Chapter 17 Onyi's POV
As i followed the guard through the winding corridors of the castle, the air grew thick with anticipation. We finally stopped at a heavy wooden door adorned with intricate carvings, and the guard pushed it open, revealing a room that made my jaw drop.
Inside, a group of male nobles lounged on plush couches, each with a half-naked lady by their side. The room was filled with the sound of laughter, music, and clinking glasses. I recognized some of the nobles from the pack's gatherings, but others were unfamiliar.
The alpha king sat at the far end of the room, his piercing gaze surveying the space before landing on me. He nodded, and the guard beside me bowed slightly before nudging me forward.
As I approached the alpha king, the room fell silent. the nobles turned to look at me, their eyes assessing and calculating. The ladies, however, seemed less interested, their gazes drifting back to their companions.
"Ah, Onyi," the alpha king said, his voice low and commanding. "Welcome. I see you're punctual. I appreciate that." He sat highly on his seat, with nothing on but a robe.
I bowed my head slightly, trying to process the scene before me. Why is he suddenly kind to me? "Thank you, alpha king."
He gestured to an empty chair beside him, I hesitated before taking a seat, a blonde man sat in between his thighs throwing seductive stares at him. I sat still trying to ignore the curious glances from the nobles. The alpha king snapped his fingers, and a servant appeared with a glass of wine for me. The young man possessed the king's lips,they kissed passionately,I had to force the wine down my throat to avoid watching.
"Let's get down to business, shall we?" the alpha king said, his eyes glinting in the dim light. "I've summoned you here for a specific purpose, oynyi. one that requires your... unique skills."
As he spoke, the ladies in the room began to stir, their movements becoming more sensual, more deliberate. the nobles laughed and reached for them, pulling them close.
I felt a surge of unease, unsure what the alpha king had planned for me. but i knew one thing - I had to be careful. In this world, one misstep could be fatal.
The alpha king's eyes locked onto mine, and I sensed a challenge, a test of my loyalty and my wits. I steeled myself, ready to face whatever lay ahead, my heart pounding in anticipation .
