Chapter 15: Traveling Together, Departing the Royal Capital

Nfirea Bale didn't hesitate; he seemed very interested in Tang Zheng, a peer not much older than himself. "I need to discuss this with my grandmother. You can all follow me for now."

With that said,

Nfirea turned and hurried toward the exit of the Adventurer's Guild.

"Let's follow along. It's a good chance to meet the client," Captain Dosali said to the other three members. He then looked at Tang Zheng and smiled warmly, "Coming along?"

Tang Zheng nodded gently.

Captain Dosali walked alongside Tang Zheng toward the hall's exit, with the other three squad members following closely behind, subtly forming a protective screen around Tang Zheng.

After Tang Zheng displayed his healing magic, many adventurer teams had already been itching to make a move.

At this moment,

The Rock Squad's actions caused many of the surrounding adventurer teams to curse silently.

At the reception desk.

The brown-haired girl, Daya, watched Tang Zheng leave with the Rock Squad, a hint of envy and sadness in her eyes.

"How impressive," she murmured. "You can't tell just by looking at him, but he's actually a Divine Magic Caster. If only my younger brother…"

Daya whispered to herself, but she quickly put on a professional smile to greet other adventurers.

Outside the entrance of the Adventurer's Guild.

A cargo cart was parked there, its somewhat old wooden trailer piled high with goods. The bottom layer held wooden crates of various sizes, while the top was covered with a layer of dry, straw-like plants.

As one approached the cart, a strong, pungent scent of medicinal herbs filled the air.

At the very front of the cart sat an old woman holding a whip, her head wrapped in a light green kerchief. It was none other than Nfirea Bale's grandmother, Rigrit.

Tang Zheng and the members of the Rock Squad walked out the entrance and saw Nfirea speaking with his grandmother. Clearly, he was telling her what had just happened inside the guild hall.

Tang Zheng's group didn't approach immediately, but waited near the back of the cart.

They didn't have to wait long.

Nfirea walked over, a happy expression on his face.

"Grandma agreed. Tang, you can come with us."

"However, she wants you to demonstrate your healing magic for her again," Nfirea said with a smile.

"No problem," Tang Zheng replied softly.

Rather than casually following any merchant caravan or adventurer team to E-Rantel, accompanying Nfirea and his grandmother, whom he was now somewhat familiar with, was far more reassuring.

What's more!

Nfirea's grandmother, Rigrit, was a magic caster capable of using third-tier magic!

Tang Zheng followed Nfirea and approached his grandmother, Rigrit.

Her wrinkled face and white hair made her appear very old. Her expressionless demeanor and slightly prominent jawbones made Rigrit seem difficult to get along with.

In reality,

Someone capable of raising a person with Nfirea's gentle disposition couldn't have too bad a personality themselves.

"Where are you from? Black hair and dark brown eyes are quite rare in the Kingdom."

Rigrit looked at Tang Zheng expressionlessly.

Upon hearing this,

Tang Zheng froze; that was a difficult question to answer.

"Never mind. It's an insignificant matter. Cast your healing magic on this horse of mine."

Rigrit squinted slightly, extending a hand to point at the black horse pulling the cart.

The horse appeared quite old. On the spot on its neck where the harness rested, a visible indentation had formed, seemingly from years of pulling the cart.

The hair on its rump was sparse, and several faint red marks were still visible.

"Alright."

Tang Zheng didn't waste words. He raised his palm toward the black horse and said, "Cure Minor Wounds."

The magic power he could clearly feel within him was mostly drained in an instant!

A soft white light emanated, enveloping the black horse. The red marks on its rump quickly healed and disappeared.

"Hmph!"

The black horse shook its head and snorted, appearing very comfortable.

*Huu…*

Tang Zheng exhaled.

Although he didn't feel tired, his magic power was nearly depleted.

The first-tier spell, "Cure Minor Wounds," consumed 5 MP. Including the one he had demonstrated earlier in the Adventurer's Guild hall, he had now used it twice.

With his total MP at only 13, he wouldn't be able to cast it again even if he was asked to!

Tang Zheng glanced at the MP value on his status panel. Not a single point of MP had recovered since he first used "Cure Minor Wounds."

The automatic recovery rate of his magic power was much slower than he had anticipated.

It might also be because he currently lacked a magic-based job class.

Although the "Genius" job class could be converted into any basic class, it clearly didn't provide the attribute bonuses or effects that other job classes did.

"Hmm." Only then did Rigrit nod, a smile cracking across her wrinkled cheeks. "It seems our return to E-Rantel can be a bit faster. Let's set off."

After speaking,

Rigrit no longer paid any attention to Tang Zheng. She called out to Nfirea, and once he climbed onto the cart and sat beside her,

*Crack!*

Accompanied by the sound of the whip cracking against the horse,

The wooden wheels, pressing against the stone bricks of the road, set off with a creaking sound.

Tang Zheng and the members of the Rock Squad could only follow closely behind; they clearly hadn't been invited to ride on the cart.

Thankfully,

The fully loaded cart couldn't move very fast anyway.

May 17th, fourth year before the Common Era.

On his second day after transmigrating, Tang Zheng left the Royal Capital.

Most of the Re-Estize Kingdom's territory consisted of plains. The north and west bordered the sea, boasting two large port cities.

The Kingdom's populace was primarily human, with a very sparse demi-human population. This was inherently linked to the populace's general aversion to other races.

In recent years, it was said that

the southern Slane Theocracy was at war with the Elf Kingdom even further south. Occasionally, Forest Elves would be sold to the Re-Estize Kingdom and the Baharuth Empire.

The prices were exorbitant, generally over 300 gold coins.

And that was for ordinary Forest Elves; some who possessed class skills fetched prices over 1,000 gold coins.

It was said that such Forest Elves were sold as "living magic items."

Three days had passed since their group left the Royal Capital. Tang Zheng learned this information during his conversations with the members of the Rock Squad.

The members of the Rock Squad seemed intent on fostering a closer relationship with Tang Zheng, so they answered almost every simple question he asked.

As a result,

Tang Zheng also indirectly learned some basic common knowledge and information about this world.

They encountered no dangers along the way, perhaps because they were still within the central region of the Kingdom.

After a few days of contact,

Besides everyone getting to know each other on a basic level, Tang Zheng finally understood why Rigrit, despite being able to use third-tier magic, would still hire adventurers.

It was for manual labor!

The cartload of medicinal herbs she was transporting needed to be taken out and aired in the sun for a while each day.

The work of loading and unloading the goods naturally fell to the Rock Squad. For this, Captain Dosali had secretly complained to Tang Zheng several times.

As for Tang Zheng,

He wasn't idle either. During the periods when the herbs were being aired out, as well as during their rest time at night, he was required to use healing magic on the horse.

It wasn't just to heal the superficial wounds from the whip.

According to Rigrit, healing magic could not only mend injuries but also restore a portion of the target's stamina.

This situation made Tang Zheng realize that a skill's in-game effects differed somewhat from its application in the real world.

At the same time, through this continuous consumption of magic power,

Tang Zheng also observed his own magic power regeneration: approximately one point recovered per hour.
