Wes Elwin briefly examined the wand in his hand and nodded in satisfaction.
The new wand had passed its test.
"Not bad. To withstand such a powerful impact without the slightest damage… truly worth every coin."
He lowered his head and looked at the collapsed Natsu.
Taking Natsu away right now…
But that thought stayed in Wes Elwin's mind for only a moment before he dismissed it.
There existed a strange, indescribable connection between Natsu and Zeref.
If he forcefully took Natsu away now, Zeref would likely appear the very next second.
At his current strength, Wes Elwin could not possibly confront Zeref.
If Zeref acted, Wes would have no choice but to abandon this world and flee.
And that did not align with Wes Elwin's long-term plans.
In the end, he abandoned that tempting thought.
Still… taking a little of Natsu's blood as compensation shouldn't cause any issues, right?
Wes Elwin stepped toward the unconscious Natsu.
Gray, Lucy, and the others immediately rushed to block his path.
"Don't you dare hurt Natsu!" Gray was once again the first to stand in front of him.
Even Happy, the little cat, mustered all his courage to face this overwhelmingly powerful enemy.
"Natsu, we won't let anything happen to you!"
Facing them, Wes merely stomped his foot down heavily.
In an instant, countless earthen spikes burst from the ground and shot toward them.
"Ice-Make: Hammer!"
A massive ice hammer smashed down onto the ground, shattering all the spikes.
Without pause, Gray launched his next attack.
"Ice-Make: Lancer!"
A barrage of ice spears formed and rained toward Wes.
But the spears shattered against an invisible force, scattering into glittering fragments of ice.
"Damn it!" Gray gritted his teeth in frustration.
"Gray-sama, Juvia will assist you!"
Juvia's voice came from the side.
She gathered the moisture in the air, forming clusters of floating water spheres, ready to support Gray at any moment.
"Thanks!"
Even though they had been on opposing sides earlier, their magic now synchronized perfectly.
With Juvia supplying water, Gray greatly reduced his magical consumption—no longer needing to form ice from nothing.
This allowed him to focus all his power on increasing the strength of his spells.
He clenched his right fist and slammed it into his left palm.
"Combined Magic: Scattershot Cannon!"
At the command, all the floating water spheres instantly froze into ice shells and blasted toward Wes.
"Now this is a little interesting… but still far from enough."
Their combined resistance finally piqued Wes Elwin's interest.
He flicked his wand lightly.
The ice shells, which had been flying forward at full speed, instantly halted in midair—
Then, a moment later, turned around and shot back at them even faster.
"What—?!"
Gray's expression changed drastically.
"The difference between your magic and mine," Wes said kindly, "is fundamental."
"When magical power reaches a level where it completely overwhelms the opponent, seizing control of their spells becomes effortless."
Such a situation was rare in the world of Fairy Tail—unless both sides practiced the same type of magic.
But Wes Elwin was different.
He possessed countless techniques and mastered numerous types of magic.
Reflecting his opponents' spells was child's play.
This counterattack left the already-injured group even more battered.
They collapsed helplessly to the ground, slipping into unconsciousness.
Wes Elwin crouched beside Natsu and took out an empty potion vial from his pocket.
The blood on Natsu's body seemed to be pulled by an invisible force, flowing precisely into the bottle.
In no time, the vial was filled to the brim.
Natsu's face grew even paler, his breathing weaker.
"Since I have the opportunity… I might as well gather a few more blood samples.
These young mages of Fairy Tail are quite gifted, after all."
Wes then proceeded to extract the blood of Gray, Juvia, and the others one by one.
Even Happy the little cat failed to escape and had a tube of bright red blood drawn from him.
Natsu, sensing the pain and helplessness of his companions, forced his near-lifeless body to move.
He used his chin to drag himself bit by bit across the ground, inching toward Wes.
Finally, he used the last remnants of his strength to grab Wes Elwin's ankle.
"Don't… hurt… my friends…!"
"I'm not some kind of murderer," Wes replied lazily, and then sat down casually nearby.
"As long as you all stay still and lie there quietly, I won't do anything else.
Honestly, you're all just far too weak."
These words pierced directly into the pride of the Fairy Tail members.
For a guild known for its strength and unity, this humiliation was unbearable.
Originally sprawled on the ground with almost no ability to fight back, the Fairy Tail mages were stirred by Natsu's resolve.
Gritting their teeth, they forced their battered bodies to stand.
"Truly stubborn little cockroaches," Wes commented, amused but still dismissive.
This time, however, he didn't take any further action.
He simply sat there calmly, allowing the Fairy Tail members to surround him.
"Why waste your strength? Wouldn't it be better to sit here and wait for the two sides above to decide their winner?"
His advice sounded logical, but the determined expressions of the Fairy Tail mages made it clear that his words were meaningless to them.
"I'll give you all a chance," Wes Elwin said.
"Show me your strongest attacks."
Those words ignited the fury inside every Fairy Tail mage.
Lucy summoned her Celestial Spirit—Taurus.
Gray and Juvia's magical power began to surge wildly.
Natsu pushed himself up on trembling knees.
One by one, the Fairy Tail members unleashed their magic without hesitation.
Lights of countless spells illuminated the tower.
Facing the incoming torrent of attacks, Wes simply raised a transparent magical barrier.
Every spell—no matter how powerful—vanished upon impact, unable to disturb even a corner of the barrier.
"Winds, howl."
The once-calm sky above suddenly shifted.
Violent winds erupted, tearing apart the clouds.
The Fairy Tail members were thrown to the ground by the sudden storm.
Lightweight members such as Happy, Lucy, and Juvia were swept straight into the air.
Seeing this, Gray and Natsu ignored their own pain and exhaustion, desperately reaching out to grab their hands.
But the storm was far too strong.
Combined with their weakened condition, even their utmost effort wasn't enough.
All four—along with the little cat—were swept away by the raging winds and flung out of the Tower of Heaven, disappearing from sight.
The top of the tower was at least a hundred meters above the sea.
At such a height, without protective magic, even the ocean could not soften the deadly impact of the fall.
