Kyle, Jake, Shawn and James make it up a hill, where they spot a crashed Condemned barge.
Jake: Is that a barge?
James: Looks the one we shot down at the bridge.
Kyle, Jake, Shawn and James approach the crashed barge to find many dead Condemned along with little creatures scurrying around the area.
Jake: There's a lot here we could salvage if we had the time.
James: Ugh.....
Jake: What?
James: Those creepy little bastards there. They won't leave a damn thing alone.
James laughs.
Jake: Back when I was in A.O.W, those things would always crawl up your legs and try to bite your dick....influenced the guys to always wear their cups more often. Shit, I tell you, boy, those things' bites are no joke....most of the dick or your tip would survive.
James: Are those guys still alive to bitch about it?
Jake: More or less.....some....
Jake imitates suicide.
Jake: Seeing as how they can't fuck anymore.
Kyle: C'mon. We gotta find some faster transportation.
As Kyle, Jake, Shawn and James look around, another Condemned barge is seen flying around.
Kyle: That's our ticket to Archly Gate. Let's track it down.
Kyle, Jake, Shawn and Jake continue moving forward, before James snags the navigation system from the crashed Condemned Barge.
James: Hey, Kyle. When we hijack that thing, let me drive. I have a way we can control it.
Kyle: It's all yours, James.
Kyle, Jake, Shawn and James exit the other side of a cave, where they noticed a decayed corpse in a cage that is hanging on a tree.
James: Anyone else see the dead guy in the cage?
Kyle: It's a keep out or die sign.....it's too scare people off.
A short pause.
Shawn: Well, it almost worked.
Jake spots the barge out in the distance of the deadlands, where the decayed corpses of sea creatures such as whales and shark lie.
Jake: There goes our barge.
Kyle: They gotta land soon. Come on or we're going to lose them.
Out in the distance, rapid movement underground is noticed far ahead.
Jake: I saw movement out there somewhere....
The movement underground shifts towards the group.
Kyle: Spread out!
Kyle, Jake, Shawn and James spread out. Shortly after, a large spider like leg emerges from behind Jake, intending on attacking him, before Shawn notices.
Shawn: Holy shit! Jake! Behind you!
Jake: What the fuck?!
Kyle, Jake, Shawn and James shoot at the spider leg, causing it to retreat. Suddenly, a smaller Eight-Legged Titan emerges from the ground.
Kyle: What the-
James: Shit, it's a Eight Legged Titan....only smaller!
Kyle, Jake, Shawn and James open fire at the small Eight Legged Titan, before Jake tosses a grenade at it as it explodes, killing it. A Condemned drone attacks, before he is killed by James with a shot to the head.
Jake: There's bound to be more in the area.
James: Oh, I'm sure his ugly ass friends are around here somewhere.
Kyle: Let's keep moving, before we his friends find us.
As the group proceeds, Condemned drones above them attempt to attack, before James manages to spot them.
James: Called it! Condemned above us!
Kyle, Jake, Shawn and James manage to suppress another Condemned attack, before continuing on their journey. In the wreckage of the U.S. Cassidy, Sarah, Cassandra, Caleb and Marcus help the remaining survivors collect the salvage while Maya and Margaret tend to the wounded.
Margaret: You guys are lucky....hell, we all are.
Maya looks at Margaret's shoulder wound.
Maya: You should get that checked out, Margaret.
Margaret: I'll be fine, honey. I've had worse scraps than this. Trust me....Marcus would be on my ass about little shit like this all the time. Whenever he would get bruises or scratches, my Dad always thought he would need a bandage.....just him overreacting.
Maya laughs.
Maya: My brother was tough...brave.....always going on runs.....he had a crush on Sarah when she first showed up, but she had eyes for Kyle.....
Margaret: Did you know her brother?
Maya: I only spoke to Nathan once or twice, but barely...I mostly hung out with Ashley because she was one of the closest things I had to a friend in a long time.
Maya looks over to Sarah.
Maya: She was strong.....stronger than me.....still hard to believe it's been three months....you know; I would've wanted to have kids...find a descent man.....get married....have kids....try to live like my Mom and Dad did.....but-
Margaret: I know....this world....it's just too risky.....I hope Sarah knows what she's doing.
Sarah is collecting salvage as Marcus runs over to help her.
Marcus: Hey, don't overwork yourself, okay?
Sarah: Thanks.
Marcus: Don't mention it. We gotta look out for each other.....especially you.
Sarah: Marcus, I appreciate the concern, but I don't need special treatment...I can still take care of myself.
Marcus: I know; it's just.....for a while, we have hope.....your baby....Kyles' dad probably knowing a way to kill the Krens.....we need that.....we need that spark to keep us ignited.
Sarah nods, before Marcus walks off as Caleb approaches Sarah.
Caleb: How are you doing?
Sarah: I'm holding out. You?
Caleb: Nothing that won't heal.....
Sarah: It's still strange.....seeing Pierce.....all these years thinking he was dead and now that he actually is, I don't know what to feel. Yes, he left us and basically screwed over his own army and hell, even Bowers, but in the end, I'd like to think he was helping Kyle when he had his Dad prisoner all this time...
Caleb: You think we'll recover from this?
Sarah: We recovered from Midtown Manhattan.....we'll recover from this.....c'mon....let's try to salvage what we can.
