Things like meat and wine were no longer a sign of luxury and wealth. Now anyone could get them, though wine can be expensive and meat can be the same as well. The meat is dependent upon the cut of meat one wants to purchase. Another thing that isn't limited to the wealthy any longer is hunting and water sports. There is a hunting that is only for the people that are insanely wealthy, and it's called Big Game Hunting or Trophy Hunting.
These are the animals that the rulers and wealthy of ancient times kept as pets like leopards, tigers, and lions. They have now become things to hunt and kill just so they can mount their head or have their pelt as a trophy. This practice greatly upsets and disturbs all of us since we are all in one way or another related to an animal of some type. Bastet is highly upset with this since she is often depicted with either a cat's head or a lioness head.
The rulers and wealthy no longer have slaves that serve them, they are now called servants. The servants are free and also get paid for the jobs they do. They also get days off, sick leave, and other things like that. So they have it much better than the slaves that the pharaohs used to have. I mean they were often expected to serve the Pharaohs as sexual slaves or concubines. Many of the Pharaohs and their Queens used the slaves in this way. It was common practice for the Pharaohs to have many wives and concubines. Many of the slaves were prisoners of war, both soldiers and civilians, those that committed a crime of some kind or another, those that either were sold into slavery to pay a family debt or were the one who caused the debt themselves, and finally there were those that sold themselves to escape poverty or other situations.
There were even many Queen's that used the male slaves as concubines of sorts and when they tired of the slave or their husbands were getting close to finding out about their indiscretions, those often had it 'accidently' leaked by one of the other wives or by a concubine some even used a personal maid. When that happened the Queen then said the slave had assaulted them just so their husbands would never know what they had done. Altho in the history that mortals know there isn't any recorded events that a Pharaoh raised children any of his wives birthed that actually belonged to a male slave. The reason is actually simple and this is they would have been abandoned by the Pharaoh because they were held to a standard of purity and faithfulness.
So when the slaves or even ministers were accused obviously the Pharaoh was then furious and had the slave or whoever the offending person executed. The times when it was a trusted advisor to the Pharaoh it wasn't always the truth that they had indeed done something to the Queen. At times they were accused because they had made a move of some type either against the Queen or it was a move that the Queen didn't want to happen. These times were when the Queen was actually scheming against the Pharaoh and his rule. There were also times that the Queen was actually assaulted by someone that was a trusted person of the pharaoh and they got away with it just like with other royals in history.
Actually that happened not just in the Ancient Egyptian kingdom, it also happened in many kingdoms that we witnessed while in the Celestial Realm. It was a deadly game that was played in ancient times, the danger never did lessen throughout time.
If anything the situation probably got worse with the use of new discovered things like new poisons, especially when humanity got to the time of the Middle Ages. There were probably more schemes that were in place. The plots of the schemes were probably more deadly at least, because by this time the Queens definitely had their own harem of sorts. Or at least men that she preferred to be with "behind" the backs of the king and the court. I was amused though that the more the Queens thought they were being secretive the more it was known. What was more amusing was the fact that most times it was the court that knew so they used it to blackmail the queen, but the king was clueless. Most times he was too busy with his harem to even notice what his queen was even doing, since he had basically replaced her in all ways but title most times. Though some concubines did do some very wickedly deadly schemes that got them in the place of the queen eventually. Sometimes they weren't lucky enough to get the job done and even lost their favored position with the king. There were times that the king actually was enraged that they dared to harm his queen so the king had the concubine stripped of her title and then killed. Most times their families were lucky enough to escape any implications caused by their families daughter. Those that weren't as lucky were also executed with the disgraced former concubine. There were also times that not only was the family executed but the entire family was completely wiped out. This means that even the extended family suffered, sometimes multiple families were erased even in history.
