"ITADORI !"
Izumi seemed to have called out with a frozen expression. Not even her fault, outside the clothes and the glasses which he occasionally skipped nowadays since many higher-ups already knew how he looked and it was a done deal, he was practically Itadori Yuji.
However, the fact that name came out of her mouth meant she was definitely from the other side…
Sukuna grumbled internally, 'What the fuck is going on, there are thousands of words in the multiverse, why does every single JJK reincarnator have to come here.'
He of course didn't know that the girl was from JJK or just like him from Earth. But it was undeniable that she had curse energy and possibly powers from JJK.
"Haruno…" He said coolly, keeping his calm.
"Huh…" Izumi imposter let out a rather unintelligent sound like she failed to register the word.
"I'm Haruno Sukuna. Nice to meet you."
He'll get his answer. About who this woman was, what she did to the original Izumi, and why she was here looking like Izumi. But not now, right in front of the Hokage. For now, he'll act normal, and try to make sure the raging girl beside him, only stopped by his hands and his pressure, didn't do something stupid either.
If Izumi earlier was shocked, then now she was completely still. That name seemed to have this effect on everyone, it seemed.
For once, Sukuna really wondered why his parents had to name him after Sukuna. Anything else could have saved him so much trouble.
Izumi's earlier tense posture turned fully guarded in an instant. Eyes fixed on Sukuna like a python ready to jump on her.
"Ah Sukuna my boy, you're finally here. Good good… come in. You too Kiyomi and Karin. I see you all have seen why I have called you here." The Hokage said, sitting back down to his seat, while pointing to Izumi.
Kiyomi finally snapped after a long time, head turning to the Hokage, "She can't be Izumi. You said she died." She said frantically. Her emotions all over the place while her Sharingan was still active, fortunately not the Mangekyo.
"Yes, I know what the village said, and believe me there was a good reason behind it." Hiruzen sighed, knowing the girl's emotions were all over the place.
"Ah… I too would like to hear this good reason of yours." Tsunade snorted from the side. Hiruzen smiled at his prized pupil with a face stating, 'You're not helping Tsunade,'
"I didn't know you're acquainted to Izumi here, Sukuna." Hiruzen decided to change the subject by directing the attention towards Sukuna, also a bit surprised that both knew each other.
"Not really Hokage-Sama, this was our first time meeting, however, I have heard plenty from Kiyomi to identify her. If that wasn't enough then Kiyomi's violent reaction gave it away pretty easily." He shrugged, while eyeing Kiyomi from the side, indicating the girl to calm down first.
He wasn't wrong there either, while he had known Izumi before, Izumi herself had never seen his face, for her, he was just the masked man. So she shouldn't have recognized him.
Or at least the real Izumi shouldn't have, this one was a fake.
"How is she alive." Kiyomi took a deep breath, Sharingan finally deactivating, but she still demanded answers. She wasn't letting that go.
"Sigh… well then perhaps let's start with that." Hiruzen sighed, and then after taking a long puff from his pipe, started to retell the tale of what really took place.
From finding the dead body to her coming back and healing up. Even regrowing eyes back. Then the almost three-month observation period and tests to find whether she was an imposter.
Everything was explained.
"But the village said she was…" Kiyomi was questioning, but Hiruzen, as if already knowing the question, answered first.
"The village said that because there was too much pressure from the Uchiha clan. And by then we didn't know that Izumi here would come back to life."
"Hmm… I understand, but what's a Mangekyo." Sukuna intervened in between, playing the role of the perfect little prodigy who still lacked knowledge.
Both Kiyomi and Tsunade seemed to send a look at him, Kiyomi more knowing with an eye roll, while Tsunade had a suspicious kind, like not believing him for a second that he really didn't know.
Hiruzen failed to catch either of that, he took another smoke and reluctantly explained Mangekyo to them like a professor. Since they were involved, they had to know.
Karin also listened to all of it, not speaking in between, being a good observer.
"Okay, so… it's confirmed that this is Izumi Uchiha ?" Sukuna asked.
Before Hiruzen could say anything, Kiyomi's emotions once again flared up. "She is not…"
"She can't be Izumi. Izumi's dead."
"Bold of you to say that Kiyomi when I'm standing right in front of you." Izumi too, who until now was just a spectator, too tense at Sukuna's presence, finally spoke. Seeing him acting normal, her anxiety slightly went down a bit.
"YOU !!!" Kiyomi's Sharingan once again flared up upon hearing 'fake Izumi' speak up like she knew her. It made her mad, like really mad.
And by Hiruzen's words it was clear that someone was using Izumi's body. That was even more maddening. If not for Sukuna silently putting pressure on her, she might have really gone rogue and attacked Izumi.
"The village will soon announce that she is alive and this was misinformation on the village's part, perhaps a secret mission went wrong. We will cover it up… I hope the Uchiha clan won't have any issues with the matter, right !" Hiruzen looked at Kiyomi, this time more demanding.
"No Hokage-Sama…" Kiyomi couldn't do anything but grit her teeth.
"Oh there is one more thing… Izumi Uchiha from today on will be the temporary Jonin Sensei of Team 11 consisting of you three." Hiruzen pointed at Sukuna and the two girls beside him.
"What !"
"What !"
"What !"
"What !"
"What !"
Everyone besides Hiruzen in the room seemed to have gotten a shock at the statement. Even Izumi herself. Tsunade was gawking at the old man like he finally had lost it.
"B-but why ?"
"Because the Chunin Exam is coming up and the village lacks any available Jonin to assign to you. I have seen all three of your performances and believe you're ready for the Chunin Exam. In this case, you three will need a suitable Jonin sensei, wouldn't you." Hiruzen smiled, saying it like he wasn't assigning them a potential spy as their Jonin sensei.
"I believe you don't have any issues with this, Izumi." He asked, for the first time catching the girl off guard.
"Hu hm…. N-No. I'll do it." She stuttered saying that while her eyes roamed on Izumi for a bit before solely fixing on Sukuna.
Sukuna himself was baffled, wondering what was going on inside Hiruzen's mind. Who the fuck assigns a potential spy as a newly formed Genin team's Jonin sensei ?
"Good"
Hiruzen nodded, after a bit of caution-filled words like not leaking the intel about Mangekyo or that there was a man who stole said Mangekyo. They dismissed everyone.
Everyone except Sukuna and Tsunade. Though partly because even if he did, the latter wouldn't leave.
Reluctantly Karin left with Izumi, who was back to her carefree self though still tense, while Kiyomi was staring daggers at the older woman.
She sent him a look which roughly meant, "Please don't leave me with them."
Sukuna just hoped that Kiyomi doesn't make a mess before he is out of here.
Once they were gone, he turned to Hiruzen, but before even that Tsunade spoke out.
"Have you lost your mind, what are you thinking ?"
"I thought you said she is Izumi Uchiha, no imposter !" Hiruzen raised one brow.
"You know what I mean old man, don't play dumb with me. Whether she is a spy or not, she shouldn't be allowed to train a Genin team after she is suspected." Tsunade grumbled.
"True… and that's why I have young Sukuna here." He turned to him. Sukuna had a feeling that this was going to be troublesome.
"Me…" He asked, like accepting his fate.
"Yes… now that you know everything my boy, I'm afraid that I have to involve you in this case."
'Knew it, things never are that simple, the old phoney was acting all alone.'
"I wish you to spy on Izumi Uchiha while she is your team's temporary Jonin sensei." Hiruzen said and already saw Tsunade was about to interrupt him.
He simply moved his hand to stop her and continued. "In any other circumstances, I would have assigned a group of Anbu to trail her. Usually this kind of surveillance goes on for years before yielding any result, if any.
If Izumi Uchiha really is a spy, then she most likely wouldn't act if there is surveillance on her. That could be a good thing for us, but given the circumstances, we need a lead.
Either Izumi is a spy or not is far less important than the stolen Mangekyo. As I said, this kind of surveillance goes on for years before any tangible results, if any. We can't wait that long.
I planned to remove the surveillance, tempting her to act. And instead, you trail her while she teaches your team as Jonin sensei." Hiruzen added.
Smash…
Tsunade couldn't seem to take it anymore, she smashed the nearby table with clear anger on her temples. She didn't care about Sukuna, the bastard was a monster, but this old man… he was putting those girls' lives on the line just because of those damn Mangekyo.
"Are you really lost it, you're expecting a Genin to spy on a spy." She growled.
"I understand your emotions Tsunade, but make no mistakes. Young Sukuna here is no mere Genin. If not for the upcoming Chunin Exam, I long could have promoted him to Chunin.
And he lacks experience, otherwise his current strength is even worthy of a Special Jonin. Besides that, he has mastered Tobirama-Sensei's technique. Yes, after Minato, young Sukuna here has mastered Flying Thunder God. On top of that he was the most capable medic-nin in the hospital besides you."
He didn't even notice that Tsunade didn't look as shocked upon hearing it. She had already seen him in action after all.
"All these factors make him the best choice for this mission, since Sukuna's files are kept secure by me. No one knows about his strength and capabilities besides us and Kakashi and his team.
If Izumi Uchiha is indeed a spy, making her drop her guard would be hard. Perhaps we can do that with torture, but I might not resort to the extreme until necessary. She will be most relaxed with inexperienced Genins.
From power, to position, and the ability to get out of danger. He has every possible advantage to do this mission. I can't think of anyone else who is more capable for this mission than him." He said… looking expectantly at Sukuna.
Sukuna just listened… honestly thought the man was losing it. Perhaps Danzo's death had affected him more than he let it be known.
He took a deep breath, he did see the logic behind the Hokage's reasoning. But…
'Man… such a drag.'
"I'll do it."

A/N : And now you know why I didn't let Genma teach them. Let be honest, there wasn't anyone in leaf who could have team them anything. Not to mention they would have hindered Sukuna and Kiyomi with their special condtion.
As for Sarutobi's decision. Well let say he's getting on his years.
As for why her, and who is her. All will come in time. Just like you should give your stones on time for timely updates.
