Chapter 300: New Abilities
Inside the System Dungeon, Kyosuke gazed at the swarm of Sand ninja rushing toward him. Without a shred of hesitation, he charged headlong into the army of hundreds.
"Swish!"
Moving faster than a thrown kunai, Kyosuke plunged instantly into the heart of the enemy formation. His speed was so great that the surrounding enemies dared not use large-scale ninjutsu for fear of hitting their own comrades.
With his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan active, the fists, feet, and blades aiming for him seemed to move in slow motion. Attacks of this speed were effortlessly dodged.
But it wasn't just his vision. He instantly detected the intent of several Sand ninja attempting a sneak attack from behind. They were met with a merciless counterattack before they could even strike.
This was one of the abilities Kyosuke had gained from Uchiha Hiroshi: Killing Intent Sensing.
As the name implied, anyone harboring the intent to kill him—regardless of how well they concealed their presence or chakra—could not hide from Kyosuke's perception.
This ability was somewhat similar to the Negative Emotion Sensing used by Naruto in his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, but there were distinct differences.
Negative Emotion Sensing detected any ill will. However, the human heart is complex. A person might feel sudden jealousy or petty resentment over a trivial matter. Whether that resentment reached the level of wanting to kill was something Naruto's ability couldn't necessarily distinguish.
In contrast, Kyosuke's ability only triggered when the hostility reached the point of lethal intent. In other words, he might not know who simply disliked him, but he would always know who wanted him dead.
For Kyosuke, Killing Intent Sensing was far more practical. Pure malice had too many variables.
More importantly, Kyosuke valued this ability for one specific reason: it could track White Zetsu. If that creature dared to approach him again, its end would not be pleasant.
Having dealt with the sneak attackers, Kyosuke seized an opening and cast a genjutsu on a high-level Elite Jonin.
"Genjutsu: Dance of the Moonlit Butterfly."
This was another ability inherited from Hiroshi. Although Kyosuke hadn't had time to refine or improve it yet, it was more than enough to instantly kill the mind of an Elite Jonin.
Just as he expected, in mere seconds, the Elite Jonin was completely consumed by the flaws in his own psyche, reduced to a raving madman.
Smiling with satisfaction, Kyosuke dodged a barrage of attacks from all sides, channeled strength into his legs, and leaped high into the air.
He had finished testing his new abilities. Now, it was time to see how much his Susanoo had evolved.
Ignoring the ninjutsu and kunai flying toward him, Kyosuke's massive chakra reserves began to boil.
Violet-red light flashed wildly in the sky, rising with a speed far surpassing his previous limits. In an instant, it formed into a colossal warrior god, towering like a mountain.
Perfect Susanoo, Activate!
Standing within the diamond-shaped crystal on the giant's forehead, Kyosuke closed his eyes to assess the Susanoo's condition.
"The size hasn't increased, but with the enhanced ocular power, both the Karasu-Tengu armor and the Susanoo Blade are far more solid and condensed than before."
As he controlled the Susanoo to take a few steps, Kyosuke noticed something crucial. While the chakra consumption hadn't decreased significantly, the drain on his Pupil Power (Dōjutsu) was less than a third of what it used to be. As long as he didn't unleash full-power attacks constantly, he could maintain the Perfect Susanoo for as long as his chakra held out.
The greatest advantage of this was his increased sustainability in combat. Against opponents not on his level—like the army below—he could simply trample them without worry.
In addition to the reduced strain, the stability of the Susanoo had improved drastically. This opened up more diverse tactical options.
For example... using the Flying Thunder God Technique to teleport the Perfect Susanoo itself.
The NPC version of Rasa, the Fourth Kazekage, stared up at the sudden appearance of the colossus. Before his expression of terror could even fully form, the violet-red giant vanished into thin air.
It wasn't high-speed movement. It was an instantaneous disappearance.
Simultaneously, Rasa felt a massive shadow engulf him. Sensing impending doom, he instinctively manipulated his Gold Dust to form a defensive dome around himself.
Rasa's reaction speed was impressive, but it mattered little against his opponent.
An attack capable of annihilating all creation descended. The Susanoo Blade sliced through the hardened Gold Dust as if it were cake. Rasa, hiding within, couldn't escape death.
The blade didn't stop there. The sword pressure carried through, cleaving the Gold Dust and carving a canyon dozens of meters deep into the earth below. The Sand ninja caught in the blast radius were obliterated, leaving no trace behind.
The remaining Sand ninja stood frozen in place, their morale shattered. To attack or not to attack? It was a moot point. "Benevolent" Kyosuke soon relieved them of their dilemma.
After slaughtering the hundreds of enemies before him, Kyosuke piloted the Perfect Susanoo and began a slow, terrifying march toward the Hidden Sand Village.
This dungeon was a "Strongman Challenge Instance." The target wasn't a single person, but the Hidden Sand Village at its peak power.
Kyosuke had run this dungeon before, often to train his infiltration or close-quarters combat skills. But he had never wiped out the enemy with such satisfying ease.
In fact, aside from the Hidden Leaf, Kyosuke had already slaughtered his way through the Cloud, Mist, and Rock villages in these simulations.
As for the Hidden Leaf... well, facing an NPC Might Duy who opened the Eighth Gate was not something the old Kyosuke could handle. After getting kicked to death in one simulation, Kyosuke had lost all desire to challenge the Hidden Leaf instance, even with his current power increase.
Kyosuke sat up in bed and pulled open the curtains, letting the sunlight stream in. Having exited the dungeon, he walked out of his room.
Now that the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan was secured, the next step was Saori's Tenseigan.
Although Kyosuke was confident he could handle Obito and Nagisa (Dark Owl) alone, he decided to play it safe. Enhancing Saori's strength would ensure they could successfully bring Uchiha Nagisa back.
It was his mistake that had led the girl into such a dark fate. He could not stand by and watch her continue to sink into the abyss.
"Wait for me. I'll be coming for you soon."
