Chapter 57 - Chapter 46

The shapeshifter—now wearing Dean's face perfectly—heard footsteps approaching. He snatched a rusted metal crowbar from the ground and slipped into the shadows.

Aleksander, Sam, Dean, Wednesday, and Enid reached the spot where the golden trail ended. Shed skin, pus, and blood pooled on the concrete.

Aleksander scanned the area. "He's hiding somewhere close."

Enid sniffed the air, frowning. "I can't pick up his scent either."

Dean swept his flashlight around, gun raised. "Let's split up."

Telepathically, Aleksander's voice echoed in Sam and Wednesday's minds: "He's going to target Enid. Out of all of us, she looks like the weakest link."

Enid bit her lip, claws half-extended. "Wait, splitting up? In a creepy shapeshifter hideout? This is so not giving 'team building' vibes."

Wednesday's gaze was flat, unblinking. "Perfect. I'll take the path most likely to end in dismemberment."

Aleksander telepathically added."He is

Sam nodded. Aleksander glanced at Wednesday and Enid; they both gave sharp nods.

The group divided.Aleksander rolled up his sleeves, revealing the Ten Rings glinting on his forearms.

Enid crept forward, gripping the rune blade tightly. Suddenly, "Dean" stepped from the dark. "Little Wolf, looks like he's not here."

Enid tensed, blade ready. "Stay back."

"Dean" raised his hands. "Hey, it's me."She pointed the blade at him, hesitating just a second too long. The shapeshifter lunged, crowbar swinging knocking the Rune Blade in Enid's hand.He seized Enid by the throat, hoisting her off the ground. Her airway crushed; she gasped, vision blurring.

Enid's multi-colored claws flashed out, raking deep gashes across his face. The shapeshifter recoiled in shock and pain, dropping her.

Enid hit the concrete, coughing and sucking in air. Fury twisted his stolen features. He yanked out his knife and raised it to finish her.

Aleksander unleashed the Ten Rings. They pulsed with swirling blue and purple energy currents, a dim aura tracing glowing veins up his arms. He extended them into a crackling energy chain—the rings locked tight by a shimmering magic field

He swept both arms forward in a sharp arc,

the 5 Rings —whipping forward like striking serpents.

They wrapped the shapeshifter's arm and yanked him back hard, stopping the blade inches from Enid's chest.

Aleksander jerked his arms upward with a powerful snap and with a brutal surge, Aleksander him into the wall. Concrete cracked on impact.

Aleksander smirked. "Knew you'd go after Enid. Targeting women—picking what you think is the weakest link. It's your specialty."

The shapeshifter glared, eyes burning with rage, and lunged at Aleksander.Aleksander raised his hands. Bolts of electricity crackled around his fingertips, a blue spark arcing between them. It built into a massive surge.

Chain lightning erupted—a jagged chain of bright electric blue bolts that leaped forward. The air hummed with static, sparks jumping to nearby metal. The bolts struck the shapeshifter in rapid flashes, lighting him up as his body convulsed, electricity surging through him.

He screamed, flesh smoking—but he still stood.Enid seized the moment. She snatched the dropped rune blade and charged, driving it straight into the shapeshifter's heart.

The rune blade plunged into the shapeshifter's heart. His eyes flashed a glowing white before he crumpled to the ground, dead.

Enid stared at the body, dazed. This was her first kill—even if it was a demonic supernatural. Her hands trembled slightly.

Aleksander sensed her turmoil through his empathy. He stepped close and placed a steady hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry. You did what was necessary."

Enid grabbed onto him tightly, a quiet sob escaping as the adrenaline crashed.

Wednesday, Sam, and Dean rushed up, weapons ready. They stopped short at the sight of the shapeshifter—wearing Dean's face—sprawled lifeless.Dean stared, jaw tight. "Son of a bitch."

Wednesday approached, her expression unchanging. If asked, she'd deny any fondness, but she placed a hand on Enid's arm. "Crying achieves nothing. You've eliminated a threat. Statistically, that's progress."

Enid, still sniffling, let out a watery laugh. "You really suck at this."

Sam knelt beside her, voice gentle. "Hey, first one's always rough. You saved a lot of lives. That's what matters."

Dean holstered his gun, glancing at the corpse before meeting her eyes. "Kid, you just took down a shapeshifter wearing my face. That's badass. Shake it off—we got your back."

Aleksander pulled out his phone and called Dorn to notify the police. They arrived quickly, securing the shapeshifter's body and processing the scene with standard protocol.

Enid watched the body bag being loaded, still a little pale. "That's... really over? No more skin piles?"

Wednesday stood motionless, arms crossed. "The police will classify it as a rabid sewer rat. Their imagination is as limited as their competence."

By morning, the case was closed. The sheriff was dismissed for abusing his position to protect his son.

Aleksander shook hands with Sam and Dean. "Numbers?"

They exchanged contacts—hunters recognizing allies.Aleksander handed over a polished wooden case. Inside lay two rune blades, their etched runes catching the light. "For you. They'll handle anything demonic."

Dean grinned, hefting one. "Now we're talkin'."

Sam nodded gratefully. "Thanks, man."

[A/N: About lovers Wednesday and Enid are sure choice. Another is Hope Mikaelson, these three are my ideas. Also, about Twilight vampires, there skin is strong and pale. But not sparkling like disco ball here.]
