I got into the carriage that was arranged by Nadia and it started moving. I asked Nadia who sat across from me "Elsa hates me but she always comes to talk to me... wonder why that is?"
"Um... maybe she wants you to notice her?"
"She told me straight up that she hated me before you know? I have been trying to stay away from Elsa because of that."
"Lady Elsa is not honest..."
Not honest? She is very honest in my eyes. As a duke daughter she probably should not say everything she thinks but Elsa never hides how she feels about me and just comes right at me. It is kinda cute. She does have some mean feelings but compared to my parents and everyone else who makes fun of me it is way less. Even when she tries to be mean she cannot really pull it off. She is just a good kid deep down.
When the carriage stopped at the town square I quickly got out and smiled at Nadia who rushed out after me.
"Nadia go buy some opera cakes."
"What about you Lady Seratina?"
"I have something to do. It might take a while so after you buy the cakes just wait in the carriage."
"No my lady, let me go instead."
"No. I have to go myself."
Before Nadia could say anything else I took off way faster than a proper lady should. Because of that I got to where I was going pretty fast.
The kingdom largest guild Gretel. I had heard it was named like that because the first master Gretel. I went inside and called out to the receptionist at the counter.
"Um."
"Hello, what do you need? Got a job for us?"
"I need someone who knows about the empire geography."
"The empire? You need someone to go with you?"
"No. I need to go to the empire and I know there are regular trips from the royal capital to the imperial capital, but I do not know how to get around outside the capital..."
"Then you should probably take someone with you right?"
This obviously rich girl was acting like she had some kind of secret. Before entering the guild, I had changed my hair color to brown and used magic to change my face a bit so maybe that was why. I pulled out a bunch of money from my bag and put it down in front of the receptionist.
"I will pay whatever it costs."
"That is not the problem..."
But it is for me. I knew they were trying to help but I just wanted someone to tell me about the geography. While we were both stuck wondering what to do a man voice called out "What is going on?"
"Sir Lance."
A big guy with a shaved head and a diagonal scar on his forehead curiously came over. I felt like I had seen him somewhere before but I needed to deal with the receptionist first.
"She wants someone who knows about empire geography to go outside the empire but she does not want anyone to go with her."
"That is no good. I do not know what your deal is but going alone is dangerous."
I knew they were trying to help but it sucked that I could not tell them the real reason.
"By the way, how far outside the imperial capital are you going?"
"Um... I want to go to a forest about twenty kilometers north of the imperial capital."
"I think that is the Morning Fairies Forest where small fairy folk like to hang out. What do you need there?"
At this point they probably would not be happy unless I told them something.
"I want to meet the mages who lives in that forest..."
"That is... could it be Mr. Feres Caeruleum?"
"You know him?"
"Yeah. He is an acquaintance."
It was true that I wanted to meet Feres. I told them I wanted fairy dust which comes from fairy race's magical power. I had heard that Feres usually takes on clients who visit him so I really wanted to go see him. Fairy dust is mostly used to boost magical power and it is also really beautiful so I made up a story about wanting to give it to my fiancé.
"Fairy dust for your fiancé... That is nice but you are using disguise magic right?"
"Yes..."
"That means you are probably a noble young lady or something."
"I will pay whatever it costs. So can you please help me out?"
"Hmm. The fact that you are going alone is the problem..."
So I really could not go without someone coming with me? The receptionist and I both stared at Lance as he crossed his arms thinking.
"Ah. But I think..."
"Was it a few days ago? I got a message from Feres. He said he is coming to the royal capital in four days."
"To the royal capital?"
"Yeah. Apparently there is something that only exists in the royal capital and he is coming to look for it."
Something that a mages like Feres wants is in the royal capital...? I have lived in the royal capital for about eighteen years, but I cannot think of what it could be.
"He said he would drop by when he comes to the royal capital so when he comes, I will contact you miss."
"Really?"
"In exchange prove your identity."
"Understood."
My husband from my past life who I wanted to see was coming to the royal capital. I could not miss that opportunity. Lance asked me to so I undid my disguise magic. Both of them gasped when my hair color and face changed right away.
"Well this is surprising... You are quite a beauty."
"Thank you. I am Seratina Platine."
"Platine you mean the super rich family. But most of the Platine family are not good at magic right?"
"Yeah. But I guess I am pretty good at magic."
"I see."
"My fiancé is also good at magic, so I want the fairy dust."
It was not a lie, but I did not want the fairy dust for Schwartz. Lance looked at the receptionist and told her he would handle my request and the receptionist said okay. He wrote something down on a list on the counter. The job was officially taken.
"When Feres comes I will send you a message by magic."
"Thank you. This helps."
Now I had a way to see Feres. Even if he had another woman he loved with him I wanted to see him just once. After seeing him I would leave the kingdom. I could move to the empire. Even as a wanderer they would want a mages around.
