Jihoon stealthily entered the building, gun raised. He tapped his earpiece. "My team has searched all the perimeters. The whole building seems empty."
"Is the target still in the building?
"Have you searched the top floor?" the voice asked.
The omega climbed the stairs, pocketing his gun. "I'm headed there now."
"And where is the rest of your team?"
Jihoon pulled off his mask, tossing it to the floor. "They're keeping watch downstairs—"
A faint groan reached his ears. Instantly, Jihoon drew his gun, muscles tensing. "Who's there?!" he barked.
There was no response.
The stairs were winding, the metal creaking beneath his weight. At the top, he found a man curled up on the floor, blood pooling beneath him.
Jihoon put his gun down. "Who are you?"
The other only coughed. "Please... don't kill him. He's innocent."
His voice was weak, eyes fluttering close. He was on the verge of his death.
The omega's brows furrowed in confusion. "None of the targets are innocent."
