Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Trap is Sprung

Jason's heart pounded as he stepped into the HelixCore skyscraper, the shining glass monolith that once symbolized everything he had failed to conquer in his previous life. Now, reborn with the Billionaire System and armed with future knowledge, he was here not as a broken man—but as a shadow of the empire he would soon reclaim.

Every movement was calculated. Every smile practiced.

He wore a tailored black suit that cost more than his old life's rent, powered by adaptive fibers keyed into the System's nanoweave tech—a product not yet available on the market. He looked like a rising mogul. He moved like a predator.

Inside the elevator, his assistant Vivian whispered, "Phase One complete. Our agents have triggered the algorithm within the HelixCore stock pipeline. Once their servers update at noon, they'll lose 3.2% in phantom assets."

Jason nodded. "And what of Callahan?"

"Still believes he's negotiating with a rookie."

Jason chuckled. "Good. Let's keep the tiger asleep until I pull the leash."

Inside the top-floor conference room, Harvey Callahan—interim CEO of HelixCore and the same man who orchestrated Jason's fall in his previous life—offered a smirk laced with patronizing menace.

"I must say, Mr. Axton," Callahan began, motioning toward a seat, "I'm impressed by your ambition. But I can't help but wonder—what's your angle?"

Jason smiled calmly. "I want to be part of the future. And you're in the way."

Callahan's brow arched. "Is that a threat?"

"No." Jason leaned forward. "That's a courtesy."

Behind the glass walls, digital panels flickered. Jason's System interface fed him real-time data: stock fluctuations, security blind spots, heartbeat readings. Callahan was sweating.

Just as the clock struck noon, alarms echoed from HelixCore's IT wing.

Jason stood slowly. "Check your offshore asset tree."

Callahan's phone buzzed. He glanced at it, face blanching. "This is impossible…"

"Nothing's impossible," Jason said, already walking away. "Only outdated."

In the elevator, Vivian grinned. "Did we just bankrupt them?"

Jason shook his head. "No. We just showed them we could."

Vivian blinked. "Why not finish them?"

"Because pawns run," Jason said, eyes gleaming. "Kings retaliate."

And the game had only just begun.
