Chapter 42 - Curse of the Red Dragon (5)

My eyes flickering and my breathing steady in an attempt to keep calm and get a hold of the situation. Curse?

"You say cursed?"

I uttered, raising an eyebrow and squinting my nose.

Frankly, it wasn't surprising that he had cursed the kingdom. The surprising part was that the curse was on its own.

He reluctantly sighed again and pinched his nose bridge with a scowl face before explaining.

"It occurred five years prior, when I was still an ombudsman for the Yellow Dragons..."

I tilted my head and tried guessing what's coming next.

[Tael, his mana is funny]

Tomb interrupted with an interesting echo.

(What's with the voice?)

[A style I picked up from some old folks in the Demi Damn hole]

He gritted his teeth, cleaning off his blood filled hands with an ominous lour. While he stood over the pile of fallen bodies of greed suncken humans, bleeding from every corner of their bodies.

Some humans lay low, feigning an act to distract the dragon in a human boy form. His eyes glowed red, and the mana suffocating. With his thick voice, he ordered without any mercy shown.

"Flee from my eyes before I chase."

The remaining men cried as they ran away. The place shredded wracked with acute pain.

"The sum of men belong to one country alone, my liege."

A taller fit man arrived behind the mighty red dragon's shadow, and he spared him a glance.

"Which country?"

The fit man gulped hard and muttered respectfully as he kept bowing.

"Kingdom of Autlia, my liege."

Tremious stared off into the distance, the red mana emanating from his scales that covered his nape and fingers. He wrenched the last man standing and immediately toke stance with the sinister look iced to his face.

The kingdom bustling with life, and he walked through the streets, scanning through the crowd. He took a slight moment to talk to himself.

(Should I kill them all?)

"Di, Oh! Why must the women carry the child!?"

A voice barged into Tremious's thoughts, and the stoic facade on his face cracked. He glanced at some women whining and at vulnerable states with an interesting accent. They carried life in their wombs, each of them heading to Taroukasin.

"Di, He didn't even company you?"

"Di, not at all!"

"Di, why did I even marry such a man?"

He sipped his tea, blowing at it a few times and silently staring at the ladies. It didn't take long for him to finish the tea inside Taroukasin and let his ears peeve into another snicker coming from behind his seat.

"The last wasn't the best. This time, we will get hold of yellow scales!"

"Dozens, this time we take healers and mages!"

Large men with crooked teeth yelled out with optimism.

Tremious eyes narrowed at the words uttered from such low lives, the teetering eyes of his glowing bright red.

His scales ingrained back to his body, but this time around, the people surrounding him weren't so lucky -

Takkkaaakk

The hall shredded and drenched immediately, the place hitched above, and wooden planks scattered everywhere with one single blow. The sight was seldom, when would there be another day when you see the red mighty dragon behold and rest its feet on the golden land.

The men before composure shifted to immediate pleading eyes and panic-striken bodies. Their face faltered as if the soul had been sucked out from them for good.

A giant long tail with scales like molten iron fixed and it's one massive body, healing with fiery glow. One roar made them to their fall and cut through the air that they breathed. The face of the dragon, certainly filled with rage. It didn't go rampage immediately, but more than that, it was a show to scare.

So it flapped its giant wings repeatedly, while men or women sprinted away desperately. The wind caused a small storm to come, fire glowing lasers falling from the sky, and the lasers only fell to its own body. He wasn't here to harm.

He was lifted up, the magic and wind playing swiftly and accepting his commands with loyalty to spare. Flames erupted from his maw in a raging torrent, and the soft, fragile city was demolished into shreds.

He stayed still in the air, while the people below witnessed the magnificent sight of the sun gracefully wrapping its light around the red scales of the dragon. It opened its mouth slowly. However, it wasn't for to roar.

"Curse the land that disrupts one's slumber and peace by their needs."

His slow agitating voice ordered and immediately sparks wrapped around his body. Golden chains coiled around his body along the giant sparks, melting into his skin. His red eyes turned white while the people below feared for the worst.

His each breath turned hope into cinders, and the air gripped tightly and strangled men with suffocation. The red dragon suddenly roared, not in triumph but in sheer pain from the sparks and the chains.

Whislt the men below remained clueless of his pain, and with enormous fumes, the red dragon vanished right from their sight.

His small, frail body fell to the ground as he tried his best to catch his breath. The scales on his body are not present anymore. He glanced at the giant beings in front of him that were curtained with mist and fog.

"Retrieve the curse before or pay the price Red Dragon."

Tremuous let out a laugh with great pain and shook his head while smirking.

"Well then, you are reframed from using the abilities graced upon you for the sinister crime of meddling with short livers."
