Chapter 12 - WHY IT IS SO COMPLICATED

With a hint of hesitation, AK stepped into the ruins. The path ahead was wild and broken, overgrown with moss and vines. After nearly an hour of navigating the uneven ground, he finally reached the source of the mysterious aura.

What he saw left him speechless.

> "What... an egg?" AK blinked in disbelief. "This huge aura… is coming from that? It's massive—bigger than my backpack."

He stared at the strange egg lying silently in the middle of a broken shrine-like structure. Its surface pulsed faintly, as if something inside was breathing.

> "Didn't you say something was sleeping or maybe dead here? That must mean the creature inside... is already gone, right?" AK muttered.

[RED: NO. I CAN STILL SENSE A HEARTBEAT. THIS ISN'T A NORMAL EGG. THIS… IS A DRAGON EGG.]

> "A dragon egg?!" AK's eyes widened.

[RED: AND NOT JUST ANY DRAGON—THIS IS THE EGG OF THE WAR DRAGON GOD.]

> "The War Dragon God?! That sounds insanely powerful! If it hatches and I'm standing nearby... I'll probably become its breakfast!" AK said, sweating nervously.

[RED: DON'T WORRY. IT'S NOT GOING TO HATCH ANYTIME SOON. IT REQUIRES 2,000,000 MANA TO BREAK THROUGH ITS SHELL.]

> "2 million mana?! And you knew all this but didn't tell me before?" AK shot back.

[RED: THIS EGG'S LOCATION—JUST LIKE THE ALTAR OF THE GOD OF CURIOSITY—IS A MYSTERY EVEN TO ME. I ONLY FOUND IT NOW THANKS TO YOUR LUCK STAT. BE GRATEFUL. YOU'RE LUCKY TO HAVE FOUND IT.]

> "Huh… So wasting 1000 mana stones to explore this place was worth it after all," AK muttered. "Whatever. I'm taking it."

[RED: WAIT. WHAT IF IT'S A TRAP?]

> "Relax. This isn't a dungeon. Just some old ruins," AK replied confidently.

He reached out and carefully picked up the egg. Nothing happened.

Relieved, he placed it inside his system inventory—courtesy of RED—and turned back with a grin.

That night, after reaching home, AK sat on his bed, staring at the ceiling.

> "Wait… RED, didn't you say 2 million mana is needed to hatch the egg?" he asked, suddenly concerned. "How am I supposed to gather that? I only have 550 mana right now... and that takes a whole day to refill!"

[RED: THE ONLY WAY TO HATCH IT… IS TO INCREASE YOUR LEVEL.]

> "So basically... I have to grind like hell," AK sighed. "Fine. I'll level up fast. First, I'll text Hazzy and let him know I'll join tomorrow's raid."

He made a plan: upgrade to D-rank as soon as possible. So far, he and Hazzy had only raided F and E-rank dungeons. Once he became D-rank, they could challenge stronger dungeons.

---

4 Days Later…

After clearing yet another dungeon, AK stormed into his room, frustrated.

> "What the hell?! After all that effort, I only collected 12,000 mana stones?" he yelled. "That's only enough to level up four times! What a joke!"

[RED: MAYBE IT'S TIME TO START RAIDING D-RANK DUNGEONS. EVEN THE LOWEST TIER ONES.]

> "Yeah… That makes sense. I'll join a different guild for a while to raid a D-rank dungeon."

[RED: A SMART CHOICE.]

> "Alright then. Go ahead and level me up 4 times," AK ordered.

[RED: AS YOU WISH.]

> "Wait a second… How the hell am I supposed to get new skills?" he asked, irritated.

[RED: YOU CAN'T UNTIL LEVEL 30. ONCE YOU REACH THAT POINT, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO CHOOSE A CLASS—AND GAIN SKILLS BASED ON THAT.]

> "Why is everything in your system so long and complicated?!" AK complained. "Whatever. I'll just use all my mana on the egg for now."

He channeled every bit of his mana into the dragon egg.

Immediately, his body gave out. The exhaustion overwhelmed him, and he collapsed onto his bed—completely drained.

---

The next morning, AK woke up to the sound of his phone ringing.

It was a call from the guild member leading today's raid into the lowest D-rank dungeon. The caller's name was Ajay.

.

And so, with the egg safely stored and a new plan in mind, AK's journey to awaken the War Dragon God had officially begun.
