Then like now perfume and scented wax was used, it was only slightly different then. They have been more refined now so that they are different than they were in the past. In ancient times they were in jars and now they are in different types of bottles and other things like that. The waxes have been made into different scented candles instead of fragrant torches or even a type of incense as well as room fresheners. There are some that have been made into scented wax cubes and other shapes to be melted to create a specific type of mood in a room.
The jewelry then was to symbolize a Pharaoh's divine status as well as wealth and social standing. It functioned to hold clothes in place as well as their hair. Certain things like gold, silver, copper and certain gemstones were believed to provide protection. They could also be used to convey a religious significance, like only being used for particular ceremony purposes. While the Ancient Egyptians adorned themselves in gold and gemstones believing that they held divine power. The Greek and Romans jewelry consisted of mythological symbols and figures to reflect their religious beliefs and culture.
Now it is available to everyone no matter their status in society. They also no longer only hold hair and clothes in place like before, but now adorn necks as necklaces, wrists for bracelets, fingers for rings, ears for earrings, belly buttons, noses, eyebrows, and tongues. Yes, the more expensive pieces are still used to show status like before, mostly for Royalty and those that can afford it. They were also used for religious affiliations as well just like in the past, I believe that is one thing about jewelry that is still the same as 3,000 years ago.
There is still jewelry that is used as religious shows, there are crosses that are made into necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings. There is also the jewelry that is made for Popes, the clergy, as well as other religious leaders. These are used as divine ways and religious relics still to this day. So this hasn't changed as much as other things have. The use of pearls and gems have replaced the pure gold and silver jewelry that was once favored. Some designs are also not as chunkily constructed as in the past, now it's more likely for the jewelry to be designed in a more delicate way. There are some pieces today that are considered to be 'chunky' but they are supposed to replicate the styles of decades past.
In 1965 our fellow companion Geb awoke, it was in August of that year in the time of harvest. Geb is the God of Earth, he is believed to help the crops grow and is worshiped during the harvest season. It was also believed by the ancients that when Geb laughed it caused earthquakes. He was also depicted as helping the dead with their travels. He is often associated with not only the goose that is his animal but also with snakes and green vegetation. It is because we descended during the planting season that he was able to gather the energy from the entire Earth. At least this is what we believe happened, and why it only took 10 years for him to awaken from is incapacitated form. Although we aren't exactly sure if that is the whole reason for him to suddenly awaken, since we thought it would take more than a decade for anyone else to wake up.
