Sitting in front of the blonde-haired woman, the duchess observed her closely as she noticed the baby with golden hair in her arms.
"I told you, you don't need to call me that. Just call me by my name, Leiya," said the woman as she stared at the duchess.
"Why didn't you tell me you were going to visit, Evelyn?" asked Leiya as she looked at her friend.
"Well, I wanted to surprise you, of course. Besides, I've been stuck in the palace ever since I got pregnant with my second child," Evelyn complained, lifting the baby in her arms for Leiya to see.
"So this is the second prince," said Leiya as she looked at the baby, who was wide awake.
"She has your blue eyes and Your Majesty's silver hair," Leiya noted as she observed the child.
"I know, right? Unlike my eldest, who looks exactly like his father, I finally have a child who inherited something from me!" said Evelyn, pouting.
"You still haven't changed one bit, Evelyn," said Leiya fondly as she smiled at her friend.
"You've become gentler, Leiya," said Evelyn as she noticed the change in her friend's demeanor.
"Side effects of being a mother, I guess," Leiya replied with a chuckle.
"I really miss our time at the academy," Evelyn reminisced, her eyes softening at the memories.
"Stop with the reminiscing. Let's talk about your child, Leiya," said Evelyn, snapping herself out of her thoughts as she looked at her friend.
"In fact, it's children, I have twins. A boy and a girl," said Leiya, a fond smile forming on her lips at the mention of her children.
"Really? Then what are their names?" asked Evelyn, curious.
Leiya answered, "The boy's name is Ethan Louis, while the girl is Stella Enzyme."
"What nice names! Leiya, I have an idea!" exclaimed Evelyn excitedly.
"I don't know… aren't they too young to be engaged?" Leiya asked doubtfully, referring to Evelyn's idea of betrothing Stella to the second prince.
"Don't worry! If they don't like each other, we'll just break the engagement without even telling them they were engaged in the first place," Evelyn said, internally praising her own genius.
"Then I guess we can try it. Isn't that right, Hayden?" said Leiya as she gently held the tiny hands of the second prince, who was starting to fall asleep.
"Right… I've been wanting to ask this does His Majesty know you're here?" Leiya asked, finally voicing what had been bothering her.
Evelyn let out a nervous chuckle and turned her head to the side, whistling.
"You really—" Before Leiya could finish her sentence, the sound of the door opening loudly interrupted them.
Both the Queen Consort and the Duchess turned at the same time to see who had disturbed them.
