Chapter 24 - Group's Reaction

Later that night—Lana's room

After a chaotic and emotionally draining day, she could finally rest. She collapsed into her soft, pink bed and smiled tiredly.

Immediately, the first thing that came to her mind was what happened at the store today. She'd met Liam earlier that day—and he'd casually splurged more than $100,000. And she found out that he's the mysterious buyer of the property that has been hot in the news for the whole day.

Liam. Just who is he really? What sort of monstrous family background does he have to be able to easily afford a property of $70m+? Just how rich is he?

She had these questions and more going through her head, but she couldn't get an answer to any of them.

She sighed tiredly and rolled over on the bed, snuggling herself into it and making herself more comfortable.

Her phone buzzed and she picked it up from the nightstand. She saw that someone had send a message to their group chat, Chaos Corner.

She suddenly thought of something and smiled. She opened the group chat and sent a message.

"Guys, guess who I saw today"

Kristie: "Who?!"

Matt: "Come on, just tell us. Don't keep us waiting in suspense."

Stacy: "Tell us, Lana."

Others: "Yeah."

Lana shook her head, smiling from ear to ear, as she read their messages. She decidednkt to keep them in suspense any longer, as she sent another message.

"Liam."

Stacy: "Liam? Where?"

"Rodeo Drive."

Stacy: "Ohhh..."

"Guess what happened."

Matt: "Come on! Just tell us already!"

Harper: "It's already obvious what she's doing 🤣🤣"

Alex: "Tsk. Tsk. I had no idea when our sweet Lana became so evil. Who influenced her? I'm suspecting someone"

Kristie: "Come on, girl. Spill!!!"

Lana giggled when she saw their reaction. Stacy and Elise love doing this, but she has no idea this was how good it feels.

She smiled, as she typed her message.

"He bought some clothes and stuffs from my mom's store that totalled more than $100,000."

Matt: "He's splurging. Wow!"

Alex: "That's a lot of money to spend on clothes in a go. Bro is really loaded. Makes me wonder if he's actually the same Liam."

Elise: "He probably changed his wardrobe or something."

Lana smiled and took a deep breath when she saw their messages. She wonder how they will react when she drops the bomb.

She was about to type out what she learned about Liam, when Alex sent a message.

"Talking about people with hidden identities. Someone with a mysterious and hidden identity bought one of the biggest properties in the country."

Elise: "I saw that. Bellemere Mansion. I remember when you said that the property wasn't listed and had just been sitting there for years now."

Alex: "Yeah. Not only that but a lot of people had tried to purchase it, but the original owner had refused to sell."

Kristie: "It's one of the reasons why the news about it sudden sale blew up when it came out. I thought they would keep it under wraps though. Considering how popular it is."

Kristopher: "That would be close to impossible. Though no one was saying anything, everyone residing in the Platinum Triangle neighbourhoods were paying very close attention to it. If they tried to keep it under wraps, those people have their own special ways of finding out things."

Stacy: "Seems like whoever it is has become a celebrity, even though they might not want it."

Elise: "That's true. But I'm sure that the person will be able to take care of things and handle the attention, and everything that will come. To be able to buy the property from the original owner who was so stubborn and refused to sell, whoever it is must be of high status. Maybe someone from those families."

Alex: "Probably. I actually thought that price would be higher. Considering the whole attention on it, the speculative value was already between $120m+ to $200m+. But for the official amount to be way less than that. I was really shocked."

Harper: "Who knows? It might not be actual amount. Maybe it costs more and they only disclosed this amount for some reason."

Kristie: "I highly doubts it. Disclosing this much would only make people even more curious. Not disclosing it all would had actually been better."

Alex: "But then again, everything was just speculation for those in the real estate market. It was also due to how stubborn the original owner was, that actually made the price to rise so much. Maybe the original price was exactly as disclosed."

Kristie: "Maybe. We will probably find out in the future. I think my dad will dig into it. But he will have to careful not to get himself into trouble."

Alex: "Same with my dad. But he will get the information from the firm's headquarters."

Lana was reading the messages and as she read, she realised how much of a terrifying identity Liam might have. She was finally understanding why her mother's doing her best to gather as much information as she discretely and possibly can on him.

She sighed heavily and decided to send the message to the group. She can't keep it to herself. It's something too heavy and scary. Besides, it would be very wrong of her to do so.

"Guys, Liam is the owner of the Bellemere Mansion. He's the mysterious buyer."

The group chat that was bubbling with messages, suddenly went quiet. It was like someone cast a drought spell on it.

Few seconds later.

Everyone: "No f'ing way!!!"

Stacy: "Lana, are you serious? How did you find out?"

Alex: "Lana! Please! Spill!"

Kristie: "Lana, please tell us what happened!"

Lana smiled and sighed when she saw their reactions. She was expecting and it did feel good seeing how they were begging her to spill what she knew, but her heart felt equally heavy.

She sighed once more and typed the message.

"After he made the payment for the things he bought, he asked for home delivery. I told him that I was already familiar with his address since he lives in the same residential complex as Stacy, but he told me he just moved. I asked for the new address and he told me that he's now staying at Bellemere Mansion in Holmby Hills. I was really shocked to say the least. I lost myself for a moment and asked him again to confirm, and he said the same thing."

Harper: "Holy sh*t!!!"

Kristopher: "Wow!!! Like dayum!!!"

Kristie: "I'm honestly out of words. Like I really have no idea what to say."

Alex: "I'm even more shocked and speechless. My dad's is going to go crazy when he hear this. The kid that came to his office a few days ago with a multimillion dollar property documents was even more scarier than he thought. He will raise Liam's status to VVIP. Man, that's a property in the Platinum Triangle neighbourhoods!!! That's insane!"

Harper: "I will say this for everyone. Who is Liam?!"

Stacy: "I'm the one feeling the most shocked and speechless here. I don't even know how to process everything."

It wasn't just Stacy that was feeling this emotions. Everyone in the group was. And it was even more chaotic for those that have no idea who the mysterious buyer of the property is.

As for the person that caused the chaos? He was enjoying the luxury of his new home.
