. Or maybe your coffee just has a secret life as a disco ball."
He then turned to Caitlin, who was looking particularly stressed. "Hey, Snow. You know, you look like you could use a break. Maybe a spontaneous sing-along?"
Caitlin blinked. "A… sing-along?"
Adam focused. [SYSTEM: Mind Control used. Target: Caitlin Snow. Effect: Temporary Compliance. Duration: Short.]
Suddenly, Caitlin, with a perfectly straight face, began to hum the theme song to "Friends." She then started to clap rhythmically. Cisco stared at her, then at Adam, then back at Caitlin, utterly bewildered.
"Caitlin? Are you… are you okay?" Cisco asked, genuinely concerned.
Caitlin stopped humming, blinking. "What? Oh. Yeah. Just… had a sudden urge for some reason. Weird." She looked at Adam suspiciously.
Adam just smiled innocently. "See? Told you. Spontaneous. It's a Central City thing."
Barry, walking in, looked at his two friends. "What's going on? I heard humming."
Cisco threw his hands up. "It's Adam, Barry! He's making people do weird things! He made the cops dance the 'Macarena' earlier!"
Barry stared at Adam, then a small smile, a genuine laugh, broke through his stressed façade. "You know," Barry thought, "this guy is absolutely insane. But somehow… he makes everything a little less terrible."

"Two birds, one stone, and a whole lot of bewildered expressions," Adam thought, teleporting away. "My work here is done. For now. Time to let them deal with the actual time paradox. I'm just here for the laughs."
