Chapter 11 - RUINS

[RED: AK, AK, WAKE UP!]

AK woke up from his sleep with restlessness and said in a sleepy tone,

"Why are you waking me up? Let me sleep. Didn't I tell you to not disturb me?"

[RED: YOU'RE STILL FEELING SLEEPY AFTER SLEEPING FOR A WHOLE DAY AND A HALF?]

"What? I actually slept for one and a half days?" AK replied, surprised.

[RED: I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD, SO I TRIED TO WAKE YOU UP!]

"Don't joke," AK said, rubbing his eyes.

[RED: YOU THINK I'M JOKING AT A TIME LIKE THIS—WHEN NEITHER OF US KNOWS WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT, AND EVERYTHING'S MOVING FASTER THAN THE ERASED TIMELINE?]

"Hey, why are you getting angry?" AK said. "Now's the time to find the Altar of the God of Curiosity, MOZAMILLIUM. It's good that I haven't received any missed calls or messages from the White Tiger Guild."

[RED: I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THAT. DO YOU KNOW WHERE IT'S LOCATED?]

"Yeah, I think I do. There's a place called the Ruins of the Great King Shaman. MOZAMILLIUM's altar might be located there," AK said. "Time for a treasure hunt."

[RED: DON'T FORGET—YOU'RE STILL JUST AN E-RANK. YOU NEED TO LEVEL UP TO ATLEAST D-RANK.]

"I know that," AK nodded. "I've planned to upgrade soon, but this isn't the right time. Things are escalating too quickly. I also heard that India got its first S-Rank Hunter—Nishchay Malhaan."

[RED: WHAT!? NISHCHAY? HE'S A YOUTUBER FROM MY WORLD! I DON'T REMEMBER ADDING HIM INTO MY NOVEL.]

"You're saying he's not from your novel? Forget it—let's just head to the ruins," AK said.

While heading toward the ruins, AK texted Hazzy to let him know he was going somewhere.

"Hey... if I was reincarnated into another world, then why didn't my body change? Isn't reincarnation supposed to mean that your soul goes into someone else's body?" AK asked Red curiously.

[RED: I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THAT QUESTION. YOU GOT REINCARNATED INTO A VERSION OF YOURSELF FROM THIS TIMELINE. THE OWNER OF THIS BODY—ADNAN KHAN FROM THIS WORLD IS DIED BECAUSE OF YOUR REINCARNATION.]

"What?! My other self died because of me? Are you saying you killed me in another world just to save me here?"

[RED: NO! I TOLD YOU—IT WAS UNINTENTIONAL. I DIDN'T MEAN TO BRING YOU HERE. I WAS TRYING TO TURN BACK TIME BY TEN YEARS... BUT THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED.]

"So that's the case… RIP me," AK said with a sad tone.

[RED: IT'S NOT JUST YOU. I WAS ALSO SUMMONED INTO THE BODY OF THE STRONGEST PRIMORDIAL BEING—AND THAT BEING DIED BECAUSE I TOOK OVER.]

[RED: THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS BODY MADE THE ORIGINAL PROTAGONIST OF THIS STORY HIS INCARNATION, AND HE HELPED HIM ALL THE TIME. WITHOUT HIM, THE ORIGINAL PROTAGONIST WOULD'VE DIED LONG AGO.]

"So just because of the two of us, three living beings died…" AK said, voice low.

[RED: DON'T FEEL GUILTY. IT'S CALLED SURVIVAL INSTINCT.]

[RED: AND THIS IS ALSO ONE OF THE REASONS WHY GODS—WHO CAN SEE THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE—AND ANGELS—THEIR SERVANTS—HAVE BECOME OUR ENEMIES.]

While chatting, they reached their destination. The place looked like a ruined wasteland—overgrown with algae, moss, and plants.

"Finally, we're here," AK said.

[RED: SO THIS IS WHERE YOU THINK MOZAMILLIUM'S ALTAR IS?]

"Yeah, I think so. But if you're the writer of this novel, then shouldn't you know exactly where the altar is?" AK asked Red.

[RED: IN THE ORIGINAL NOVEL, THERE'S NO MENTION OF MOZAMILLIUM'S ALTAR. BUT I DID WRITE THAT IF IT DOES EXIST, IT WOULD BE IN SOME RUINS. WHICH RUINS—THAT I NEVER DECIDED.]

"What kind of psycho writer are you…" AK muttered.

They entered the ruins. As they went deeper, RED suddenly said something that felt all too familiar.

[RED: I'M SENSING A NEUTRAL AURA OF A POWERFUL BEING INSIDE THE RUINS… BUT IT'S NOT MOZAMILLIUM.]

"What!? Again? Do we have to fight someone?

[RED: I DON'T THINK YOU'LL HAVE TO FIGHT IT. THE BEING IS EITHER ASLEEP… OR DEAD.]

With hesitation, AK entered ruins. After nearly an hour of walking—thanks to the broken, overgrown path—he finally reached the source of the aura. He approached cautiously.

What he saw left him stunned.

"What… an egg? The aura is coming from a mere egg?! Why is it so huge? It's bigger than a backpack…"
